Yeah I'm sure I read somewhere that Peter Kay is a fan.

Also Vic Reeves is a Meat fan

The evidence is there in the shows. Dead Ringer gets a mention in the first series, in the second series, one of the cast does a Meat impersonation, I think it was young Kenny.

Yeah I've said that before. Also on 'Live At The Top Of The Tower' "Bat" plays on an organ in the background before the show starts as the camera pans around the crowd.

Bon Jovi, Chilli Peppers

I'm currently doing two night shifts a week at Sainsbury's while I'm at uni and I was drifting off on my last shift about to fall asleep is the asile when, in the background, a Peter Kay CD was playing and he said 'please welcome, Meat Loaf' to which Peter Kay pretended to be the man himself and sang Bat- it did wake me up.
Also I was listening to Talk Sport one night a few years ago and Charlie Wolf said when he was interviewing Jon Bon Jovi one time he said who are r influences and Jon replied with 'I get a lot of stage tips from Meat Loaf, I always ask him about performing on stage'- so there, one rock God taking performance techniques from another.
If anyone recalls VH1's 100 greatest men in music Meat came in at number 26 and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers were praising him, saying how his live performances are amazing so he's got more celebrity fans there.

Are you sure you weren't hearing the Phoenix Nights DVD where Young Kenny performs 'Bat' on Stars in Their Eyes?

These are two really interesting points. I am not surprised that Meat is held in high regard amongst other artists - I'm sure they recognise what a hard-worker he is, and how he's managed to battle for nearly thirty years with a relatively heavy 'unfashionable' tag on his head. I'm sure a lot of performers have a healthy deal of respect for Meat. Personally, I love Meat's out-look on life (at least, that which he portrays in public). By this I mean him saying that 'success' is giving everything you've got to give, and also the way he seesm t o appreciate that the his fans are the people that keep him in his job, and I think he looks after his fans and listens to what they say. Just my opinion - the way I interpret certain things he's said.

On the 'That Peter Kay Thing' DVD, the episode about the youngsters working as Ushers at the MEN arena, Peter Kay plays a security guard for the stars, and he mentions Meat Loaf as one of his clients. :D

His performances are first class and he comes accross as a really nice man. The Jack Dee thing mentioned I believe comes from TOTP2 last year, totally inappropriate given the circumstances.

truth is once you've seen Meat perform live very little ( if anything ) tops it.

Peter Kay is a big fan - He isn't registered on here but I believe he visits occasionally (or has done in the past!)

Terry Wogan is a fan of the Steinman penned material.

Nell McAndrew is a bit of a fan and apparently has been known to belt out the occasional version of Paradise on karaoke.
