:twisted: Well,it's hard to explain :? .
Basically it's a 20 foot tall metal "object".
It has the head and limbs of a lamb,and a banana shaped body.It is painted bright yellow.
I'm sure that a group of modern artists got together and had a bet who could sell the most pointless piece of scrap to a large city as a piece of art.
Liverpool city council made this artist the winner :lol: .

hi all,

Chris i must say im not very keen on Lowrys portraits, however some of his city scapes i believe to be quite good. i must admit i am not a fan of modern art or sculptures. near where i live they are planning to errect three 12 foot high scollop shells made of iron, in memory of Benjiman Briton. what shells have to do with a composer i don't know!

some sculptures such as those produced by Barbara Hepworth i find soothing. the flowing lines and forms of the shapes have a certain calming influence (or so i think). however this i must admit is the only type of sculpture i like. things such as a bed or a cow or things that are a distorted version of something real do not appeal to me at all. however your lamb bannana does sound quite interesting Flying Mouse!

Well, did you know that the paintings of Salvador Dali are very sexual loaded??? In some paintings he painted some strange things, than can be explained as an sexual problem that he has. As i'm correctly some of the paintings have sexual names.

Frank Lloyd Wright build some great houses. They are one with the nature...so that means, less walls, no doors, and an open character. His houses are build in the middle of the nature. One has a tree in the middle of it, another an huge waterfall.

Think the Cristal Church is a beautifull building in the USA... don't know where it stands... but it is very nice.

i look up and find out about the artists you mention and i do not know :D
I knew nothing about Hundertwasser..so had to look him up...had a look at some work by Gaudi also, some beautiful and amazing buildings, so different.
Ialso had a look at..Mies van der Rohe., though only a little did not find much visual material,so based on what i managed to look at.....prefer Gaudi and Hundertwasser

I've bought a beautifull book, called: All Great American Pin-Up

In it all kind of paintings from pinup girls... like on Welcome to the Neighbourhood and CHSIB covers from ML albums.

It is really great to see! And i love the way it is painted / drawn.

Me too... it is very from the '50 and '60 years.... That is pretty cool. The picture in that book also. It looks really nice. Love that kind of art.... and you know.... it is a bit Pop-Art like....

Are you familiar with the Architect Philippe Starck??? It is an architect that made nice buildings... He is one of the 4 architects from the Groninger Museum. This is a very strange building, but nice to see.

Did you know, that the (in Dutch) "minoische beschaving", think it is called in English Minoic Civilication, from 1500 before Christ disseappeerd due to a vulcano erruption???

This erruption was so big, that the city was under so much ash, and they found it completely and in tact. Also some people managed to escape, but others died.
This vulcano erruption was followed by some huge waves of water, and so it was destroyed.

But the people that managed to survive, the lived for over, at least 50 years somewhere else... near a island.
Another part of the dissapearing is that they didn't obay the king any more. They thought that he could rule everything, even mother nature. Due to the vulcano and the huge waves, they started to dislike the king. The tried other things to keep mother nature calm.. like offering their childeren. So this civilazation bacame week.. and the greeks took over everything.

Heheh, read a great book today. and saw a video about it. That was nice to see... and learnt a bit more about it.
It is soooo cool, that (art) history!
