In Search Of Paradise Deal
According to this site "In Search Of Paradise" is going international!:
24 September 2007 Atlas Media Corporation Deal For Meat Loaf DocumentaryAtlas Media Corporation has reached an exclusive international distribution deal for its feature documentary 'Meat Loaf: In Search Of Paradise' with UK-headquartered 3DD Entertainment. Under the agreement, 3DD will begin selling the full-length documentary film and a one-hour TV version at MIPCOM next month. The film, which was produced by Atlas Media in association with Rainbow Media’s VOOM HD Networks and directed by Bruce David Klein (Atlas Media’s president and executive producer), follows the multi-platinum rock icon Meat Loaf as he sets out on his most ambitious worldwide tour to date. Featuring extraordinary behind-the-scenes access, the documentary captures dynamic, intimate and sometimes intense moments as we follow the singer on and off stage through the tour rehearsals, first shows, and ultimately, through the first leg of his worldwide tour. The film was an official selection of the Montreal World Film Festival and is set for a US Theatrical Release in January 2008. Meat Loaf: In Search Of Paradise is Atlas Media’s first theatrical documentary feature, and its distribution deal marks the first between 3DD and Atlas. Kirby said: “We are proud to kick off our theatrical division with this entertaining portrait of an international icon like Meat Loaf, who has never before allowed cameras to document his creative process. “It is most fitting that 3DD Entertainment, a company with a widely successful international track record with both music and film properties is nurturing this project abroad.” |

I was reading it this way that they sell it to cinema's and tv (hence the 1 hour tv version).
but reading it again i cant find anything that woud imply this. :? |
watched the 60 mins of search of paradise last nigh (the 60 mins version), it's really really good. get yourself registered and watch the program over at

With it being a High Def production, there has been a few small independant media companies, who have jumped onto the High Def Media band wagon recently in Europe, so it may be a release on High Definition Media, just a thought. :D

IN SEARCH OF PARADISE...
... Anyone else seen it yet? I caught about the first 10 mins this morning but too busy at work!
Thoughts? |
Don't we have to wait for the DVD to be released in a few weeks time first? :P
|
I'm trying to resist and wait for the DVD.....which is hard as I'm impatient
|
I'm still confused! Is it on the net?
|
I dunno, I got sent a link from one of the universal guys to a place that is showing a 60 minute edit for it.
You've to sign up but I think they only accept people in the music industry? Where is it you know of RJ? |
It isn't just for the record company, Markham posted a link to it a good few days ago. it's in another thread somewhere.
RJ, I gave into temptation  |
I'm days behind with everything!!!

....and I was so impatient that I got up again in the middle of the night and listened to it as one of the first! lol |

It was a good watch! I totally read everything wrong though. I thought it followed the process of the Bat album being made. I'm sure I read somewhere that they were filming and then the Steinman thing happened! I was waiting for all that stuff.
|
I have to confess I gave into temptation yesterday and watched it on 3DD. It was a fantastic watch, Cant wait to watch the full 90 minute programme.

Anyone know when the dvd is due out in the US? Amazon.com lists October 16 but it is not available for pre-order. I don't even see it listed on other sites.
|
I think they're importing from the UK. I don't think Virgin/EMI (Meat's US Label) have the rights to the DVD. Anyone else know?
|
Quote:
http://http://www.amazon.com/Meat-Lo...1608129&sr=1-3 It doesn't indicate if it's an import or which record company is distributing it. Vicki |
I'd say its unlikely to be a european import, as it says NTSC as format.

Totally agree, thats what I was looking for! I thought it was good, but a bit gutted it didn't involve that. I did feel Meat was playing to the cam a bit!
|
I don't know there. Maybe sometimes but I thought in general, its wasn't acted, but the truth... Come on, how many artists do you see lying on the floor after each show? not many... :-)
Maybe the other 30mins is devoted to the recording in the studio.... |
Quote:
Still resisting to watch it... |

The falling on the floor looked staged to me, maybe in the 70's! I loved the part where they dubbed the album vocals over meat performing live! Sorry RJ :P |
Yeah, the collapse on the floor seemed a bit dramatic, and Meats said he's an actor first.
The only way Paradise would be looking non-pervy is if they scrapped it altogether. Seems to me Meat is on a good number snogging and touching up Aspen  Pud  |
I thought the collapse to the floor was genuine, imo.
I am sure Meat does look forward to doing Paradise with Aspen for various reasons;) |
There's absolutely no doubt that after a gig Meat is completely bushwacked, but he seemed to be playing up for the camera's a bit.
Pud  |
What is the meaning of "buckwashed"?
Haven't seen the video yet (will waiting for the dvd), but by reading the review of a security member of the Munich 2007 concert [They (the ambulance men?) needed to breathing Meat 5min that he could at least stand on his feets) it seems not for me that he is acting the thing. |

gave in and watched it
my thoughts: Now I finally know how to handle my hair! |
I like that word bushwacked! I would take it meaning knackered?
I do know that Meat did have oxygen at, at least one of the shows on the last lot of the UK dates. |
it was very interesting to take a look backstage, though the production was a bit too melodramatic for my taste, with the music and all that
|
I was expecting something more existantial. There are rare moments of intensity, maybe what you call melodramatic, but for me, those are the best 'cause it's when he drops the mask...
I only watched the 60 minutes available, so, I can be surprised with the full version. Pa†ricia |
i think the most emotional moment was

Back to something mentioned earlier in the thread...I took Meat laying on the floor as completely genuine. I've had lower back problems since my twenties, a few years ago ;), Jules comment was that's exactly what I do when my back is really bothering me. I didn't see any "collapse", just him laying down that way to try and get his back to feel better.
Thought the thing was pretty good, I'm looking forward to seeing it all, think we get it here around Nov. 20 in the US. You lucky ~~~~~~~s across the sea! :D T |
I didn't know Meat had lower back problems, I'm not surprised he has, but I didn't know he had.
Pud  |
watched it.. didn't particularly enjoy it, in my opinion the only positive bit is it shows meat to be a perfectionist... however at the expense of his own health/happiness
