Meat

Just realised what Meat said here - poster ads in the UK from Monday? Publicity?

AWESOME!!!!

dukesofhazard 20 Feb 2010 20:24

Poster ads from Monday? It's hard enough waiting til April as it is!!!!!!!!

Any chance some tour dates can be announced too so I can make sure I can get the time off work? ;)

Sue K 20 Feb 2010 20:43

would someone please take a picture of billboards advertising the new album and post to the forum for those outside the UK ?... that would be great... ta !

Steve6 20 Feb 2010 20:51

I'm guessing there's going to be a TV ad done for the album too? I hope so it will spread the message across faster and to more people.

Kathy 20 Feb 2010 23:38

wise words

Meat, you have packed a lot into this post. After reading it several times I finally just saved it to my desktop. What you've said here is very inspirational, and I'm taking your message(s) to heart.

As always,

It's Sunday now, and this thread has turned into a religious ceremony by the sounds of it :boohoo:

The Gospel according to Meat Loaf. Let us pray

I'm listening to the great Mahalia Jackson right now. More divine than any sermon I've read on this forum so far. :-P

And no religion, or indeed any, holds exclusive rights to decent principles of fairness, openness, truth, development, and moving forward with hope and a positive outlook .. you don't need to go to, or be of a church to find or follow them. But they tend to be needed more often than they're practised -and no offence meant also ;)

 Even on an old, crackling vinyl record her voice sounds amazing - one of the most passionate singers I've ever heard.

Back to topic: That tweet about the group on Facebook... Does that group have the same purpose as that group that made an old Rage Against the Machine song climb to the top of the charts last year? That would be cool.

Meat did that to Ed while I was there as well, but Meat thought the guy with the camera was taking a picture, but the guy were filming, so I guess they had to shoot it again.

I wish Meat had made a film during the presentation. That could have been fun :-) But at least he mentioned the 10 contest winners :-P

dukesofhazard 28 Feb 2010 00:22

Any idea what Meat's doing at Playstation.com as he mentioned in the billboard tweet?

Will PS3 owners such as myself be able to download any Hang Cool Teddy Bear stuff from them? That would be pretty sweet.

That's how Meat started the "pitch" on Friday.

Would be great if one day the whole pitch could appear on youtube so every fan can see Meat's enthusiasm for the album. How about it Meat?

Didn't Meat say in an interview once that if he hadn't been a rockstar or actor he'd have been a teacher? I know he coached little league softball (or baseball or whatever it is you Americans call rounders :p) ) in years gone by so he's clearly got a "way" with kids.

It looks like I can't see Meat's latest Twitter-tweet unless I join Facebook. Is that true? I think of Facebook as a giant time-sink and that's why I'm not there; I communicate with my friends other ways :) Maybe I'm the last holdout in the known universe? and maybe beyond, lol?

Kathy,
His latest tweet is only on facebook. He is searching for a long lost friend from Texas and this person was in the service, has moved around and Meat is trying to find said person "on" facebook to be "his friend" (a facebook term).

I think there are several other hold outs not joining Facebook. I've found friends from 30 years ago on Facebook. It has it's time +'s.

Sarge 01 May 2010 05:17

Kathy, you're just reasonable. :D I'm not on Facebook and I can see it. So the problem can't be due to not having an account.

Thanks for the latest (6) tweet pics Meat.

suzieq 13 Aug 2011 06:34

After a hectic week...I had zero time to comment about all the latest raining twitter/FB vids Meat posted. I figured I'd organize my thoughts and plop them all here instead of trying to play catch up all over the place.

I watched Vol. 15 which gave us titles for three songs: All Of Me, The Giving Tree, and Our Love In Our Souls...with Meat's body language and heavenly rolling eyes teasing/describing the songs, I can't help but to get antsy to hear the album/CD. It was sooooo cool to watch him fall in love with HCTB, and he looks so proud to be able to present another quality album (child #2 perhaps). Equally loved but for different reasons. I wonder what new surprises Meat has in store.

It's looking like Meat has his foot on the throttle with no chance of letting up...HIAHB, CD of Unknown Title (to us/not to him), DVD, and Hot Holidays.. SO AWESOME! Yet, he takes the time out to answer Q&A, pose for pics, sign autographs at shows, and stop by here. It's just something I don't take for granted.

I do wonder if Meat is still approached due to his popularity from Celebrity Apprentice or if things have died down. Because it seemed like in the video he was trying to answer the question about gambling in AC. He said "no", and it looked like he was about to explain why....but took us on a Meat-tangent. I love Meat-tangents by the way, he gives an answer way more than you could ever expect when he does that. Now I just digressed. Anyway, I thought he was going to say, he doesn't go down to gamble because of Celebrity Apprentice. But he turned into a $10 million whore somehow. LOL!

I wondered also, if Meat had made all those phone calls to his friends for operation Hot Holidays. Did they all say "yes"? We'll find out soon enough though. Surely, can't trust the press with accurate information. ;)

A final thought, I had to rewatch Vol 15. several times because I was focused on what he was saying, but when he got to the singing in the shower...I cracked up. Wake Up Little Suzie is now secured and downloaded onto my alarm clock. GREAT STUFF! Something so simple makes me so happy!!!

I say keep the Q&A coming when time permits. I'm going to aim for getting a question answered for volume 19 whenever that should happen. It's my lucky number/soccer jersey number. So, it's a bit special to me.

Because it seemed like in the video he was trying to answer the question about gambling in AC. He said "no", and it looked like he was about to explain why....but took us on a Meat-tangent. My guess would be yes .. and that playing the poker tables has become as tricky as popping into the deli for a bit of low fat cheese ;)

And of course I forgot to comment on something....vol 13.

One thing: I almost lept off my seat when he described the animation pilot. I asked on FB a while ago if he would consider doing animation...his answer was yeah, if they call I'll be there. And low and behold we hear this news about his pilot animation endeavor. FANTASTIC! SPUD by naptime.....STUD at nighttime. WHoo hoo!

Second thing: Acts 1 and 2 for the 2012. Just PLEASE put Florida on for the leg.....BOOH from start to finish just dropped my jaw. AND for the possibility to hear For Crying Out Loud LIVE.....I'm ecstatic for that alone!!!!!!!!!! Of course, I'm going to be on the hunt for an intimate venue to travel to as well. THEN, perhaps a LIVE CD of the 2012 tour can be squeaked out. I know the tour hasn't happened yet. BUT the setlist is devine already...I won't want that show to EVER end.

So many treats!
