 Right, being an idiot, i've followed these instructions by....

Going to My Computer.
Right clicking Local Disc (C)
Selecting properties.
Disc clean up.
View temp net files.
Deleted everything there.
Emptied trashcan
Shut computer down.
Started computer up
Come back to forum.
Tried to access smilies again

Still no joy :(

Although I have the strangest feeling i'm not doing something right

As far as I can see, you are using Internet Explorer 6. In Internet Explorer, there's a menu called "Extras". Start again from there. As this clearly is a client issue, verify your Active Scripting settings. Active Scripting must be on. Do you see an error symbol like http://www.mlukfc.com/forums/images/icons/icon4.gif in the bottom left corner of your Internet Explorer window? If so, double click the symbol, what's the error message? Try a different forum style. Do you have some crap like Norton Internet Security running?

 Funny enough that last little comment helped :lmao:
Wasn't runing Norton, but had Spy Sweeper on.
Turned that off and all is well with the world :D
Thanks R.
