Best ML Balled that IS OFF a BOOH Album

You knew theres no contst, I knew there's no contest ....

TWO OUT OF THREE AIN'T BAD

Followed swiftly by It Just Won't Quit

I know AFL and IACBTMN are "ballads" but I consider them duets

Monstro 22 Aug 2008 23:24

haven't you got any homework?

MeatGrl1 22 Aug 2008 23:29

I would not class Objects In The Rear View Mirror May Appear Closer Than They Are as a ballard as it focuses on an abusive relationship and loosing someone close to you  but that might be just me.
And I also wondered the same thing as M, don't you have homework as opposed to wasting your spare time doing pointless polls that nobody really cares about  ?

Yet here you are doing a pointless reply in a pointless thread with a pointless poll  No doubt at some point you'll do a pointless update :retard:

I vote Objects.

She used her body just like a bandage
She used my body just like a wound

Pure Steingenius lyrics.

Oh I just do these polls to annoy YOU

lol Actually, I don't get back into school until Sept. 2nd and I do these polls beacuse I'm bored with myself.

I only have rehearsal three times a month and after that all I do is eat cheetos while watching Cheers.

i mean my life is a living hell:

I mean my cat is gay, my sister is goth, my uncle lost his foot while cutting his lawn, I broke my favorite humpty dumpty mug, and i lost my hamster in a grizzly fire involving muffins and shaving creame!

(I'm so pathetic i lied about everything i said about my life ..... except the shaving creme incident)

i need some homework

:kickass:

AndrewG 23 Aug 2008 01:55

LOL. This forum cracks me up at times. :))

RadioMaster 23 Aug 2008 09:45

Battybarb 23 Aug 2008 10:39

So a ballad is only about happy stuff?? I thought it was the style of the song not the content :?
If that's the case then you might as well delete a few on that list by that reasoning.

Actually, I thought that most ballads are anti-happy...LOL...most ballads are rather melancholy, romantic and/or sentimental...

RadioMaster 24 Aug 2008 08:46

I think what Emma meant to say is that a ballad is about love...
(correct me if Im wrong)

djfierce 24 Aug 2008 10:51

thats not how i see a ballad but hey i'm not a music guru ;)

RadioMaster 24 Aug 2008 11:34

Im quite surprised about the poll results btw

would have thought Objects would get about as many votes as FCOL. (I personally think Ojbects is better)
Also wouldnt have thought Two out of Three would get as many votes as it did.

I thought it would be close between those two. Dunno why anyone would vote for anything else

I went for FCOL as I think Meat's vocal performance is just stunning on that, but on another day I may well have voted for Objects.

Dave

duke knooby 24 Aug 2008 14:33

balled, ballard, ballad.... i dunno which to vote for

 Now that's a country hit if ever I heard one.

Not going to vote on this because I like too many of these songs for different reasons to place one above the other.

mszee 24 Aug 2008 19:17

I still didn't vote and probably won't now...but the last 4 lost to the first 6 as far as I am concerned...so...narrowed a field a bit...

MeatGrl1 24 Aug 2008 23:21

I haven't and probably never will, I love all these songs !

The Flying Mouse 25 Aug 2008 16:33

 Poll now added for those wishing to abstain from voting but want to keep an eye on the results

Well it's not exactly a 10 minute tribute to Norwegian Death Metal..so i'm not sure what you could call it other then a ballad.

Bluegrass?,
Hip Hop?
Rap?
Folk?
Boyband Bubblegum Pop?

By the way, my vote would be two out of three ain't bad,

By the way is I abstain from voting a hidden track or is it just Meat's personal view of the forthcoming elections? :)

Pudding 26 Aug 2008 00:43

According to several sources on the net i.e. google  the word ballad (note the spelling for the illiterate ) has the following meaning

A popular song especially of a romantic or sentimental nature.
A ballad is a poem usually set to music; thus, it often is a story told in a song.
Any popular narrative poem, often with epic subject and usually in lyric form.

I think we can safely say Objects fits within the definition of ballad :))

 It was the original lyrics to Amnesty Is Granted :p

RadioMaster 26 Aug 2008 15:51

I thought it was Meat Loaf's latest song about the US election 08?

 it took Pud's post for me to spot the actual title of this thread...and maybe the first day back at work after a long bank holiday weekend does funny things to me, because this had me chuckling out loud.

As for my vote, it was between so many of them for so many reasons - lyrics, tune, general production of the song, that I applied the highly scientific method of picking one at random from the songs that mean most the me personally. And I aint tellin you what I picked :-P

mikeloaf 27 Aug 2008 00:52

For me, Meat's best song is 'For Crying Out Loud' above all others. I have never heard him do it live (DVD,CD's excepted), but I would love to.

allrevvedup 27 Aug 2008 17:04

i'm not sure I would at this stage...one of those where , for me, the original can't be topped.

Battybarb 27 Aug 2008 18:51

I have heard "For Crying Out Loud"live,it was just awesome....bought tears to the eyes...

I prefer the melbourne live recording to the original

RadioMaster 27 Aug 2008 22:04

:? though decision

would go for the album version though I think

Me too i like on the album its just Meat and the piano, but Live it seems that the backing vocals come in too early for me, they should wait till the second verse to come in like on the album. That's what ruined it for me on the Melbourne CD and DVD.

:kickass:

djfierce 27 Aug 2008 22:57

ooh picky methinks....i think the melbourne one sounds more real...you really notice the sped up effect on the album when listening to the two...a reason why i prefer the live all revved up versions too

allrevvedup 27 Aug 2008 22:58

yeah i'll give you that, the original version of all revved up sounds very dated...i prefer the live around the world version

djfierce 27 Aug 2008 23:10

thats my fave version too :-)

AndrewG 27 Aug 2008 23:14

FCOL on MSO. However Objects in RAH was amazing too. :D

I think the best All Revved Up is the version from Bad Attiude Live :D

FCOL on the other hand is better without any crowd noise whatsoever begining to end.

Album version of ARU is basically Saxophone with vocals. That IS dated. Sounds like they should preform the album version live nowadays with Dave and All.

mszee 28 Aug 2008 01:46

I am probably a :moo: and a :retard:...but one thing I wouldn't have called All Revved up...and that would be a ballad...

Think the "Someone's gotta draw first blood" line is rather sentimental though. LMAO
