Taipan 06 May 2003 21:21

it was hardly a special! two songs only!

but meat rocked the set.

the edited-down totp version of CHSIB wasn't good, but this longer version was amazing! rock on!

Jen 06 May 2003 21:27

I swear my digibox hates me :x

Half way through Dead Ringer, guess what happens... it switches off!!!
And won't switch back on untill, guess when... that's right the last few lines of CHSIB

Soooo anoyed, but from those few seconds I actually saw, damn man Patti looked so hot

Tim 06 May 2003 21:30

It was great!! missed the first part of Dead Ringer, but it was great. Super show...

And sarah looking good LOL

badger 06 May 2003 21:33

aaarrrggghhh!!!

why did I think it was on at 7.20???

I always miss these things!!

bokibe 06 May 2003 22:00

Saw the TOTP2 broadcast this evening. Deadringer was absolutly great. Great performance of Metal Loaf also, he really knows how to rock!

But what happened with Meat during CHSIB? Was it a tape playing with live singing? In my opinion the song was a little bit to slow, was it due to that Meat lost a bit text or better didn't sync. ?

I hope not to be too critical ....

dottie 06 May 2003 22:27

Missed the whole lot   back from work late

The Flying Mouse 06 May 2003 22:31

 Great performances all round 8) .

Renegade Angel 06 May 2003 22:55

This was a great performance - back to the rocking best!
Meats voice sounded great and Paul Crooks guitar added a more excitting sound to Deadringer.
I prefer to hear the more heavier performances rather than the acoustic stuff that has been done on radio sessions as of late.
I know that the radio sessions were promo for the album but the heavy raw sound is what Meat and the band do best.

Top performance fireball!

ps - loved John Golden's Les Paul

Bart 06 May 2003 23:30

His voice wasn't that great. Dead Ringer sounded great, but CHSIB was kinda terrible. he has to get used to do the song live and he never sounds that great during tv-shows. But the act was superb and only the way Meat can do. They knocked eachother heads in the end, did you see it.? it was perfect timing.

Asha 06 May 2003 23:32

just watched it on video, it was great.

So glad I checked the forum before I had to leave.
I wouldn't have missed it for the world.

Great show, Rock on Fire Ball.

welcome Asha

Renegade Angel 06 May 2003 23:38

I thought is voice sounded great - very strong and he didn't seem to struggle with it.

Niné 06 May 2003 23:46

It was just great. But i don't agree that he did CHSIB that much. It was the sound effect that was not good. They didn't make a good mix with the music and the singer

Bart 06 May 2003 23:50

Well, i don't know, but i must be crazy or something. I have heard him doing his thing 10 times better than this.

Guppie 06 May 2003 23:53

Stupid Dutch little fishy forgot to watch and/or set VCR and missed the performance

Niné 06 May 2003 23:57

Yes that is what i mean, he did it much better before and with that passion he did on totp2 it must be the sound that is not good. How can he preform such a song in that room, it have to have the space and there it is just small

Bart 07 May 2003 00:15

I don't agree. it was not the sound.

Bart 07 May 2003 00:16

...but the act was great!

And he got some real f... airplay!!

Asha 07 May 2003 00:22

Sounded great anyway. Owk, so the Heieneken Music Hall was better, but you just can't expect the same sound in a "small" room.
I think open air is the best for any concert, especially a show like Meat's.

I'm gonna play the video real loud tommorow, let's see how that sounds :D .

Thx for the welcome btw dotster.

Asha

Guppie 07 May 2003 00:47

Welcome from me too, Asha. Were you in HMH too and are you Dutch?

Ben 07 May 2003 00:53

Dead ringer was FANTASTIC, loved every second of it.

Asha 07 May 2003 00:54

well,
Yes and well yes :D :D

Thx you, and great to be here

Asha

Kat 07 May 2003 14:57

I was sitting in traffic when dead ringer was on :(
butttt I did see CHSIB and to be honest didn't think that much of it.
I was watching it with one of my housemates and he said "Is it supposed to sound like that?"
Not last time I checked it wasn't but oh well.....

ChrisBelfast 07 May 2003 15:06

I couldnt have faulted dead ringer at all. I also thought CHSIB was good, but what i really liked was the ending part when he bent over and started screaming the notes(And you said nothing at all), true meat loaf at that part!!

Peat Loaf 08 May 2003 20:26

Are you all CRAZY!!!! Or just afraid to say any thing that might raise an eyebrow from you know who Dead Ringer was Awful!!! CHSIB was really good but for goodness sake guys come on

Pete 8)

mariella 08 May 2003 20:39

Hi Peat,

Glad you liked CHSIB. I did too :bunny:

Great day to you,

Mariella

mariella 08 May 2003 20:53

Forgot to mention. Didn't see Deadringer, missed the whole show, fell asleep (must have been REALLY tired!). But saw CHSIB last time on TOTP a few weeks ago, same version, I think.
If most people here say Deadringer was GREAT, I don't see why I should question that!!

Mariella

Renegade Angel 08 May 2003 20:58

What was wrong with Deadringer?
Im not scared to say something that doesn't fit with anyone on here but I actually really enjoyed the performance of Deadringer and CHSIB, So in my book that makes it good.

I have seen many performances and heard many recordings where I didn't think the sound/performance was much good and people have said how good it was.
Take for instance the acoustic performance on radio 2 and capital gold.
I thought on those occasions the performance was not too great but people were saying that certain songs were the best versions they had ever heard, but I suppose that if they enjoyed it then that makes it good.

i thought that dead ringer sounded great, the best in a long while, i agree with renagade about some of the acostic versions of the song although anything for love was brilliant. But at the end of the day i guess that everyone has there own choices and preferences! :)

MEAT LOAF TRIBUTE 09 May 2003 13:18

DEAD RINGER

i thought it was ok
some people on here actually think they r better than meat loaf !
