View Full Version : meatloaf.net
Was just wondering, my membership for meatloaf.net ran out yesterday (12th March 06) and was thinking of renewing it, as i want to purchase the platinum ticket when Meat tours for Bat 3, but i am in two minds, because
1) Nothing new in news seems to go up very often, I find out more on here, best for news (mlukfc)
2) Can't find any of the exclusive conten't were promised,
3) The $15.00 discount voucher is virtually wiped out by the shipping costs here to the UK, for any offcial merchandise, and can find most of this cheaper on ebay.
4) Meat might not tour here in the UK in the next 12 months, so me paying $40.00 now, so I can purchase the platinum ticket when they go onsale, and he not tour till after my membership runs out again, and me pay another $40.00, this might not be worth it.
Now, this isn't anyhthing against Meat, don't get me wrong, I ain't starting anything bad here, just wanted someone else's opinion, do you think I should pay $40.00 renewal. I love Meat, along with everyone else, and don't mind paying this amount, if I get something in return.
Please let me know what you think. :D
Hmmm.
1) Agreed wholeheartedly.
2) Agreed emphatically.
3) Yep.
4) Oooh. That's a point.
Maybe renew it when the new tour dates/places are announced? That way you avoid the possiblity of having to renew twice in the interim. Plus, delayed renewal, you might get a new voucher. ;)

I think I may just take this advice and wait for the dates to be announced, thankyou. :D

Yeh, wait till he tours if you ask me. I've never joined before but I planned to join when he next tours so that I can get a platinum ticket. I'm saving like mad.

Are the "up graded" tickets limited to members who joined before a certain date? I seem to remember something about this last year.

I agree - I signed up when the new site opened. Never received any welcome pack or anything. Not Meat's fault, but for me, that site is a big missed opportunity.
For $40.00 dollars, you would expect to receive a welcome letter and a photo at least, but nothing, not even the Exclusive content promised. If meatloaf.net want people to take Meat seriously and for Bat 3 to do well, they need to get their priorities right. I am not slating anyone, just giving a bit of advice. And I know this has nothing to do with Meat, but maybe he could give them a kick up the backside and say ' eh, give the fans what they want' we want more Meat, more news, content, video's, exclusives, hell, I see amateur sites what do a lot better. Like I said, I don't mind paying $40.00, if I get something in return. :D

This is one hell of a professional site, but it's free!
meatloaf.net is a lemon, and I want my money back*
*Sorry! Someone had to do it. I should also point out that I haven't spent any extra money on meatloaf.net as I joined just before it changed. Its a god darned joke ok!

I refused to spend the $40.00 from the very beginning because I couldn't see it offering me anything for my money. Just because it's Meats 'official' website is irrelevant to me.
.net should be the first place to go for Meat Loaf updates, unfortunately it's one of the last, that says it all really.

Yeah. Plus, anything on there will be on here within 9 seconds anyway.

Did it look to anybody else like the site actually was abandonded? The more I looked into it, the more it appeared to me that $400 deals were for 2005 tour?
I agree.
Don't get me started about Fanfire.

Sorry for the ignorance but what's a Fanfire?
The company that runs .net is Fanfire.
They run fan clubs for a lot of people, and all their websites look the same.

Oh I see...that's what I find so strange...Man has so many fans...I am sure there are web designers and developers among us...any one of them or even a group would be more than happy to create it...and a whole bunch of us would maintain it just for the privilege of it all...what's the deal with hiring the company that does nothing? But I also think something went wrong with it globally. Meat Loaf said that he will be posting on that site all the time but, in fact, it appears that he never posted there...very weird...
By the way...if you go to MySpace.com and put in Meatloaf (I think there it's one word) Aday, you will come up with a lot of hits but one of the sites is mind blowing. Person claims to be Meat Loaf himself which I don't know about it...but the site is amazing...that's what I mean by fans being able to create for free much superior stuff.
It is a great myspace, I'm 99.9999999% sure it is NOT Meat though.
The old OIFC was great.

So you did see it...yeah, I got a feeling that wasn't Meat Loaf at all. Is his daughter's site really his daughter's? I am leaving work soon - so if I don't reply - sorry - will reply then later from home...
Yes, the mother of Pearl site is really hers, I don't know about a myspace for her though.
Rumour has it that Paul and Randy have real myspaces.

Well, Mother of Pearl is one but that's Pearl's...I was talking about Amanda. She has (or somebody pretending to be her) space on MySpace.com...I was just curious.
Can't help with that one, sorry.
I have not had the time to scour myspace yet. :(

I understand...that one is very easy to find though - no scouring required. Just search for Amanda Aday. Not sure this is a real thing - but this one feels more real than Meat Loaf's one.

A lot of people on myspace pretend to be either someone or something else than they actually are. I really wouldn't trust anything that is said there.

I think the Amanda my space is genuine, but like pudding says you can't be too sure.
I love my space though!!

Unfortunately, I stumbled on that space while hunting for my son's space...idiot thinks that Internet is anonymous contrary to what we told him 100 times. His place is genuine for sure...I just wish it wasn't...

It's not like it's that crucially important...but what it says on that space is so contrary to the photograph of a cute happy girl she appeared to me. I am working very hard on NOT being crazy fan...sometimes I have to drag myself from the edge of the abyss though...hahahaha...
