I think I know the site your talking about true it is bad and all. It is still not on limewire for everyone to download so it still could be worst. It could be on Napster.......but yeah it is Sad.......and I totally agree with you

Care to PM me that site? A partial URL is fine.
If I'm correct and I think that I am, this is the digitally recorded XM broadcast split into separate tracks. Even if it's the 320 kbps mp3, it's still far from CD quality.

I think people will listen to it just to hear the tracks but I doubt it'll stop anyone buying the CD...I'd bloody hope not anyway!

It's the complete songs, not any radio interview.

it is the radio interview with the interview parts taken out and songs seperated i believe

I've got the same. No chat, just the songs. However, I'll most certainly be buying the CD (and probably a spare, and the Vinyl, oh and maybe a special edition - not to mention the box set, oh and.. erm, you get the picture ;) ).

Yeah I agree. That site has got some good recordings of the broadcast. Miles better than the flimsy recording I did of the internet radio. That dude must have had satellite receiver quality or so. Still the sound will be even better on the album and "not buying a Meat Loaf album" simply does not appear in my vocabulary! I doubt this site will have a massive impact on the record sales as only the real hard core fans seems to know about it... But I am thinking maybe the owner should be respectful enough to delete the files soon (certainly once the album is out).

Just listening to "Blind as a Bat" (oh my god is this good!)

I hope it's the same one I came across yesterday or else this could be wider reaching than we think. If it is though, unfortunately that site has a history of ridiculing any legal threats and is apparently protected due both to the country that its based in and a technicality in its operations so no one's been able to touch it, so the file'll probably be there to stay. Knowing them, any efforts by lawyers will just get posted on a page they have for all threats of legal action and that'll just draw more attention to its availability (I had been considering bringing it to Meat's attention until I discovered this was the same site I'd read about before, back when that legal page had seemed funnier...).

Yeah the one Neil is using is one of the MLUK choices, it's not his own like SLMs for example....

Maybe I'm missing something, so someone tell me if I'm wrong. I'm not sure exactly which site you are all talking about. I know that a link to one site for the entire XM interview and play of the album has been posted here as well as other places, including .net.

I can't imagine that Meat Loaf and others were naive enough to think that with today's technology that the album wasn't going to recorded and the interview split apart so that the tracks were separated and then posted somewhere on the internet.

I'm pretty certain that since the interview, Meat Loaf has been to this site (and possibly others) multiple times - and in my opinion it was probably to see what people are saying about the album. It's almost like those of us aware of the more popular Meat Loaf sites are an inner circle of fans and ones that will give an honest review of what they are hearing and I think he obviously is interested in what is being said which is why he's been here.

I also know (because I asked) that not he or anyone else associated with him has asked that at least one of the downloads be removed. And if that was what he wanted, I think he would have asked (he knows who runs the site and who the mods are) and the request would have been honored.

So I think that maybe some of us are jumping the gun a bit here by thinking that this is all a bad thing. I believe that the majority of fans registered at this and other sites are going to be going right out and buying the actual CD when it is released - regardless of whether they have already downloaded it from the XM interview.

I mean look at all that was already "leaked" early - might it not be some of the intentional promotion of this album. It was plainly obvious before these fans heard the album that there was a great amount of controversy surrounding it and who was and was not producing and writing for it and what it should and should not be called - now we've all mostly heard it and can actually comment instead of speculate and go spread the word about the CD.

It's a new marketing age with all the new technology and the internet and the way that the word about bands and music gets shared. I think that possibly this was just part of that new marketing.

This is just my opinion. But I happen to like having the "rough" version of Bat III already - it's like I'm in on this wonderful little secret and just waiting for it to finally be shared with the world.

I agree, but until I know which site the downlocad is available from I and others can only specualte, which we can be dangerous!!! so can some one please pm the people including myself that have asked for the link. That way we can make our own minds up. I like others have the album on pre-order.
Thanks

Reading back through this thread, it strikes me that it was all done and dusted with the conversation that R had with stewbeef.

So, to save the specualtions going round and round in circles, let's put this one to bed for a while.
