And I have just been reliably informed by a nice American lady that Karla also was the lady who sang Dance in My Pants with Jim.

Interesting I read the mini biography about Karla on IMDB and wikipedia. I don't think it is true what it says about her being a back up singer for The E Street Band, fair enough she appeared on "Asbury Park" I think, but never live with the band. I believe Bruce Springsteen only had backup singers (excluding the E street boys) in the early days and then again with his current wife from the mid 80s on stage.
