Jane Eaglen who is world famous, especially for her portrayal of Brunnhilde in Wagner's Ring Cycle, nearly always mentions her love of Meat in interviews, says she always listens to him before her performances and her dream is to sing with him. Well if Freddie could do it with Montserrat Caballe ......................!

Indeed Michelle. And let's not forget semi-classical Russell Watson. Meat taught him that singing rock is a whole different ball game to the classical stuff.

... when i was a wee tink... an opera troupe came to my school... and i just was SO not interested.. and i loved all types of music.. played in school band and orchestra through 9 years of my school life.. then many moons later.. i saw/ heard Meat and Pavarotti... and realized how ignorant i was... i enjoy opera very much now... thanks to being a Meat fan... :-) ...

I really enjoyed this bit, (especially as Bryn Terfel is world famous on opera circles): "Critics have yet to describe him (Meat Loaf) as "a guy with the body of Bryn Terfel and an exuberant performing style," but it can only be a matter of time, eh?" With Meat's new album looming I'm guessing Bryn Terfel could well find himself with even greater heights to climb before he achieves that status. ;)

According to a new interview in the Arizona Republic (http://www.azcentral.com:80/ent/arts/articles/2008/08/29/20080829eaglen.html) Jane Eaglen is still very interested to have Jim write a song for her and Meat Loaf. Would be very interesting if this was to ever happen:

A: I don't like the term "crossover" but I'd like to put my voice up against its exact opposite, the male rock sound. Jim Steinman, who writes much of Meatloaf's music, is a big Wagner fan. I was singing Tristan at the Met and saw him in the audience, and he came backstage to see me. "I just love Wagner, he said, "but I write rock music, because I can't write like Wagner." But there is a kind of grandeur to it. If he would write something for me and Meatloaf, I wouldn't say no.
