Just wondering if anyone has a preferred place/time to listen to Meat? For me, it's when we go the Lake District and we put the Bat albums on in the car on the way there and back.
Not sure if any of you are familiar with the A66 Scotch Corner to Penrith road, but I love going along there! A few miles along from Scotch Corner it's idylic English countryside, looked particularly nice today with the sun shining on parts of it, other parts in shadow. Then you're driving through moorland as far as your eyes can see, it's very Wuthering Heights sort of scenery (especially today with the rain and mist!) for a good few miles. When you get to the other end, you're almost at the Lake District, beautiful countryside views on your left below you, and later you're in the middle of the Cumbrian mountains and lakes. I really enjoy driving (well, being driven!;) ) along there with one of the Bats blasting from the car CD player. Awesome music, stunning views...and it was the way I first heard Bat II properly when i was 11, except we weren't going via the A66, we went via Hexham then.
Only problem with A66 is that it's sometimes dual carriageway, sometimes single lane, and there's never a dual carriageway when you need one! I have to be travelling at least 60mph to really enjoy listening to the albums, and if you get caught behind a large wagon or lorry on the single lane, it somehow defies the whole point of "bat out of hell"! Got stuck behind one today just as BFG came on, I wasn't happy! Max speed then was 40mph. 'I wasn't built for comfort, I was built for speed'! 'Put your foot on the gas, let it go!' BFG is just one of those songs where you need to be travelling a lot faster than 40mph!

Ohhh... sounds great!!!

I like listening to Meat first thing on a Sunday morning, when i'm up with the boys. Sunday morning is my cleaning time, i start at one end of the house, and work through, and i love to listen to Meat when i'm doing it, especially when i have the hoover on so i hafta turn the volume up!!! Good job the neighbours sleep like the dead!!!

Also love to listen to Meat when driving from here to Manchester - i get on the motorway, start singing along... and before i know it i'm at my sisters!!!

Have put all the tracks from the Meat Loaf CD's I have onto one CD in wma format and the disc lives in the first slot of three trays (Can't remember what's in the other two) of my hi-fi/mp3/wma/CD/DAB radio player. It shuffles and plays the songs in a random order and it stays on all night but plays low so as not to wake the neigbours.

In the car with the volume turned up of course! Most of my albums are in the car ( I think I have actually blown a speaker listening th 'Monster' too loud!!)
The only other time is at school when I annoy my pupils by putting on a CD during a lesson. I get complaints like 'my mum listens to this stuff!', but I don't care. it makes teaching Year 8 Graphics a little more bareable.
I have managed to use a Meat Loaf song for an assembly once - A kiss is a terrible thing to waste - pumping out over our new sound system in the hall. Awesome!!!

I listen to Meat all the time, on I-Tunes on my laptop, when I'm doing the housework, but my favourite time is in the car on the way down to Chelmsford for work - that's probably why I manage 120mph down the bypass next to Stanstead Airport

I hope you use external speakers for that laptop! ;)

I like listening to Meat while in a jacuzzi full of Playmates, while drinking Southern Comfort.

Seriously, for me the Bat albums are best appreciated at 2 am, in total darkness, on a good pair of headphones.

Mostly in my car, which I spend alot of time in and not always by choice. Because when I listen whilst driving there are always other distractions so annoying songs are more noticable, as are volume levels that are inconsistant.
The first part of BAT 3 causes a problem for me in this way, but the second part seems much more consistant and enjoyable. I don't mean this to sound like it does but all except IACBTMN I just want to skip half way through because the changes in volume just gets annoying- have I just said that?- whereas Monstro onwards its more balanced. Its a personal thing of course!

I've said before that BAAB, TMIL and BFG where brilliant live at RAH. Like I say just an opinion!

I listen mostly in the car and occasionally at home when no-ones in to disturbe me on my PC media system, when I play air guitar and lead vocals!

Wherever and whenever.... :))

Most common places though, are during workouts on the treadmill, in the car, and on airplanes.

Favourite time has to be live on stage :) Next favourite, in the car on the way to a show!

The albums probably get most play in the car. Great to listen to when bucketing along a clear road .. but also when I'm stuck in one of those dead spaces behind a lorry .. I can enjoy the spaces and get lost in the music, rather than fume with impatience at the delay :)

Remember Meat saying when he gets his copy of a new album he puts it in the car to listen to? "That's where most people will listen to it!" :)

listen to them most when, working/painting...very inspirational .

also good is on a still summer evening when there's nothing but the silence and stillness of the night, ilike to go outside in the garden and listen to Meat Loaf...sounds amazing, just wonderful...try it sometime.

also listen to a lot in the car, on long journeys
