After reading Jim's post on this matter, this sounds absolutely amazing! Although I am of course still looking forward to Bat III tremendously, if you could work with Jim on a Bat 30th Celebration Compilation album and include some of his new songs he's been talking about I think all your fans will faint with joy and happiness!
Cracking idea Meat, I hope it comes of the ground just like Bat 3 is!

that would be a great idea.
I can't really see it myself. If this was to happen, it would have to be released next year. With the release of Bat 3 in October, constant promotion for this album, possibly a tour for Bat 3, where on earth will Meat find the time to record any new material Jim has written. The only way he could do it, is if he recorded it now, whilst he is recording Bat 3. :D

I agree. It's difficult to see where Meat will get time. Hopefully if Steinman wants to take ownershp of production Meat can just go in the studio, lay down the lyrics and leave Jim to it while he promotes Bat 3.
Having said that I don't think we should get carried away. Bat 3 is the main focus at the moment. I for one am looking forward to that - a 30th birthday Bat would just be a bonus.

All we've heard so far is what Steinman would like to do, Meat might not be for it. Personally speaking though, I really do hope they bring out something special for the 30th Anniversary and not just have some half-assed effort like what happened with the 25th Anniversary Bat.

I don't see a big problem with recording 2 or 3 new songs for such a compilation album ("Paradise Lost" please!). I doubt it took months for the Greatest Hits album. If Jim were to be more involved in the music it would probably make it easier for Meat to concentrate on the vocals and continue touring in the next year.
