Possible it was a body suit so it matched up close to ml skin. Like they made a mold of his body and made a replica of his chest.

Anything even vaguely related to horror/supernatural, and my brain goes into meltdown, which means I can't analyse how the effects are done. How on earth do you guys manage to focus on that?

Or maybe it stemmed from another thread (one for the girls) where we wondered if it was actually Meat's real skin for the whole/part/none of that scene, so we began theorising about how it could be his real skin at least until the cutting or even pulling off.:twisted:

Just take the fear/repulsion out of it, and look at the technical side and it doesn't bother you.
