MONSTRO.....i totally agree.
Been a BIG ML fan for sooooo long, but tonight i sat here a bit bemused why this came about.
No doubt meat's voice is still good as ever, but should of been patti alongside him.Probably not what the 'TV' people wanted though. Roll on the album....

RadioMaster 12 Feb 2010 23:15

Meat was good, but that woman...:lmao:

Im laughing so hard here my sides hurt!!!

Guy 12 Feb 2010 23:19

Any-way.....1 last tit-bit.
Is there any...any...any slim chance that meat could do the download festival in june.?

clem 12 Feb 2010 23:25

dukesofhazard 12 Feb 2010 23:29

It's an opera programme hence the opera singer. It's not like she'll be replacing Patti on the tour guys! Relax! I do think it would have been operatic enough (and better) with just Meat singing with that arrangement, but still thoroughly enjoyed the performance.

Anyway, what's going to happen next week though (aside from Bernie winning)?! It'll be the last fix of Meat on TV here (that we know of) and then we have to wait exactly 2 months for the album!! It's gonna be tough!

At least there's still twitter

clem 12 Feb 2010 23:31

audacious, creativity, the two themes perfectly combined, just watched again, as the man says ' go with the time and place dude !'

The - Loaf - Is - Back

Alright, negative first:

I think the opera style voice of the girl didnt fit the song AT ALL.

now the good stuff:
After watching this, I seriously doubt those last years with the vocal problems ever occured.
Meat didnt just belt out the song like he did so frequently, he was actually vocally in control, yet had a power in his voice I havent heard in years.
Good thing that he took a new approach to the song, and didnt just run through the old routine the 4586th time.
The arrangement was interesting, reminded me of that Royal Philharmonic album from the nineties. He should definitely do a whole show with just him and an orchestra, that would be something interesting.
Lastly: Kudos to Mr. Loaf for actually competing vocally with a professionally trained opera singer.
He's good at what he does, but it takes A LOT to play on the same level as those people. He risked a lot when he went on stage with that girl, but he won 100%.

--> now off to pop in the MSO DVD. :D

Benny 13 Feb 2010 00:10

F**king AMAZING Voice!!!

Meat kicked ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

christa 13 Feb 2010 00:14

Meat, I actually enjoyed that, and I can't stand opera!!!!!!!

He looked happy, healthy and was enjoying himself!

madagascar 13 Feb 2010 00:23

He nailed it, nailed it, nailed it. Yiiiihaa!:D:D

SuperLoafMan 13 Feb 2010 00:27

Have to say, I thought that "BAT" was absolutely brilliant. Meat sounded in great voice and the different style to BAT was great.

I know we have all heard the rock ballard it is known for but I really did think it was great! Me and my brother watched it a couple of times and I thought it was great. The crowd loved it!! Well Done Meat!!

AndrewG 13 Feb 2010 00:32

Fab performance. Well done Meat! :))
