I enjoyed reading the love and respect Meat received from young bands and guests at the Kerrang! Awards.

These are some of my favourite snippets:

8.17pm: Meat Loaf takes to the stage to present the Best Video award. And the room goes berserk. Seriously, folks, it goes berserk. People whooping, people hollering, people chanting his name, people making to the front of the stage to snap him with their mobile phone cameras, ringing their dad to say, "You'll never guess who's here!"

9.30pm: All that's left now are the goodbyes. And Meat Loaf's goodbye is taking longer than most. Everyone in the room wants to shake his hand, get an autograph, have their photograph taken. Dutch Elm Disease moves faster than Meat Loaf tonight.

Kean from Bring Me The Horizon: "We met Meat Loaf and shook his hand! He's the nicest guy ever!"
