~Helen~ 09 Jun 2008 10:52

It is now in my diary and I shall be booking possession of the TV remote for the evening!

LucyK! 09 Jun 2008 11:36

Just a reminder that (we think!) Meat made a typo and The F Word will be aired on Tuesday June 24th rather than the 26th which is a Thursday, as the other episodes have gone out on a Tuesday

~Helen~ 09 Jun 2008 11:52

OK...it's now in my diary twice! I'll check the TV paper when it comes out!

I was just thinking about that myself... you beat me to it  :D:-P

snowy 09 Jun 2008 15:17

It is also being repeated on Fridays an hour later (10pm) for those who still miss it or who need another Meat fix!

Pudding 10 Jun 2008 01:44

Awesome, I love The F Word. What's the odds the Meat Loaf cooks a meatloaf?

Pud

MeatGrl1 10 Jun 2008 04:52

Pudding 10 Jun 2008 07:20

So is the roll of the eyes a YES or a NO that Meat Loaf will cook a meatloaf?

Pud

Monstro 10 Jun 2008 08:31

Lol, no, apparently he cooks a "Meat Loaf tuna casserole surprise"

Pudding 10 Jun 2008 09:54

If he doesn't do meatloaf, he'll do pudding, everyone loves pudding

Pud

djfierce 10 Jun 2008 10:02

m is right, he said he did, meatloaf tuna casserol surprise lol wonder what the surprise bit is?

Ah, but if you don't eat yer meat, you can't have any pudding. How can you
have any pudding if you don't eat yer meat?

Dave

LucyK! 10 Jun 2008 11:35

You could have big fat Yorkshire Puddings :))

Pudding 10 Jun 2008 11:59

You could have the mother of all Yorkshire Puddings filled with meatloaf and gravy  Who isn't hungry now?

Pud

At the end of the F Word last night they had a 'coming next week' at the end. Yes you see Meat with Gordon taking the p*** out of his name.
Repeated on Friday at 10.00pm
(Not sure about Meat's choice of shirt for this appearance though!)

LucyK! 19 Jun 2008 10:36

Just because he's in the kitchen they don't need to spell his name like food!

Must confess to getting quite excited when we saw the preview for the programme, suddenly seems very real that he's (almost!) back!

Yep, watched it last night and have to completely agree with Snowy.....that's a god awful shirt lol

Now gonna have to talk my parents into watching this as we're in Newcastle next week!!!!

snowy 19 Jun 2008 19:58

SO the question now is......

Does Meat's recipe win or lose against Gordon's:??:

MeatGrl1 19 Jun 2008 20:15

Got to get me a copy of the RT !

LOL

Battybarb 19 Jun 2008 23:17

Love the apron...lol

MeatGrl1 19 Jun 2008 23:20

I've missed it?

Thought it was the 24th !

Monstro 19 Jun 2008 23:21

it is the 24th

MissAsh 19 Jun 2008 23:35

Gah, everything I want to see is on on the 24th while I'm out at a concert! Will have to catch the repeat on Friday if I'm home from work in time, really can't wait to see this!

~Helen~ 20 Jun 2008 00:11

Do you have sky plus? or a video recorder? or lots of generous friends with such technology...?

Thanks for clarifying that Michael, for a moment I thought that I was going crazy  !

Pudding 20 Jun 2008 00:34

Just watched the recent episode with the small snippet of Meat and he must have gone colourblind with a shirt like that.

Got to say from this recent episode I'm not keen to try Casu Marzu cheese :barf:

Pudding 20 Jun 2008 01:08

I'm sure that segment of the show will be recorded and uploaded for all to watch pretty much as soon as the show's finished.

Pud

Battybarb 20 Jun 2008 18:40

Will have the house to myself tuesday,no interuptions..hooray

MeatGrl1 23 Jun 2008 00:45

Got RT on Saturday, pic is cool and I saw the repete on Friday and again that damn question popped up;

Before Meat Loaf were you called nut roast ?

Come on Gordon couldn't you have thought of something better to ask than that  !!!

Battybarb 23 Jun 2008 01:19

How many times has that been asked ??...lol

MeatGrl1 23 Jun 2008 01:31

Well he was asked last year on that Private Sessions and I think in the seventies but I've not watched any Meaty stuff lately but I'd be sick to death of that one question by now if I was Meat !!!

Pudding 23 Jun 2008 06:23

But you're not Meat, which is a blessing. Meats been asked dumber questions than that in his time, so it'll probably be water off a ducks back to him.

This'll be really good exposure for Meat Loaf, so if Gordon Ramsay asks a daft question here and there, I don't think he should be hung, drawn and quartered for it.

Pud

24K 23 Jun 2008 10:15

The shirt is hideous, what was Meat thinking?!;)
I agree it will be great publicity for Meat, i am looking forward to it:))

djfierce 23 Jun 2008 10:28

lol that shirt is pretty bad lol

exactly right pud, plus i dont think Gordon is such an avid fans as us and probably doesnt know he gets asked so much, anyway i dont think it 'bothers' him as such, that would just be stupid to get annoyed over such a small thing, he has plenty more important things to stress over lol, all this requires is either a polite smile or a smartarse comment which this time he chose to comment but on some of the other promo's he did that week he chose to smile and ignore it, dont think its a biggie for him anyway ;)

Ankie 23 Jun 2008 12:05

I think it is quite something to join someone as Gordon Ramsey in his show ;):D
No doubt Meat will be up to him, as he was ready for Jensen in Holland in 2006 Unfortunately back then they cut out the parts of the interview we as fans loved best! Amongst which was the line of the host sighing he didnt know what to reply to the remark of Meat :lmao:

Guess no one was allowed to attend the recording of this Gordon Ramsey show, and share that kind of things with us here?

djfierce 23 Jun 2008 12:42

they do have a restaurant full of people but firstly i think they are mostly celebs/well to do people  but even then i dont think anyone gets to witness the cook off in person.

Do you think they'd've been able to keep quiet about it if they did? ;)

LucyK! 23 Jun 2008 13:09

I think if you put yourself in the public eye with a name like Meat Loaf you're more than prepared for the smart arse comments  Though admittedly Gordon could have come up with something a little more original ;)

djfierce 23 Jun 2008 13:12

it'll just be nice to see Meat doing something different than just sitting on a sofa answering questions that we know the answers to, wish he would do something like buzzcocks again though

~Helen~ 23 Jun 2008 13:22

I agree Anji - I'm looking forward to seeing this. Should be entertaining watching him interacting with Gordon Ramsey too

You can apply to dine there via the channel four website but it's "pot (pun intended) luck" as to who's cooking etc.

I also think you book weeks in advance with no knowledge of who else is there.

LucyK! 23 Jun 2008 14:10

I agree Anji, Buzzcocks was brilliant, even years back when he used to go on The Big Breakfast he used to be able to get involved with things rahter than being told to sit

~Helen~ 24 Jun 2008 00:08

That sweater was probably the height of fashion at the time! I luckily have the advantage of not being famous so no one is interested in my fashion errors of time gone by ;)

And, I know this is probably a strange question but this thread got me wondering. Does Meat actually pick out his own wardrobe for TV appearances or does he have someone who does that for him? And it's therefore his choice of wardrobe-pickerer we should be questionning rather than his choice of shirt??? :?

SamCat 24 Jun 2008 00:34

If he had a stylist for that jumper i hope he sacked them!!

Apparently all photo's were banned from publication after a lawsuit by Kermit the Frog.

SamCat 24 Jun 2008 01:14

Neil only wore it during the day to meet us then he changed into a black jacket for the concert!!

MeatGrl1 24 Jun 2008 01:24

He put it back on afterwards Em !!!!

Because he was wearing it when I was at the Montana afterwards  !

SamCat 24 Jun 2008 01:26

Meat lost to Gordon by 3 votes to 2.

Meat then replied well 2 out of 3 aint bad

Seemed in good health and very happy.

Hypnobabe 24 Jun 2008 23:01

well that turned out better than I thought!!

AndyK 24 Jun 2008 23:04

Meat at his on form best ... who let him loose with a knife!!! Great to see him looking so relaxed and happy.

snowy 24 Jun 2008 23:09

Did anyone actuallY see Meat put Tuna in his Tuna Suprise? or was it just the cream of chicken soup??

Well it looks like running a restaurant is off Meat's 'what to do when I retire' list!

Thankfully his talents lie elsewhere

Battybarb 24 Jun 2008 23:19

Perhaps he will be better at saving penalties...lol
