AndrewG 05 Nov 2008 09:58

Woohoo! :))

Monstro 05 Nov 2008 10:11

Daft question but why elect someone now then wait til nigh on the end of January to swear him in?

AndrewG 05 Nov 2008 10:17

Gives Bush time to pack his shit and decontaminate the white house from all stupid, selfish, money making ideas ever.

Gives them time to complete all the court cases. :))

djfierce 05 Nov 2008 11:09

I hope this president is all everyone expects him to be :-)

allrevvedup 05 Nov 2008 11:16

Has any president ever been what everyone expected him to be?

LucyK! 05 Nov 2008 11:45

Pleased he won it, I don't know why but there's something I really like about him, can't quite put my finger on it but I like him...that, and I can't look at John McCain, something a little creepy there :?

Wario 05 Nov 2008 11:49

YAYA! I like change. More virety if we have a multicultiral presedentcy.

I mean looking at the presedent chart feels so dry. Now obama brings that chart to life.

Voted for him my mother didn't

Well, Obama's got the moves ;-) ...

Dave

mszee 05 Nov 2008 13:49

I would have been happy with anybody but McCain...this is no doubt a big step up anyway...McCain and Palin were two creeps and I have no idea how the hell they got nominated since their own party didn't support them and they've tried to distance themselves from their own party...weird...

We all hope that there will be changes for the better...

And as to why wait till January...why indeed...

 Tried to fix the link as it doesn't seem to be working, but turns out it's either a problem with either youtube or this computer
(anyone else having youtube problems at the moment?)

As for Obama, he's been demanding change for some time, let's all hope that he delivers before we all end of begging for change too :bleh:

AndyK 05 Nov 2008 17:25

Anyone got 15p? I've not got anymore cash with me and I'm gagging for a coffee from the machine!

mszee 05 Nov 2008 17:28

Mod off topic...tsk tsk...

AndyK 05 Nov 2008 17:37

Entirely on topic, I was asking for change :p

Monstro 05 Nov 2008 17:58

Change your name to Guy

AndyK 05 Nov 2008 18:05

Do I sense a plot?

Monstro 05 Nov 2008 18:10

It's a cracker lol

AndyK 05 Nov 2008 18:14

You're a sparkler today that's for sure.

RadioMaster 05 Nov 2008 18:29

I think we've witnessed a historical moment here....Good luck Mr. O!

I actually read a lot about McCain the last days, I respect the man for what he has done and what he went through. If he would have stayed true to his ideas he would have had a better chance, than just by throwing mud at his opponent.
The only person that creeps me out is Palin. How she ever got to be Senator(Governour?) of something is a complete mystery for me.

Monstro 05 Nov 2008 18:29

Tho I thought I was gonna get a rocket for going off topic

A few things that you must have read wrong:

1. McCain really is a Vietnam war veteran. Almost as soon as he has gotten to Vietnam he was captured, tortured and actually cracked under torture...
2. He has never tried to escape although the others who were with him in was prison did not crack and actually attempted escapes.
3. Upon returning from the war he has dumped his wife for a Budweiser heiress
4. Upon marrying an heiress, he has promptly sired some children and left the whole family behind while going to Washington. While Washington is not the best place to raise the family, nearby states are. His family was NOT nearby.
5. When met with one of the veterans who was in Vietnam with him and asked what assignment he is looking for in peaceful time, he asked the other vet where he is going. The other one promptly replied that he is going to Middle East where there will be some problems. McCain replied that he is going to South America cause women there are beautiful (that is while still married to first wife and being a father).
6. McCain was involved in some scandals that came out recently.

And the list goes on...

Sarah Palin - luckily she is just a governor (not a senator) of a god forsaken state where people no longer like her either. She is ultra conservative...that's why she was chosen to be a running mate to appease ultra conservative Republicans. While appeasing no one, she did manage to turn off Moderates.

Funny enough...Republicans are thinking of Palin for 2012.

allrevvedup 05 Nov 2008 19:23

Palin is very naïve and I'm not sure another 4 years will help her...especially since her clothing budget will be wiped out!

Precisely why she is so valuable...she is going to be a puppet just like Bush was...

mszee 05 Nov 2008 19:35

Bush Jr. that is...Bush Sr. actually has a few pennies to rub together in his head...

RadioMaster 05 Nov 2008 19:37

have you seen the Oliver Stone movie about him? For some reason it's not shown in cinemas over here...

I didn't...if it's ever on TV and I have absolutely nothing better to do - I will watch it...otherwise...I already know more than I found out is in that movie...

RadioMaster 05 Nov 2008 20:03

its gotten pretty good reviews over here....shame no cinema will show it

djfierce 05 Nov 2008 20:25

unfortunatley you can only watch those kind of films for entertainment purposes ;)

mszee 05 Nov 2008 20:33

I don't believe that this movie is accurate. After all, he is still the President.

I am sure it will be available to DVD at some point in the future...

djfierce 05 Nov 2008 23:05

my point exactly, i dont believe you can take any 'true' story films lliterally, you have to view them as just films. If you want a history lessong or knoe more reliable facts then you should find other sources imo

Betty 06 Nov 2008 00:53

Well done America!!!!
(can´t believe I´ve just said that lol)
