Hi all, i'm sure this is just me being unlucky but, when i read the info about Meat being on BBC1 on March 4th i got excited. But when i checked TV listings for that day i couldnt find anything about this show. Has anyone else experienced this or can anyone shed some light on this?

I have e-mailed BBC Northern Ireland and i am still waiting a reply on what date the special is being aired on tv. I do know however (due to the OIFC) that the programme is being recorded on March 4th and not actually going live that day.... so who knows how long it'll be until its actually on TV.
As soon as i hear more from BBC NI i'll post it here, they said a few days normally before they can reply.

It's for a show called "Changing Notes". Apparently both Meat Loaf and Russell Watson will be singing Bat Out Of Hell and Couldn't Have Said It Better!

http://www.kasiminfo.com/Gigs.html has a few more details but not much seems to have released so far!

 I hope to god this is some sick joke.
Russel Watson singing Bat Out Of Hell.
Bat Out Of Hell, the greatest song ever written BY FAR.
Bat Out Of Hell, the song that makes Mozart look like a beginner, and Wagner a gifted ameteure.
Bat Out Of Hell, the song that sold my soul to Rock & Roll on hearing less than 10 seconds of it.
You mean to tell me that when I die (in about 500 years or so) that i'm getting cremated to a song that has been sung by Russel F.....G Watson. .
I heard about the Shakira roumer.I panicked but I never lost faith.I trusted in Meat to have more integrety and sense.I will get down on my knees and pray to high heaven that this is another misunderstanding.
Don't forget what he did to Is Nothing Sacred.
Meat said on the ultimate albums documentery that the people who are into Bat Out Of Hell are pretty much fanatical, and he's right. He knows how people feel about that album.I don't believe that Meat would do that to us.
R.W. sang Is Nothing Sacred. Some things need to be.

I'm afraid it isn't a joke.
Guess who told me the news.

Hi Michel.
Acording to what has already been written (which seems pretty conclusive) it's Meat who is doing it.
I didn't get much sleep last night.I feel soul sick.
That song, that album means so much to me.
I'll keep hoping and believing though. After all,a man in the electric chair hopes for a reprieve until the very last second.
This might sound a little excesive, even silly to some people, but Meat singing with a third rate opera turned pop star (for that matter any pop star) who has already killed one of his songs is just incomprihensable to me.

Guys calm down it's just another TV show, It's my band it's my lighting guy
and we are in control. It's just promo, The Uk Record Co. Wants to promote the single. You may not like him But he sells between 500,000 and a million records in the Uk so somebody does, not everyone likes me
and what I do. It's no big deal it's not a serious show! It's just a goof!!

 Hey listen to Meat calm down lol!

Meat have fun!

Anyway I was talking to my Mum the other day she likes Meat now as I took some of his music to play to her, she reckons he would have been good at Opera singing and he should sing with Lesley Garrett.
What about that then?

Lights blue touch paper and runs..................

I do not want to start the latest discussion again, but I simply don't get it. People are coming here because they want some information about Meat Loaf. Meat Loaf finally joined here as a member and answers each and every question which he receives as a PM. I never expected this to happen and I'm sure that nobody of our members expected that too. Why do you think is he doing this? I'm pretty sure this has some marketing reasons, but I also think he wants to know what his fanbase thinks about CHSIB. On the other hand he (I do know he reaads a lot of posts here) obviously has to learn that his fans would like to get the new album/single for free via the internet. If you were in Meats position, would you like this? I bet not. Would you continue to talk to people who (i know this sounds very hard, but at the end of the day it is exactly that) are stealing your work? I bet not. However, all I can do about this is to keep telling you to think twice about that what you are asking here in these forums. There are more ways than just a public post to get in contact with another member.

I've said it before and I say it again:
DIST will not be released as a single in the UK. If you want to acquire it legally you have to order it in Germany. DIST is available in two flavours with reasonable prices at www.jpc.de for international delivery.

By the way, saying that you don't give away your cc data because your're afraid of fraud and therefore asking for an illegal download is quite ambivalent, isn't it?

Sorry for the long rant.

Just my 2 € Cents.

R., you took the words...

And for anyone afraid of buying online or feeling less privileged than Germany these days, I - like others already did - can offer to buy you a regular copy and ship it out to you on release date (3/31).
Just send me a private message(pm) with your address.

Thank you R. !!!!
Please rant all you want ... I couldn't agree more :))

I live in the United States, and had no problem buying the single through Amazon.com in Germany and a contact I made on Ebay. And I'll buy the new cd the same way when it comes out at the end of the month :-))

Thankfully these options are available to me ... but if they weren't, I'd be happy to wait until August and buy it when in becomes available in the US. I don't believe in bootlegging ... I would never consider downloading or posting full versions of the songs. It's stealing from Meat, and I would never do anything to hurt him ......

Just my 2 cents too :))

Sue, as usual, is so on the ball with updating her site, wish i could say the same sometimes! ;) Thanks for posting the review!

The tv taping was great -- Meat was funny and 'on' even moreso then i've ever witnessed in recent months, the band was amazing and even more tight and wonderful sounding then ever (is that even possible with these guys?! Kasim truly rules as MD!) and Patti and Pearl always sound great! I could've written a review that went on even longer then i actually did, there were so many cool things, visually and sound wise, but i figured i'd spare people my rambles about it all :)!

Sometimes, with being a photographer, and being into the 'creative' side of things, moreso then some people, i notice way too many little things, and find them interesting but i figure i'd bore someone! I was a little bummed not to shoot the show, like i think i mentioned in the review, but sometimes things just dont work out, but once you've been in that sort of scenario in prior times, and you're watching and seeing all these cool things going on visually, etc. of course a small part of you is dying inside cause you CANT capture it on film. But i had SUCH a great time and couldn't be more thrilled to have been there rooting everyone on in my own quiet way. And we're really in for a treat with Paul Crook in the band, he added a subtle yet distinct difference in some spots of songs that helped give a stronger feeling to them overall. Oh i could go on about everyone that is up there, but ive rambled enough! Take care and do try and catch the show if you can!!

I heard the single on Saturday on BBC RADIO 2. This could be what Meat meant.

(Not that I would ever presume to correct the Great One!!)

mariella
09 Mar 2003, 23:34
I think this is what Meat was talking about. He never said it was tv or radio. So you are not correcting anyone..You're safe!

By great, I suppose you mean great actor, singer, charisma and ofcourse looks!! Because we are all only human...

Have a great day,
