NBC is broadcasting the Olympics, and evidently someone posted the video on YouTube probably without permission. So I imagine when NBC found out, they had it taken off.
NBC is maintaining very tight control. Shortly after the Olympics started, I couldn't get videos off the NBC Olympics site any more because they refused to recognize the major Cablevision area from where I receive my cable connection.
I sure hope the wrestler is able to walk.
UPDATE: Looked this accident up in Google; turns out his back is fine; he had pulled his elbow out of the socket, and that was why he was screaming. His back is fine. He's no doublt 'out' for the rest of the year, so the news article goes, but he's fine now.

mszee 15 Aug 2008 03:19

Should I ask for a description in December? Nah...think I shall pass...pictures were enough...

Pudding 15 Aug 2008 08:09

Anyone else feel a bit bad for that Chinese girl who sang the opening ceremony song but because she had a face like it had been hit with a wok got substituted for a much prettier girl?

Pud

djfierce 15 Aug 2008 10:18

yeah...that sucks. China's defence was that they wanted the opening to be PERFECT!!!
Did that girls parents not have a slight objection???

hence the digital addition of the fireworks to the broadcasted opening ceremony as well, they were worried the smog would obscure them.

imagine the sound of the weights coming down then his screams and you're pretty much there ;) only thing those pics dont show really is the force the weights came down on him and his body shaking quite disturbingly after on the floor :?

It's got to be pretty devastating to be told you've spawned an ugly kid :retard: On the plus side though she was a pretty good singer, so she could get a job as a studio singer...LOL

I don't just feel bad...I feel scared...it took me 1/2 hour to get terrified during opening ceremonies...that many Chinese THAT synchronized is terrifying for somebody who grew up in Soviet Ukraine...

They probably didn't...girls are considered very inferior in China anyway...you can even get a special permission for a second child if you're a farmer and have a girl...

Pudding 16 Aug 2008 01:17

Don't know if anyone watched the 100m mens qualifying, but Usain Bolt practically jogged the 100m in 9.92  that kinda boggles the mind as to how fast he can actually go.

Pud

AndyK 16 Aug 2008 01:23

Yeah saw that this afternoon, be interesting to see how fast he runs when he really tries, had to feel sorry for the Brit drawn against him in the same heat who looked like he was going to burst a few veins trying.

Diane 16 Aug 2008 01:28

Saw that too. I've never seen anyone make it look so easy. Can't wait to see what happens when he turns on the power.

The Flying Mouse 17 Aug 2008 19:15

 I must comment on how well done the opening ceremony was 8) .

Routines involving up to a thousand people at a time in perfect harmony with every one of their fellows.
Complex performances requiring split second timing by all concerned to make it work.

Only oppression has the power to get people working together like that.

That's why if you ever watch the opening ceremony in a democratic country, it's bound to be shit :shit: .

"Beat that drum in perfect time, or you'll never see the trainee factory again" :bleh: .

Asha 17 Aug 2008 19:36

I saw this weight lifting thingy happen live, i just looked and I went, noooooo, what the h*ll. And then I shouted, "You have to come see this." How awfull am I.

I think he would win gold given that everyine else will be running in the 110m hurdles lol

Surely even rj could win with 10m less to run :p

 Is it true the Italian athlete tried to surrender when they heard the starting pistol fire?

Pudding 18 Aug 2008 10:54

If it wasn't for Phelps' haul, Great Britain would have the same amount of Golds as the Yanks.

Pud

djfierce 18 Aug 2008 11:02

It's nice to see us doing well but unfortunatly as these events finish its unlikely we'll get much more :( hope i'm wrong though.

Pudding 18 Aug 2008 11:09

I think GB has got at least another 3 Golds to come.

Pud

SamCat 18 Aug 2008 11:13

We've stiil got quite a few hopefuls left and with London being next its a great incentive!!

i think thats a fair estimation. We really need to produce better on the athletics side though.

Tim Brabant was very impressive in the fla~~~~er canoe this morning, think there's a real chance of a gold there.

Battybarb 18 Aug 2008 11:23

It is nice to see us doing better for a change..good luck to all out there...

And accidently caught some of the synchronised swimming  OMG weirdest thing ever lol!!

Pudding 21 Aug 2008 06:42

Watching a 10Km marathon swim is like watching a double episode of crab fishing on Discovery Channel, you've no idea why you're watching it but for some reason you HAVE to watch it.

Who'd have thought Great Britain could swim? :wtf: GB women win silver & bronze and the men (well man) win silver...F'kin hell 10 kilometers is a long way to swim

Pud

djfierce 21 Aug 2008 10:10
