Yorkshire Puddings can be served with any roast! Preferably as a starter with any leftovers (not that I've ever seen any leftover yorkies!) being served as dessert!

Bread Sauce however can only be served with chicken and is a food of the gods!!

It was a regular thing to find my Mum in the kitchen after Sunday lunch finishing off the Yorkshire puddings having covered them in golden syrup

I'm sorry but I refuse to cover good meat in something that looks like rotting milk.

AndyK 24 Jul 2007 15:28

Pease Pudding :barf:

It ranks there with mushy peas and jellied eels (which I can only describe as snot in a bucket).

Yes indeed ... drowning in vinegar and preferably served with Harry Ramsden's best!

LucyK! 24 Jul 2007 16:27

That's a measure of how crap I feel today - even Harry Ramsden's doesn't appeal  :panic:

I'm with the popular opinion here on Bread Sauce .... yuk! :silence: It's sausage meat stuffing and cranberry sauce for us with chicken and for us none Yorkies it's Yorkshire puddings ONLY with roast beef.

Pease pudding, mushy peas, jellied eels .................. :barf:

Diane

AndyK 24 Jul 2007 17:16

Great more Bread Sauce for me then :cheer:

As for the Yorkies debate ... trust the experts who were born and bred their ... they can and should be eaten with anything! :))

Well I'll make you a deal ... when Meat plays the Channel Islands ... you roast the chicken and provide all the pother trimmings and I'll make the Yorkies and the Bread Sauce! :))

mszee 24 Jul 2007 17:29

You're on! The Bread Sauce would be all yours though! :lmao:I'd even conjure up one of the local specialities for desert ... Gache Melee served with lashings of fresh Guernsey cream. Now we just need Meat to announce the Channel Islands in his tour schedule! ;)

Making me hungry too but then food is the topic of this thread!

1. Let me know when this get together is happening...this dinner sounds about the same as air ticket in terms of luxury...:lmao:

2. If it is invisible to hungry people, there is no need to lock it up or anything like that...just invisible to hungry people...I think it's a splendid idea...

There's some concern here as neither Andy or myself know what Gache Melee is...better not be shellfish! :p

Would I serve you shellfish for desert? ... we're having that for starters :lmao:I guarantee you'd like Gache Melee. It's a traditional Guernsey spicy apple pudding.
