John Miceli Charity Auction

John is going to add a Charity Auction at the start of every month and the first Charity Auction is going on Ebay tonight

You can find more info on his website on a new link called 'Charity Auctions' and he also put up a blog about it HERE

The charity is Compassion International. John sponsors two children already through this charity and he is hoping to be able to sponsor another child by doing these Auctions

The first Auction is for this very cool drum head that John used at Rehearsals in NY back in June. That has the set list on it.

The auction will go on today at 3.00pm Eastern time and 11.00pm UK time HERE I'll post the link to the auction when it goes on.

John is giving away a set of John Miceli / Meat Loaf drum sticks with this auction. (As many of you already know a set of these alone went for £102! on eBay last week lol.)

This is a really great cause and it means a lot to John. He has said he'll post updates on his site from the child that gets sponsored.

That is fantastic Deb :-) If I was rich I would definately bid on those things :-)

Deb 30 Sep 2008 18:56

It really is Sarah  and I don't think people need to be rich to bid for these auctions :-) Lots of things go on ebay for good prices

Yes I know - I was just kidding :-) But hopefully the bids will be very high, so John can get a lot of money for this good cause!

Deb 30 Sep 2008 20:18

Thats true Sarah

meatloaf-unofficial 30 Sep 2008 22:44

It deffo a good idea and a great cause too..
I really do hope it does well and I will keep an eye on it and will bid, yes, I will :-P

What a great idea!

~Helen~ 01 Oct 2008 00:26

Deb stop tempting me with exciting auctions, worthwhile or otherwise! ;-)

just kidding - think it's a brilliant idea and i keep forgetting to check john's site so v glad you posted about it on here :-)

AndrewG 01 Oct 2008 00:33

So he writes the setlist on the drumskin. Does he always do this?
What show was that from anyway?

AndrewG 01 Oct 2008 00:34

Doh just the read the auction and it's from the rehearsals. :D

LOL you know you want to Helen lol

Andrew, no it's not something John always does, as I have used drum heads that don't have a setlist on lol. But I have a feeling it is something he does either in rehearals or the beg of tour as I have one from beg of last tour with a bit of 'Pigs' on and one from this tour with a setlist one  Very similar to this one actually :-) and yep it's from the NY rehearsals

6 bids already  So i'm guessing the lack of replies is cause some want me to shut up and not draw this to anyones attention lol.

Sorry :-( Normally I'm totally with those who want to keep ebay auctions quiet, but this one is for a very worthy cause :-)

Who would ever want you to shut up Des? :p

A very worthy cause indeed, and for once an auction for a Meat item that I think everyone wants to see go to the highest possible bidder.

carole 01 Oct 2008 10:32

Thanks for letting us know Deb, that's nice of John to do that. It will probably be out of my price range too, but I'll take a look.

Well I put in a bid, and immediately got outbid, so I've got it as a watched item.

John posted a blog about the child that he sponsored with the money from this auction

Looks like your money went to a very good cause Andy and I guess you could say you kinda adopted a child

Almost time for this months auction

Indeed. Looks like a fantastic cause. The drumhead and sticks finally arrived yesterday after a bit of a battle with ParcelForce ... it all looks far better than in the pics that were posted, and will be framed and displayed somewhere prominent soon.

As for adoption ... think I'll just be happy that I've enabled someone else to do that ;-)

Deb 29 Oct 2008 14:44

Glad they got there ok :-) When you find a home for them don't forget the pics

AndyK 29 Oct 2008 14:45

Leave it with me! ;-)

btw, has the postman come calling recently?

Deb 29 Oct 2008 16:27

Oh $£#* yeah  Sorry heads in permanent 'headless chicken mode lately  will email you asap
then again asap could be god only knows when :lmao:
