No. (I don't mean to sound abrupt, but I wanted to save you time).

Meat and co I agree with all said and I enjoed seeing the lopez show from mlukfc (thanks uploaders) I thought it was great and that lopez was respectful even enthusiastic, the only thing is that having this album I know how brilliant it is and to show more of this album like song of madness (my fav and ring tone) would show how awesome it was but all the same L.A is a good song xx

O'brien sucks, he was haemorraghing viewers at an unbelievable rate. Granted Leno's show wasn't that much better. NBC could've handled it better, but they did the right thing by showing O'brien the door.
Part of the reason O'Brien did so poorly was because Jay Leno set up camp with a primetime show at 10 pm prior to Conan's show. Who is going to watch that many hours of talk shows in one night? Then they had to compete for guests too. Jay should have just bowed out gracefully. Personally, I thought Jay's primetime show was much worse than Conan's show but if I watch a late night show, it's usually Letterman.

Anyway back on topic... Meat on Leno.

If it's like Letterman, the musical guest always sings last at the end of the show. Really annoyed, our HD channel was showing Jay Leno at the start of the year, then took it off to show obscure soaps that are a million years old!!!! :(

Nick 08 Oct 2010 06:38

The band totally rocked it. Meat Did Well. Song sounds good live

Dave 08 Oct 2010 06:40

THAT is what a Meat Loaf performance is all about. The days of the bombastic mad man too large for TV performances was BACK tonight on Leno!!! Paul totally rocked it and Patti was whaling like her life depended on it.

Fire Fall be proud of yourself!!!

Wario 08 Oct 2010 06:40

It rocked, meat did a great job.

What happened to CC?

meatfanforlife 08 Oct 2010 06:42

AndrewG 08 Oct 2010 08:14

For people not in the States / Australia, at the moment you can see this mono-right-channel audio only version on YT:

YouTube Video

It was good, perhaps a bit too "punk" rather than rock (as it sounds like a constant climax) for my liking once the first chorus kicks in. But yeah, definitely great effort. Wish we'd seen this kind of stuff on UK TV.

RadioMaster 08 Oct 2010 08:16

it was okay...better than Los Angeloser

allrevvedup 08 Oct 2010 08:41

better than I thought it would be

Wario 08 Oct 2010 08:50

0:30 - 0:58 was, ill admit, off putting a bit. Meat and the tempo weren't really getting along. i think meat needs to lower the tempo on that for the future leg.....

It really picked up after the first verse though.

1:50 to the end was the BEST.

easily the best live on TV meat we've gotten in like 5 years, ~~~~ing great job

They did a ~~~~ing awful job with the tv mix though

I want more of this song live on tv!!!

robgomm 08 Oct 2010 10:15

Not bad not bad, didn't like it being shortened a bit though.

Monstro 08 Oct 2010 10:23

I really enjoyed that, cheers for posting Andrew, soooooo much better than LA and wasn't Patti bloody awesome as well!!!!

Roll on the tour!!!!!

Wario 08 Oct 2010 11:21

also .. wheres dave?

robgomm 08 Oct 2010 11:38

Well it wasn't a very big stage so i guess they were restricted on how many people they could fit on.

Anyway, good performance, should have been the lead off song instead of los angeloser, although that did attract some peoples ears (my mother in law).

Mr. Happy 08 Oct 2010 12:06

I'll admit I was a bit apprehensive while waiting for it to load on YouTube, considering the less than great performances of Los Angeloser live on TV, but this...this was amazing :D Best live TV performance in a very, very long time :D

Sue K 08 Oct 2010 12:30

As stated yesterday, my recorder's on the fritz so before nodding out last night, I left on the tv with the channel tuned to the one Leno appears with hopes 'Imself's voice would wake me and... lol ... It's probably too costly to fly so many people out to California just for one song.

I think the song sounded better on Leno than at the live shows. Sometimes at the live shows there can be too much music and too much backing vocals. The smaller band really rocked- Great arrangement, great vocals by Meat & Patti, just a perfect mix.

I got the feeling from watching Meat during the song, and when it ended, that he was really happy and enjoying himself.

Sarge 08 Oct 2010 16:46

Best TV performance of a HCTB song so far. He always appeared tired when doing Los Angeloser, but not this time with Living On The Outside, seems as if the old energy is back. Finally he sang a ROCK song on TV again, after all these years full of tearjerkers and the rather weak performances of Los Angeloser. A bit like it was in the 1980s, that's the Meat Loaf I became a fan of. Also liked the fact that Leno had he vinyl LP on his desk.

He should be very proud. It's the best I've ever heard the song and they were all having so much fun which translated into the performance. It was an exceptional edit and the "hey, hey" vocal section with Patti & Justin was also a better arrangement than at the live show. Excellent job by Meat & the NLE.

I am not deaf, and I honestly thought it was not a great performance, I have seen worse, the Dead Ringer RVP was not great, but I have seen much much better. :(

But I am not going to really judge or slate from a Youtube clip, just wanna see Meat live in Dec. :-)

Who cares, they bought the album cos they liked the chorus, therefore the exposure meant Meat sold more albums. Job done i would say :-)
Not everyone is gonna have liked the performance, thats the way it is. Exposure did the job it was supposed to, got people talking about Meat, the album, and whether to buy it. The choice still lies with the consumer, the problem lies if you don't get the exposure, cos then people can't decide about an album they know fuc,k all about !

I'm highly suspicious that some kids bought an whole album just because they liked the chorus of one song sung on Leno, (kids watch Leno?) it sounds like a good story though.

THE SONG NEVER FELL APART. YOU KNOW AS MUCH ABOUT MUSIC AS A DEAD ELK. BE GLAD YOU ARE NOT IN SAME ROOM WITH ME RIGHT NOW !! AGAIN NOT EVEN CLOSE TO BEING OUT OF TUNE !!!

Wario 11 Oct 2010 03:32

Off tempo isnt the same as out of tune.

Meat was fantastic vocally, just the first verse's tempo was not kind. I personally think that it needs to be slowed down a tad and allow Justin to follow meat's voice. like what happens on the intro to AFL....
