Well it's not exactly a 10 minute tribute to Norwegian Death Metal..so i'm not sure what you could call it other then a ballad.

Bluegrass?,
Hip Hop?
Rap?
Folk?
Boyband Bubblegum Pop?

By the way, my vote would be two out of three ain't bad,

By the way is I abstain from voting a hidden track or is it just Meat's personal view of the forthcoming elections? :)

According to several sources on the net i.e. google  the word ballad (note the spelling for the illiterate ) has the following meaning

A popular song especially of a romantic or sentimental nature.
A ballad is a poem usually set to music; thus, it often is a story told in a song.
Any popular narrative poem, often with epic subject and usually in lyric form.

I think we can safely say Objects fits within the definition of ballad :))

 It was the original lyrics to Amnesty Is Granted :p

RadioMaster 26 Aug 2008 15:51

I thought it was Meat Loaf's latest song about the US election 08?

 it took Pud's post for me to spot the actual title of this thread...and maybe the first day back at work after a long bank holiday weekend does funny things to me, because this had me chuckling out loud.

As for my vote, it was between so many of them for so many reasons - lyrics, tune, general production of the song, that I applied the highly scientific method of picking one at random from the songs that mean most the me personally. And I aint tellin you what I picked :-P

:lmao:

mikeloaf 27 Aug 2008 00:52

For me, Meat's best song is 'For Crying Out Loud' above all others. I have never heard him do it live (DVD,CD's excepted), but I would love to.

allrevvedup 27 Aug 2008 17:04

i'm not sure I would at this stage...one of those where , for me, the original can't be topped.

Battybarb 27 Aug 2008 18:51

I have heard "For Crying Out Loud"live,it was just awesome....bought tears to the eyes...

RadioMaster 27 Aug 2008 22:04

Me too i like on the album its just Meat and the piano, but Live it seems that the backing vocals come in too early for me, they should wait till the second verse to come in like on the album. That's what ruined it for me on the Melbourne CD and DVD.

:kickass:

djfierce 27 Aug 2008 22:57

ooh picky methinks....i think the melbourne one sounds more real...you really notice the sped up effect on the album when listening to the two...a reason why i prefer the live all revved up versions too

allrevvedup 27 Aug 2008 22:58

yeah i'll give you that, the original version of all revved up sounds very dated...i prefer the live around the world version

djfierce 27 Aug 2008 23:10

thats my fave version too :-)

AndrewG 27 Aug 2008 23:14

FCOL on MSO. However Objects in RAH was amazing too. :D
