Posted this on another site so I brought here as well.
NO MORE SHOWS!!!!!
Sorry but , Riding off into the Sunset. Sometimes you just know when to hang them up. I have been sick so much this year. And felt that some of the shows suffered because of this, yes there were really good ones but I just get to upset when I believe I let the fans down and I don't ever want to do that. I can't let it go or just pass it off the way some artists, bands do, OH well had a bad night , so what it's just one!!! well I remember them all and they hurt , the feeling that someone did not get the show they wanted or the show they were hoping to see, hurts. I have spent to many after shows hours this year in tears very depressed about A show. I have also sung in the last 2 years some of my best shows. Still people write "oh he didn't sound like he did on the record in "78"" The Truth be known I never sounded like the record in 78, all tracks were sped up and the phrasing was put together in such a slick way I could never sound like the record and I never did or have I been able too, people just assume!!!!., In 81 couldn't sing at all, everything was put together one word at a time., Bad Attitude much better not as slick and much closer to my sound. "Couldn't have said it better ", but that didn't sell 16million just 1 . if you listen to the live vocals and the album vocals they are almost the same. Most of the vocals on CHSIB were done in an hour or 2 which is fast for any singer in the studio that is truly how I sound or should on any given night. That is why the Bat3 vocals and mixing is being done by Peter Morken who Produced CHSIB Hope that answered a few Questions.
Thanks
Meat

Meat,
Please reconsider your decision, the shows i saw this year were awesome, you still cut it live, we are only human your bound to have like many performers the odd off night, but the 4 shows i saw this year the vocals were awesome, and thats the truth!! you know me i say it as i see it and believe me you still cut it , this is a very sad day
love Dean
Please Meat, go home and think this through after this leg of the tour. There are a very small minority that have said you don't sound like your CD's. The true fans know better. I know you are tired and have had a rough tour, but please take some time off and regroup before you hang up the spurs.
Good luck with your Fanstasy league thing, way to go!
Jules 8)
I so agree with Jules. Please Meat.. take some time and reconsider. Of course we don't expect you to do massive 100 + date World Tours. But.. many of us fans would love to still see you do some shows on occasion. Don't let a few spoil it for the whole bunch. I've been lucky to see you 4 times in the US and left amazed each time! I don't go to concerts wanting to hear songs the way they sound on cd. I appreciate the live aspect with improv and you bring it every night you're on stage!! However, if it is your final decision, I respect it as I respect you as a person and an artist.... I'd like to say THANK YOU for the memories and great music. Please take care and my best wishes to you always.
Lots Of Love,
~Gina
Meat,
I'm truly sorry ... and I feel bad, not for myself, but for you.
I know how much you used to enjoy touring, and it breaks my heart to see how certain individuals can take this away from you.
Yes, I hope, given time and a well earned rest, you change your mind.
Or maybe this is the best decision ... only you know for sure. You've always put the needs of your fans first .. which is something that I truly admire ... but now it's time for you to put us aside (temporarily) and concentrate on your own well-being.
You've never let me down. Over the last two years, I've seen 9 amazing shows (7 during the Fun Tour and 2 during the first leg of this tour in the United States). The memories of those evenings will always stay with me .. and from the bottom of my heart, I say thank you very much ... thank you.
The bottom line is you have to do what's best for you. And rest assured that your loving and supportive fans will always be there for you, not matter what you decide.
Take care,
Vicki

Meat,
you should be enjoying the last leg of the tour instead of torturing yourself with future tours, Bat III or even so called unsatisfied 'fans'!
Whatever will be your decision at the convenient period, we will accept it and respect it.
But first, think about these thousand people you make happy because they attend, more than a show, an unforgettable human experience...
Thank you for all the amazing shows you've given us and for being (and remaining) such a special person.
Have fun in Oz and take the rest you deserve after that.
Patricia
Going to chime in here after Jules as well...
Meat,
You are tired. It has been a long and hard year. This is not the time to make any permanent decisions, and things will look very different after you get home and rest for a while. You are being entirely too hard on yourself, and the next time you go out on tour perhaps it should be taken into account what did not work well in this one, and where improvements could be made in the future to aid you to feel more at ease. Life is a continuing journey, and not a chapter that suddenly ends. If you are looking for support you have it.... I know of few artists who have a following such as this one anywhere. Take your time before making decisions and posting please.... there is nothing pushing you to make this the very minute that it all ends.
I hope there is someone close to you to give you a hug, and to perhaps hide your laptop for a few days.... ;)
Take care of yourself and feel better.
Much love,
Di
Meat, you've always sounded great to me, and always will. So sorry the joy's gone out of it for you .. I truly hope it will return. You always have been, and will always be the best. May your star not flicker but burn brightly and not falter. I can't get out of my mind how you looked when you first came back after your heart op .. you were so full of the joy of performing .. I pray it returns. I'll always be there for you ...somewhere .... from the bottom of my heart to your beautiful soul .. thank you very, very much .. I love you.

I certainly can't improve on what others have said so well here, so all I will say is enjoy your well deserved rest in a few weeks. Rest, recouperate, refresh, recharge and get well- that is more important than anything else. If you do choose to eventually do more shows, I will be there ready to rock and overjoyed to see you again. (Heres an idea- wanna meet me at Legends Field in Tampa and take in a few late March Yankees spring training games when you return from the land down under? Theres no better balm for a tired soul than baseball and sunshine! )
with much love and respect,
Sherrie
I guess you know what’s best for yourself Meat
I am so glad I got to see a few of your shows on this tour and feel very sad that I will not experience that magic again.
Can’t help hoping that after a long rest you will reconsider this decision
Take care Meat
to think of you crying after the shows.. breaks my heart... to hear you sounding so hurt ... breaks my heart... to think that i will never again get to see my wonderful you on stage ... me in the audience.. breaks my heart...
to think that i should find this out on the last half hour of my birthday.. breaks my heart...
always know..
i love you ... i thank you... that i wish the powers that be to bless you always.... and that you should get well...and stay that way....
biiiig cyber hug....
yours loyally... and always....

I do not post here often, due to the personal attacks and in fighting. However, I do keep up with whats going on. It is a shame that all the fans that love, adore, support Meat Loaf have to suffer due to a few people. If you don't like something thats fine you have the right to like or dislike anyone or anything...however personal attacks aren't needed and don't criticise a man who has worked his ass off for over 30 years. Making one of the biggest albums of all time (Bat) and coming back 15 years later with the massive selling Bat 2...When you sell as many records a Meat Loaf...When you sell out the arenas he has sold out, when you get your Grammy then you can give your criticism.
Just enjoy the mans work... he works hard to make the shows better (To prove this just read Meats post about staying up crying about the shows) He wants to give us fans our money's worth. He cares!!!!!
Why agrue over lengths of songs.. These are Meats songs he sings them and as he has said records all shows... I will take his word because he has the cd's..he knows ...Who cares if one song is shorter than 10 years ago..maybe it is shorter so Meat can do another song... More bang for our entertainment dollar!
I know this tour has been tough on Meat Loaf..and he knows what is best for him. I hate to see him retire, but he is a grown man. But Meat Loaf i want to thank you for everything you have done in the entertainment industry. You have no idea how many people love, care about you and your career. Thank you for the entertaining concerts, the beautiful voice, and all the movies and TV appearences. Best of Luck!
To all the bashers.... Again it is your right to not like Meat, his voice, songs etc....But if thats the case why in the sam hell are you here?

So is that no more shows as of now or after the Christchurch gig?
Personally I think Meat should have pulled the plug on the World tour after he collapsed and then resumed it again in a couple of months or did some for the Bat 3 thingy.

This really saddens me, because the two shows I saw you were ill (Birmingham & Sheffield) but man you gave 200% of yourself. I have heaps of respect for you because of this. I have always loved your music, but have only seen you live on these two occassions. Both were awesome. I would hate to think you were backstage after any show, in tears because you thought it wasn't up to parr. Meat, that has really upset me - shocked !!!
With regards to there not being anymore concerts after 17th March, it would be a shame, but Meat you have to do what is right for you. Your health and happiness comes first - no question. I personally would prefer you to be around period, than anything horrible happen to you for the sake of a few concerts
I will be definately be buying the dvd and Bat 3 when they come out.
Meat, one request - please stay on the forum thou, so we know how you are doing.
Thanks for everything and take care.
Love and Respect

Meat - I am truly sorry to hear you're feeling so down and disheartened at the moment. You have always been your own harshest critcic, but please try to go easy on yourself, hun. You have brought so much enjoyment and pleasure to so many people, and i'm truly sorry to hear that for you, the enjoyment and pleasure has gone.
You need to do what feels best for you, and whatever that may be please know that you have a family here that will love and support you whatever you decide - good times and bad, we are in it for the long haul.
Take some 'me' time, look after yourself, and regroup your thoughts. We'll be here for you whenever you need us. Remember Meat, friends are like stars - you may not always see them, but you know that they are always there...
Love you....xxxx

What can I say that hasen't already been said?
I too feel privileged to have been to these concerts - the thought of you crying afterwards breaks my heart... Meat - you are to so many people - the best performer there is!
...send you all my love...

Meat, got to say it, for once you are wrong!!!!!!!!
The shows were fantastic, 15 January at Sheffield is one of the top four shows I've ever seen you perform and I've seen a lot over those years.
It's been a hell of a tour for you , a longer one than billed, and you must need a long rest.
Whatever you do you must do for you but having seen you in concert since 1982 your voice may have changed but so it does with everyone - it sounds great to me and if anything has more depth and emotion.
You've never let us down Meat, you've thrilled us and amused us with your passion energy and commitment. If that's the end of touring you've left a great legacy, there'll never be anyone like you.
Just get that long break and then make a decision when the batteries are recharged.
Look after yourself and talk the thing through with someone you can trust.
Mike
Rest Meat.
We have taken so much from you it is time to take something back our understanding and respect.
Also take time for yourself
Thank-you for everything as I have said before you made my good times great and my bad times better.

So beautiful, Heat.
Meat, it saddens me to read that you were in tears after some shows. That shows what a careing and sensible person you are.
It was one of my greatest moments of my life to see you in Trier, Germany (and also Frankfurt and Stuttgart. Thank you for being there.
Take your well deserved rest after the down under shows. Have some great time with your family and friends. Let you hug a lot. Hopefully your depression will then fade away (if only for some time...)
I will always be a fan of you (if there more shows or not). We will soon have the life DVD to remember the great moments (as we will ever forget them?-no way!)
As someone mentioned above:
Please stay on this forum- we all are looking forward to your posts (happy or sad ones- remember: WE ARE A FAMILY!)
From the bottom of my heart to your soul, GREAT MAN:
Thank you very, very much for all the pleasure you brought and still brings to my life!
Keep rockin'
Yvonne
Meat I know no matter what anyones says isn't going to change your mind but this is my little tear for you.
I am 14 years old and I havn't been a fan of yours for long! My first ever concert was your concert! It was the night of my life, wednesday 17th december! I have never lost the feeling when those thousands and thousand of people filled the arena with you took the words! I haven't laughed as hard since you went up and kissed that guy or when you went on ranting about michelle or when you told us kids not to swear infront of our parents!!
My seats where really close to the back, the 7 pictures i took are really bad (all blurry and you can only make out little bits)and the woman next to me kept giving me dirty looks!!
Meat please do just a few shows soon, please!! All I want is to get seats closer to you and just one picture of you!! Just one small picture of you smiling!!
Please don't be sad anymore!! I'll send you my teddy bear if you want, he makes me feel better agian!!! Meat we love you and we don't care how bad you think the show is, because aslong as you and the band are on stage with a big smile then thats all we need!!!
I love you forever and always Meat!!!

Oh Meat!
I can't believe I am hearing this - I know it was planned as your last tour anyway, but to hang up your spurs now???
Your singing in Wembley last December blew me (and the rest of the audience!) away. The show was awesome, and you were having so much fun!
Ok, if you want to be hard on yourself, maybe you missed 1 or 2 notes - IN NEARLY 3 HOURS!!!! To me that is absolutely stunning! I can understand you not wanting to let your fans down - but missing a couple of notes is certainly no big deal!
NO ONE ELSE IN THE BUSINESS AT THIS TIME HAS A VOICE AS AMAZING AS YOURS - RECORDED OR LIVE - AND NO ONE ELSE PUTS ON AS AWESOME A SHOW!
CHSIB may "only" have sold a million copies - but I don't think it's anything to do with the quality of singing or songs, more a lack of promotion on the part of the record companies.
If you feel you can't do 4 or 5 shows a week then DON'T!! Just do one a week, hell just do one a month - it is such a privilege to see someone of your incredible talent, that it really doesn't matter if you only do one show a year - EACH TIME WE SEE YOU IT IS TREASURED FOR EVER!
So, maybe 100 people review each show, and maybe 1 of them has a complaint - well, if 2 out of 3 ain't bad, then 99 out of 100 estatic fans is bloody brilliant!
Would you really have sung For Crying Out Loud if you couldn't pull it off? Of course not!
Of course, I understand you have had a hard time of it health wise, and it makes me very sad to hear how upset you have been. If you really want to end the tour then of course I can respect that - we all can.
Whatever you decide I wish you all the best. You have given us all so much joy over the last couple of decades, that it is going to be very strange without you around.
No matter if the sun don't shine
Or if the skies are blue
No matter what the ending
My life began with you
Take care, and never stop rocking
PS Dead Ringer is my favourite album - because YOU make the songs come alive!
PPS I'll Kill You If You Don't Come Back
No matter if the sun don't shine
Or if the skies are blue
No matter what the ending
My life began with you
 That is what i'm trying to say!! My life began with you, Meat, and I wish it could end with you too!!!
Please Meat think it through again. Two of the shows I attended in Manchester were excellent, better than 97 and 99, although they were excellent too. Please think it through, but if you have really decided to call it a day, I think most on here will respect your decision. :D
Meat having just read your post, and being made aware that you cried after some of your shows because you felt you hadn't given your best is so sad. I have followed you faithfully throughout the past 34 years and will continue to follow you for all eternity..........
I eagerly look forward to Bat out of Hell 3 and the DVD.
I count myself so fortunate to have seen you in concert so many times, and feel sad for the 'first timers', please if for them maybe a few small European dates so that they can take their memories of you on stage through their lives.
God bless Meat Loaf who gave me courage when I didn't have any, who gave me hope when I felt there wasn't any, whose music has bought so much light to my life over the past 34 years, and whose music has helped me through some very dark times of my life.
Rock and Roll Dreams come Through.............
Someone must have blessed us when he gave us those songs...........
There's always something magic, there's always something new and when you really needed it the most, that when Rock and Roll Dreams come Through......
If you can hold onto a chorus you can get through the night.......
The Beat is yours forever.................

I don't want to state the obvious here but it's about time somebody did, why don't you all send your "Meat don't go" "We love you Meat" "You're the best ever" type messages to his Private Mailbox? or is it some sort of competition to see who can come up with the most soppy message possible in front of everyone and try to appear to be his biggest fan?
I'm a Meat Loaf fan but I know that if there's a message I wanted him to read then I'd send it personally. How much time do you think the bloke has to read all the sycophantic crap that gets written here?

You say that but how much time do you think he has to read all his private messages!! I bet he's got more than 100 private messages at this moment in time! I also think its unfair to say that this is sycophantic crap, because alot of what is written on here are peoples true feeling! I sure know that alot of what i write on here are my true feelings, and i find that it is rude to judge (or whatever your doing) people who are more sensitive than others!!
I swore to myself that i wouldnt get involved but that just annoys me soo much!!!!

Don't you think there's a better chance of him readin a Private Message than wading through the zillions of posts a day (or whatever it is) that gets posted here?.
If they're your true feelings (I doubt it at only 14 and I don't mean that in a nasty way) then why share them for everyone to see? what are you achieving by doing that?. Are you expecting a pat on the head or a magic Meat genie to come knocking on your door and wisk you a way on the back of an Harley? because if you are then it aint ever gonna happen.
Everyone who posts here is a fan of Meat Loaf to a greater or lesser degree and no one can say that they're a bigger fan than somebody else. I don't need to tell him how I feel on an open forum because it's nobody elses business.

Why is it that just because i'm 14 it means that I can't have true feelings? I'm still human you know!! I know what I feel and you can't tell me that i can't feel somthing true!! Its not a case of what I'm achieving, but more along the lines of gaining!! Sharing my feelings with people makes me feel alot better than keeping it to myself and critising other people who do have a sensitive side! I don't care if there are a few people who don't give a damn about what i have to say, thats far enough, but i know that at least one person out of this whole website might agree with me or might feel the same, so i'm am more than happy to show my senistive side to everyone else!!
And no i'm not expecting a pat on the head or Meat to come knocking on my door!! All i can say is that I am a young woman not a little baby, and i would like to be treated with respect and not stereotyped!!

well seeing as we are supposed to hide how we feel, i wont do that but i will say this, you are so insulting, i got into meat at an age younger than heli, and to assume she doesnt know her own feelings because of her age is the most ludicrous thing i have heard in a long time
That said i am not going to argue, i very rarely come on here any more not just due to the fights, but due to a lot of personal things going on, but largely due to the arguements, and things on here, i have found out lately life is too short to waste on a place where peoples feelings and thoughts count for nothing.
meat you inspired me to combat asthma, to a degree i got my life back to normal after being told by doctors i never would, for this i thank you, in a way mere words never could convey. ( as told to meat in pm many months ago)
for the music and the concerts, i also thank you, the music has got me through so many hard times and is doing so right now, and for the concert in belfast, for that thanks a million you gave the kids a most memorable evenings entertainment that will stay with them forever.
this was also told to meat in a pm.
if you do decide to call it quits, you do so not only leaving people sad but also with many memories they will never forget, from the fantastic concerts you have played over the years, and dont let any person tell you different, most of us came away from the gigs with a night that would never be topped.
any way if this is to much soppiness for any one quite frankly, i dont care, i dont write the words to be judged for any medal or best meat fan, i am just another meat fan who is going to miss the gigs, but is thank full their was a singer/ actor called meat loaf in the first place.

thankyou for the good times meat.

I can't believe that we can't even tell Meat how we feel without having debates. This is not what Meat need to see right now. If you don't like people talking about their feelings then don't read this thread.
Meat, it upsets me to see you end this way. I always thought I would see you one more time. However, I respect your decsion. I truly hope you all the best at what ever you decide to do. Please take care and get the well deserve rest you need.
Thankyou for everything. Others have said what I wanted to say already, much better then I can do. I look forward to Bat3 and anything else you decide to do.

I'm sorry but i don't understand how people can complain about an artist sounding different live to on a cd.
CD's are great for listening to music at home or in the car (Meat if you want to sing live in the back of our car let me know and we'll arrange a time).
But you can't beat hearing an artist live. Obviously it's going to sound different, accoustics are different for a start. On CD's you don't get the atmosphere, you don't see the action, power, feelings that go into a live performance. My kids were amazed to see how funny Meat was when we saw him at the NEC. They were blown away by his voice. I was lucky enough to see him when he did Bat II, so seeing him this tour was an added bonus but when we came out of Bat II we said next time we bring the kids (we only had 2 then). Unfortunately my youngest is only 3 and although his does sing BOOH in the car he was too young for the concert but i live in hope we will get to take him at some stage to see Meat.
My 6 yr old drove everyone crazy telling them from the day we got the tickets that she was going to see Meat. We didn't get home till after midnight but she still got up for school so she could wear her t-shirt and tell everyone how good it was.
Meat, just do what is right for you. Look after yourself and when the tour is over take some time out to spend with your family. And take some time out for yourself.
Loads of love
Meat!
Its Colleen And Emily here. The only way you could possibly ever, ever let your fans down, is if you decide to 'hang up your dancing shoes.'
We don't know how to cope knowing that we'll never see you ever again.

Thank you very much Meat for gracing this earth for the past 50+ years.
I will be attending the concert on 17th March in Christchurch. It was to be special for me for personal reasons: because it was to be the only (likely) time I'd see you live after all this time of being a fan.
But now I find out that this concert will also be important because you say that it will be your last ever.
I am surprised that you chose to make the second NZ concert your final one. In some ways I am honoured as a NZer, but I thought it would be more fitting for your final concert to be in a place that has a better record of traditionally supporting you. While I wish that the record company and fellow NZers had supported you more, the truth is that audiences and record companies in the UK and the rest of Europe, and the US, have been better supporters of you.
So I thought it might be appropriate to add a few more shows (after NZ) in the US, where it all started for you, and perhaps in Europe as well, to say goodbye to them. I'm not sure many of them realised that the second NZ show would be your last.
In any case, I'm looking forward to attending the Christchurch show on 17th March and I'm sure I will have a great time, although I will be saddened by your decision to say goodbye.
I'm a Meat Loaf fan but I know that if there's a message I wanted him to read then I'd send it personally. How much time do you think the bloke has to read all the sycophantic crap that gets written here?
Sheriff Spud
You say that but how much time do you think he has to read all his private messages!! I bet he's got more than 100 private messages at this moment in time! I also think its unfair to say that this is sycophantic crap, because alot of what is written on here are peoples true feeling! I sure know that alot of what i write on here are my true feelings, and i find that it is rude to judge (or whatever your doing) people who are more sensitive than others!!
I swore to myself that i wouldnt get involved but that just annoys me soo much!!!!
... Heli... i so agree you... i suppose that i should sit on my fingers.. but i can't... imo.. this is not the thread.. the place.. ... i'm really trying to be careful here... but i can't ... i'm seething... this is not the thread to put such a posting as above...Meat's hurt... his fan's are aching for him and themselves...... Meat's bared his soul.. and his fans are doing the same... this is no competition... the man said what he said... and the fans are responding... simple as that... SO CONTINUE TO PUBLICLY SHOW YOUR GRIEF... YOUR GRATITUDE... YOUR LOVE... YOUR SUPPORT.... why it is that everytime people show how much Meat means to them it's seen as sychophantic... is beyond my comprehension... people feel the way they feel.. is all...
so... KEEP YOUR LOVE PUBLIC... DON'T HIDE BEHIND THE CLOSED DOORS OF PM's... SAY IT LOUD AND SAY IT PROUD...
YOU LOVE MEAT... HIS MUSIC... HIS STAGE PRESENCE... think of all the times.. his music has comforted you... in times of sorrow... been playing in the background of a joyous occassion... you were celebrating... think of the many interviews you've seen.. where at times he's made you laugh out loud.. as he teased and taunted.. or how he's moved you baring his soul... during those serious interviews...
COME ON.. COME ON... SAY IT LOUD AND PROUD...
YOU LOVE MEAT....
powers that be bless Him.. and us all....XO
Absolutely right tink .... thank you !!
Meat's going through a very difficult time ... he's always been there for us, and now it's time for us to come together and show our support and love for him. And if feeling that way makes me a sycophant in your eyes Spud, I really don't give a damn !!!!
Thank you Meat for being there for me with your shows and music when I needed it the most. From the bottom of my heart, I say LOVE YOU, BLESS YOU, and thank you very very much thank you.

Dear Meat,
I haven´t see your live-shows because of the distance (I live in Finland and I´m poor student) But I have seen in ROL your live perfofmances and those are UNCREDIBLE.
All your fans knows that your been sick, but if your concert been sold out it means only one thing: They LOVES you. Your fans truly loves you from the bottom of their hearts.
It´s true that you don´t sounds like in BAT1 but as matter of fact it doesn´t bother me at all. I think that you sounds a little better now than in 78. And remember that technology is better know than it used to be so it will explain why you sounds different now.
Love you,
Heidi
Dear Meat,
I hope this is not true, that your last show is on 17th March.
My greatest wish is, that you come back and do many, many shows for us , the really true fans.
love

Ive never really used these message forums very much (so I'll make this long); seems it only takes one or two people to stir up a lot of bad feeling (and here we go again on this thread too) but Ive always wondered why Meat feels like he owes these people an explanation? explanations that, as a fan, Ive found quite upsetting to read. Meat, those critics, whether they are from the media or just random posters on here they really are nothing in the shadow of your army of fans. You must have the loyalist and most adoring fans, bar no one else.
But reading what Ive read on here over the past months, Ive never felt as distant as a fan. Its so very sad that Meat obviously feels that he cant even escape from those sharks on here - his own fan forum; I think now I understand why after all these years he would want to call it quits. I keep asking myself how much torment and abuse one man can really deal with in a lifetime? From the day that I became a fan, after hearing Bat II for the very first time, I have always wished people would just leave him alone. Trying to explain to people that Meat Loaf - that big, scary, mad-man you see on stage is just another character given life by the quiet and sensitive ML Aday but it never seems to wash with anyone.
Meat, Im blown away by what Ive heard from this tour. Youve fired new life into those songs. So much so that I cant seem to bring myself to listen to the original studio recordings anymore. With illness and a death-wish tour schedule, it was never going to be possible to be riding the wave every night. But why do you do so many shows? When Bon Jovi tour the UK, they hire a couple of really big venues and let the fans come to them. But youve always tortured yourself for us and I guess old habits die hard. I know; I didnt enjoy being at the Glasgow show. I watched you on stage and could find no way to find enjoyment in watching a sick human being give everything he had that night. And although I left that night feeling sad I left with so much more love and respect in my heart for you just because you were there battling against everything the way that you always have done, everyday of your incredible career.
So big guy, this is my little tear for you. You can stop touring and stop releasing records, but you will never find a way to leave us. If it wasnt for you, I know that I wouldnt be here now. Nor would I have the heart to wake up in the morning and face the world and find a smile in the fights that life throws. Last night, after I read that you said you were quitting, I wiped away the tears and went to work in a busy student bar wearing the Meat Loaf football shirt if only you really knew how many people out there love and respect you maybe your sadness would not be so deep. Thank you for everything that you have given. My life is richer because of you.

I posted this on OIFC this morning, but wanted to add it here as well . . . hope that's OK. Here goes -
Although Meat's decision saddens me, I can certainly understand it.
It's been a tough year for him healthwise and the rigors of a full-blown tour schedule would strain even the strongest of us. I have a hard enough time mowing the lawn sometimes!
However, I'd like to just put out an idea to Meat and all of you. Remember, this is just a thought - not a whine that Meat change his mind if he doesn't want to.
Meat - would you be willing to consider smaller venues? I've seen some pretty excellent shows at the smaller places here in NOLA and only offer it as a suggestion. JazzFest immediately comes to mind! :D The first time I heard the Storytellers CD (can't seem to get my hands on the DVD), I had the impression that the venue it was done in was fairly small and that you were just having the best time interacting with the audience!
Then, after seeing you twice during the JFH tour, I was totally captivated by your ability to really get out there and "touch" the fans. You are a natural when it comes to being with people and making them have a wonderful time. Even my grouchy now ex was impressed! Do you know he was actually jealous of you and your ability to make so many people happy!
In the end, it is always Meat's decision and I'll respect that. I only hope that he will remeber just how much he means to so many of the people that come to see him.
With much love and affection - Debbi V

I would just like to add my thoughts to everybody else's.
If you don't feel that you can continue touring I completely understand. Your health has got to come first and as you said you have had lots of health problems during this tour. Also if you don't want to do them, they would be missing a spark that comes from somewhere inside you. A show without this would be missing something special.
All the real fans will enjoy your music regardless of whether or not we can see you live.
Meat, I am so sorry that you're going through such a rough patch in your life. You are a good and kind man and through your huge talent you have given SO much - you are a world treasure. You deserve to feel joy! - like at the end of a show, with your arms spread wide, your head back, mouth open a little as if you are "tasting" the audience's love and approval.
Your voice now has a certain quality that it didn't in 1978. I don't have the knowledge or terminology to properly discuss it, but that quality absolutely SHINES in CHSIB. Age doesn't usually improve us physically :) so I don't know if that "quality" is part of your actual voice or whether it comes from your skill in using it?? I don't know, but either way, YOU, NOW, are a phenomenon.
Your fans will support you whatever direction you take. Get your joy back! But whatever you do, don't give up your dream.
All my love and deepest respect as well,
-Kathy

Feleena, have you been peeking in my windows again? It seems nearly the only time I get to listen to music is in the car or while doing chores. I was actually looking forward to vacuuming and dusting my home today as I got to watch the London Meltdown concert while doing it. And everynight with the dishes, it's always just me and either WTTN or Kasim's QPQ. What my house would look like if I didn't have my Meat music while I clean- horrors!

I think it is appropiate to quote some reviews from this tour:
"Rock Star Meat Loaf carried fans away"
"Meat Loaf kicked ass in Color Line Arena"
"Rock`n`Roll Dreams came true for two hours"
(Headlines and Bottom Line, Hamburger Morgenpost, 3.11.03)
"Papa is putting everything in place: Meat Loaf celebrated Rock and Roll"
"Spectacular is not the right word. This is perfect, shrill and insane"
"The show is ridiculous, reactionary and absolutely fantastic."
(Frankfurter Rundschau, 29.10.03)
"134 kg of power. Meat Loaf gave a great performance in the Color Line Arena" (Bild Zeitung, 3.11.03)
"A heavyweight by every means"
"Not just big - tremendous"
"Even the audience in the back of the venue was enthraled to standing ovations" (Hamburger Abendblatt, 3.11.03)
I remember equally over-the-top reviews for other German shows (i.e. Halle and Oberhausen), cannot find them anymore.
May I add my two cents:
What attracted me to see multiple Meat Loaf concerts is that each song is different every night. The extensions of songs, the changes in his voice... It is reall live art happening that moment, something I never experienced other than with Meat.

Hi Meat just a short note to say if you got to have a rest ,you have to do it ,you know your own mind and body ,you have to listen to them telling you to rest up, lifes to short to take risks with your health {mind or body}take time out to be with family and friends, :) enjoy life, ..... do not listen to what people say about your music etc, people who criticise often have nothing else to say ,, and cant really say anything good about anybody, and most likely dont have anything going for them, and most likely dont even like themselves very much,so they have to use words to stress out other people, they will never ever have what you have. So sad that some people make you feel this way. You must decide whatever is right for you and those that surround you. I have never ever come away from one of your concerts disappointed. I have come away on a high for days and then depressed that I could not afford to go to another one!!!
May I thank you for all that you have given (which is way more than 100%).
I deeply hope that I will see you again in the future, but if not I will treasure Sheffield forever.

I'm sure deep down, no matter how disappointed, the majority of your fans will respect any decision you make. HOWEVER, you have just spent a long year in bad health and with a very heavy tour schedule so I'm sure this has influenced you into this desicion. I'm sure the perfomer in you will miss the shows after a while. Take your time, recover, do theatre and films (in the UK PLEASE!) but don't ever stop rocking. Do the occasional concert, not a tour but sected venues, you know you can sell the tickets. Remember we will support you in whatever you do.

Meat - I am finding it very hard to think of the right words here, but I really wish you would stop being so hard on yourself. It really upsets me to think that you are feeling so bad. I can't even begin to express my gratitude for what you have given me in my life. At every different stage, you have been there for me, through the music that you made. almost as if you knew what was going on. From being on this site, I have realised that is is not just me, there's a whole army of us!! One man can do all this - can bring so much to everyone else..... - I know I couldn't do what you do.
We all respect you, if you feel no more shows then we will support you in that decision. Plus sometimes you probably need to think more about what is best for you, it's your life too.

:( U Cant Go! Oh PLZ dont go ridn' of into the sunset- or well at least take me
It aint right and it aint fair!
I've only just been introduced to ur music and let me say it Rocks!
You dont wanna make me cry do you? I'm 17 yrs old and finally found a part of me in your works of musical art and now your sayin' ur off!
you taught me to catch my dreams and make them real- i'm now a published poet and a manager of a tricky tribute band- The Hounds of hell- rm yep that would be a school tribute band to you the one and only god of Rock & Roll!
Dreams are hard to find when a life as rough as mine ( and yes i know others have had or are having worse lives.) i've always wanted to meet you ( since i've been introduced to your music.) i've always wanted to meet the man behind the voice.
And now you say your leaving!
I do respect your decision to leave the music scene
i mean i cant do anything to stop you realy can i?
but after a while please come back to the uk do a few one off gigs when you feel well and more rested.
[I LOVE YOU Meatloaf you color=red]rock![/color]
Do as you will if it makes you happy!
But Just dont stop Rockin'!
Luv ya

Dear ML, I'm writing to you from Russia.
Please don't leave the music scene. Please continue playing concerts. We still didn't see you here, in Moscow! Please don't be depressed by all this rubbish which some people write in the forum.
I know you wanted to be closer with your fans by writing to this site but as you know not all people good. It's sad but it is so. Some people just can't be happy if they don't spoil someone's day. Please take all this more calm - they are NOT your fans. All your fans love your albums and songs and concerts, some more some less but they love them all.
Please don't make it your last tour.
best wishes,

The thought of you in tears after you have bared your soul and put so much of yourself into a concert breaks my heart. I respect your decision to stop touring--your health, both mental and physical, must always come first and we, as your fans, know it. It is my hope that after you have time to rest, recover, and spend time with your family, that you will reconsider your decision, but you know better than I what is right for you, and I encourage you to take the course whatever it may be. Please don't leave the forum, I for one, like hearing from you...though this has been about the only post of yours I've seen. Thank you for your music and your films, they mean so much to me and everyone else here. I've said my piece now.
God bless you, I love you, and Thank You, Thank You, Thank You

I'm pretty sure that after some well earned rest Meat won't be able to resist doing more shows, it's in his blood. When Bat 3 rockets to the top of the charts and he's got his confidence back I think he'll do a few dates at selected venues. Meat is an amazing performer who gives so much to his fans (so much he makes himself ill) and I just think he needs to look after himself for a while instead of putting other people first. I know he'll never ever stop rockin' cos it's part of who he is, I just hope he takes care of himself.
Wish I could give him a great big hug!

I am so sorry that some people have taken the joy out of touring for you. I respect your decision to stop touring--this has obviously been a rough patch for you, and you know when it's time to take a break. As for the people posting negative comments: YOU ROCK!!!!, and everyone here knows it, though they may not choose to acknowledge it. Some people aren't happy if they aren't bringing someone down. I'm heartbroken that I"ll never be able to see you live...someone got to my tickets before I did. But you have done a bang up job this your, so you'll be going out with a bang.
Love always and forever,
WOS
Meat, it really hurts to know you have decided to hang up your mic, especially at a time when I've felt you've been at the very top of your art. I was so lucky to see multiple, sensational shows on the European leg of the "Last" tour, both in Germany and the UK, and was blown away by each and every one. You are an entertainer barr none and there will be a great void in mine and thousands of others lives without your spectacular concerts to look forward to. You've coloured my life with the thrill and excitement of your performances for many years and the concert stage will be a very much poorer place without your unique and outstanding talent.
Words are inadequete to express the immeasurable pleasure your music and performances have brought to my life and I thank you from the very bottom of my heart. I will never stop hoping upon hope that after an extended break, which you so obviously need, you will reconsider your decision but whatever you decide to do I will always remain a devoted fan.
The thought of you depressed and in tears after some shows because you didn't think they were good enough is unbearable. I wish you weren't so hard on yourself. You give more of yourself on stage than anyone I have ever seen and you have never let me down. Ultimately though your health and happiness is of paramount importance and you must do whatever is right for you, no matter how bitter the pill is for us to swallow.
Diane
Meat,
Just a quickie.
I know it must be tough to do this, but yu have to do what you feel is right. If it is making you ill, or you are not happy, then don't do it. If, in a few years, you feel like doing a couple of shows, do a couple of shows. if not, don't do any more.
You have given so much, it is time you do what YOU want and need to do.
Good luck with Bat II :)

Oh Meat, what can I say that hasn't already been said
Take time to consider your decision once you have rested completely. As someone else said, perhaps smaller gigs, or one big gig a month. Don't give up man, it took me years to see you this time, and it just breaks my heart to think I may never see you live again.

Meat. What more is there to say. I know that what ever decision you make we will stand by it. it broke my heart to think of you crying over your shows not being good enough. I was there at wembley 22nd Jan and you rocked that place, I am surprised the roof was still on it the amount of cheering, clapping etc that was going on in there. You are the best and never forget it. I love anything you do and think there is nothing more exhilarating that listening to you sing live, it blows me away. I will be praying for you. Take care and spend time with your loved ones. But remember we will always LOVE YOU.

This is basically what I've just said to my friend on this topic:
"It is very sad about him not doing any more shows:"( He'll be missed terribly from the stage, and I bet he'll miss the stage, too. I thought I'd be really emotional at the concert, but I wasn't, I wasn't upset. You see what I mean when I say that those concerts aren't the time to feel sad, but rather for wanting to smile and laugh with joy and disbelief that you're in the presence of a true rock legend. You want to have the courage to run up, give him a hug, and tell him how much he and everything he does means to you, and thank him for that. You don't want the night to be marred by tears, but to make the most of the experience while the chance to do so is still there, and enjoy every last second of it all. You just wish that the night could last forever, and when it ends you realise it's over, it's done, and if you're like me you'll never be able to see another concert again in your life, unless he does come back for one final performance, because nothing will be able to top what you have just seen, and if there is something that could top it, do you really want to see it? I know I won't. This is the main thing I didn't want to have to face: the knowledge that when I'm still young I'll have to accept that I may never see another concert again! Not just Meat, but everyone else in the business. I knew all along, even before I first saw him live, that after I'd seen him I wouldn't want to see or be able to face another concert unless it was another of his, or I'd be criticising and comparing to Meat, and I'd just want to get away from there, get home, and listen to my CDs and look through my photographs, and forget that I'd been to a (...) concert at all. At sixteen I'll have been to my last concert, my first being in 2002 in Liverpool, second last December, and last one in January, all three of them Meat, and I'll have no regrets about it being my last one. All three of them were exceptional to everything else that will have set foot on that stage, even though I haven't seen any other artist perform, I know this is the case. There never has been and there never will be another artist with such power, devotion, passion, and stage presence as Meat. I take great pleasure in being a huge fan of his, and I know I was privileged to have had the honour of seeing him on stage three times in as many years, this year's especially for being able to be so close to him, something I never imagined would or could happen, something I thought was beyond my status to be allowed to do, even though I know it's not like that at all. Even though I know I haven't got anything else as big as a concert where I'm four rows from the front to look forward to anymore, there are other things, some only a bit smaller, like Bat 3, and some a lot smaller and simpler, for example using up the rest of my camera film so I can get my sledging photographs from yesterday developed; so I'm going to soldier on with life, dull and boring as it may be after Bat 3 is released. Hang on, what am I saying?! I still love to listen to the two Bats, looking forward to my free periods when I can listen to them in the common room, taking me away from there to somewhere exciting, so I suppose if I've got three Bats to look forward to listening to, at least I'll have something to look forward to!:)"
Of course I understand completely his decision given what he's been through this past year, and I accept it on the surface, but I know that later on I'll be wishing I could have seen it all again, there'll always be something niggling away at me. I'm not trying to sway his decision, this is NOT a suicide note!!!! :D I'm just expressing my thoughts on the subject, and if there's an oscar for longest post on this forum, I think it belongs to me!
PS Speaking of Oscars, congrats to LOTR :D It did what is very hard to do
today: It made me happy first thing on a Monday morning  :D
Meat,
To read of you being so upset is heartbreaking - - for years you have been the music we have cried, laughed and been carried away by.
You have been there for us and I think from the outpouring of love on this site for you it is very obvious that the vast majority of us want to be there for you - even if it is at a great distance over the ether of the internet.
Have a well earned rest , you deserve it for all the joy you have given us all.
I think we all wish we could just give you a great big hug .
Love
Kim
sad news ,meat hopefully not true have a rest and a long long think about your dission your true fans will respect your wishes what ever you decide but we hope to see you later in year/next your for bat 3.also how about some possible shows at the royal albert hall if you do a bat tour . from all your fans hearts to you & band we thank you & never, never stop rockin. 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

He'll get the bug again, they always do.
Glad to hear you're gonna take a well earned break, if it ends up being a permanent one then so be it. I'm sure a lot of fans would agree that seeing your pain, agony and suffering in the last year (mentally and physically) was something that none of us wants to see again.
I've loved every single concert I've ever been too - except maybe Wembley in November when you collapsed, never want to witness that again! No two shows are the same, which is quite an achievement on it's own.
So thank you for all the years, enjoy your holiday and look forward to seeing more of you on the Big Screen maybe?

please meat,
please change your mind !!
or just take some time out,
dont give up the concerts all together, plz :(

Sherrie and Heli - I've had WTTN playing in my car for a couple weeks now! Boy, that's a GOOD one, isn't it?!!!

I think its great!! Just like a story!! Although no matter how hard I try i cant seem to understand when the rubber meets the road properly!! I know what some of it is on about but i'm a bit hasy on the meaning!! It's one of my fave tracks on it tho!!!
Heli - its basically about safe sex. About knowing the history of any sex partners - somewhere somebody's falling in love without a background check!!

Meat - this is a soooo sad day, but a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do.
I do hope that you reconsider though. I have seen a number of shows over the yearsand have always come away on a high. What I have seen is a man doing what he loves most-entertaining. You have been blessed with a great voice and I would love to think that I will hear you live again one day.You have the ability to communicate and connect with an audience of all ages. If I wanted to hear perfection all the time I would just listen to CD's etc.
Sometimes life has a habit of kicking us in the backside and if you are not on top form the smallest thing takes on megga proportions. But after a break and time spent with loved ones things start to look better and human nature, being what it is, you bounce back. I hope that this is how you will feel later this year when you have taken time out to look after yourself. God Bless

I'm sitting here reading through all these messages, I feel sad, meat has put heart and soul into what he does you can see and feel it when he sings.
The guy has had a rough year with health and yet he still gave his best and more and did the M&G.
I can't say i know how meat feels, i don't, but i think it would hurt alot when people feel they have the right to say certain things that are uncalled for, i would hope this is only a few but needless to say it still hurts.
True fans don't even go there.
All the concerts i've been to have been fantastic meat, thats my personal view, and i really don't know how you have managed to continue touring with your health, now that is truely dedication to his fans it's a pity that those few who have upset meat don't have the same dedication to him.
it will be a sad day when meats calls it a day, but i will cherish the concerts and M&G i have been too.
God bless meat only you know what you should do.

Only just read that Meat has decided to stop touring and I am gutted!
I am 3 month's older than Meat and he turned me into a teenager again when I discovered his music just 22 months or so ago.
Now he has 3 generations of fans in our family - me and my husband David, my son Brian and his partner Debbie, and my Grandson Benjamin age almost 5 - a Meat Loaf fan for over a year now!
We are so looking forward to taking Benjamin to his first concert in a few years - so Meat CAN'T stop giving concerts - they are our life blood! So saddened - I hope he changes his mind.
Love you to bits Meat! You are truly AWESOME!!!!!

I feel the exact same way that Trex does. Everytime i hear that song I think of how important Meat/the music etc.

I fully appreciate and understand your decision to stop gigging. But I know there will be more, you will miss us too much and you will miss the thrill of playing in front of a huge audience.
Take a couple of years off, have a good long rest and then reconsider. And then go for that last send-off when Bat 3 is born, your disciples will not let you disappear into the sunset.
See you at Wembley, say three or four years time? :)
tukayaway,
Meat posted his current plans recently on the OIFC recently. I don't have the link, but it's under a thread called Jimmy Barnes. As of now, he plans to take 6 months off after NZ. Then, he's changed his mind, a few concerts in the US, for 9 weeks, starting in Oct. After that, starting Bat III after Christmas.
I'm really glad he's taking a rest. And really glad he changed his mind and will do more gigs. :D

But as Terry said you can find it on the thread called Meat Loaf vs Jimmy Barnes on the OIFC board.

How can we be certain that post was really Meat Loaf? Any Jo can register any name, hell I could even be the "Meat Police"
I mean there's more spelling mistakes and bad grammar than normal, as if somebody's purposely gone out of their way to make the post read badly. Also there's too much information so far in advance.
I'm not convinced

Thanks for the link Lost Soul. It's nice to hear these things from Meat.
Yayyyyyyy that's just made my day off from work even better
Thanks for the link .... I hadn't been able to get into the OIFC Forum for ages, thought maybe they had taken it down after all the arguements etc.
Well, i am convinced. It is him. He just spread his thougth out very impulsive, like the title from bat and the people he wants to sing with and the recording with X-mas. He just say these sings cause he is enthousiastic but he dunno if it is realistic. yes the day aftre. O yes, this is Meat definitely.
 Bart, he's unmistakable isn't he? Btw I liked your post about picturing Meat furiously typing very fast - I could picture that too.

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Funniest thing I've read in the past 1 minute
My point is that you can get any dilbert to register under any name i.e. you say your Kathy but how does anyone else know your Kathy? you could be a Neville or a Brian or a Joey! who likes to dress up in womens clothing but the only person who really know's is you.
You might walk around blindly and believe everything that is said to you without question but I much prefer to discover the truth myself. Call me a cynic if you want but trust should be earnt not given and just because somebody says they're somebody doesn't necessarily mean it's true.

Meat Loaf, I am sooooooo happy for you, that you feel so much better now, despite of being so tired!
Enjoy your final concerts down under and after that:
Enjoy your time off! You only have to remember that we all love you and for sure will be here for you, when you want to see us again :D

Not at all. I made a very valid point with valid questions some of which have been answered. Just because someone questions something doesn't necessarily make them the Devil, even a 14 year old should be able to figure that out.
I've been away for over a week and in that time there's stuff that's been going off here that hasn't been resolved and it appears a mass exodus is occurring - Why?. Perhaps it's because people are tired of people living in La La Land who jump down their throat whenever they make a statement that questions something.
I am now going to look at all the messages you've written and see how many of them make a valid point.

for someone so devoted to his work giving up your music must be hard, but if you feel its time to give it up and it doesn't make you happy then the fans will understand. at least you can work on your film career and spend more time with your family.thanks for a great last performance and good luck in the future.

I agree Heli, it's been fun on here for the past week, no fights or anything, just everyone trying to outdo each other on the postwhoring front *looks @ Andy in particular*. Then someone comes along and upsets the apple cart again.

Spud asked a perfectly valid question, maybe in a tone that some of you didn't like, but I don't beleive he asked it maliciously.
The written word is too easy to take literally, so please think just a little before questioning why someone has said something or before posting something that could be construed as posted with malicious intent by others who read.
If everyone goes that extra yard or two then we can have lively discussions with out the flames.
No more discussions of this ilk in this thread!
I thank you!

Perhaps some of my responses have been a little harsh but what do you expect when you get provoked!?
Maybe if some people STOPPED reading between the lines looking for bother and just concentrated on reading what's been written then maybe, just maybe everyone can stop jumping to conclusions!.

Come on folks,
he asked a legitimate question....How do you know that's really Meat?
Well, on this site admin knew it was Meat and he was the only one allowed to post as Fire Ball. On the OIFC, same deal, only he is allowed to post there as Meat, or whatever name he uses there. (Did I get that right, someone correct me if not?)
So if Pud's sense of humor isn't yours, don't get your knickers in a twist.

Yes this is correct. Vee has said only the man himself can post as Meat loaf, and she has verified his identity (as I said earlier)

Clearly I've not been online for a while, and I've just browsed the forum to find this thread. Quite a blow, I have to say!
Instinct is telling me to start screaming at this point - no idea why but it feels productive! But on taking a few moments, I could cry thinking about the sheer happiness you have brought to me so many times over the past 11 years, and for that, I thank you.
Since I was 6, you have always been a massive part of my life - through the good times and the bad, from being too young to catch the proper lyrics so making up the ones I didn't know, to correcting those who dare to get them wrong - and it's been lying on my bed with Bat II belting out that has got my through some tough times, and helped me to celebrate the good times.
As has quite rightly been pointed out to me, I have been extremely lucky in having met you on several occassions and felt nothing but happiness everytime ( as I never failed to express! ), and no matter what they are memories that will be with me for the rest of my life.
I'd like to say I'm sorry you've made this decision, to wish you luck in everything you do from here on - you know you have our full support - but most of all to thank you for the experience. The Meat Loaf rollercoaster has been one hell of a ride!
http://www.markhewitt.co.uk/lucymetmeatloaf.jpg
Nice post Lucy, you seemed to have summed up a few things that I couldn't find the words to say (hence, didn't post till now on this).
For Crying Out Loud, we love you Meat ;)
Digressing. I still remember the shock when I actually got bought a copy of Bat 2 and found the song I'd loved and sang for ages and played in my walkman at the time wasn't called "My Fears Are Living, And I Want My Money Back". :)
I understand that you probably wouldn't read all posts, and no reason for me to be picked out special. But that still doesn't stop me from saying that I hope you change you mind (though as everyone here, accept your decision with forboding). Would love for a "last show", if not a tour a one off show for Bat 3 that was your climax, going out on a high! The only problem from my point of view is that you can't play all the songs I wanna hear in one night :)... seems like you'll need to do a 2-concert ticket ;) hehe. (ok, i might have gotten over excited!)
Take care Meat,
Should you read this: "Hi!!! Woooo!!! Meat read my post!!"
Alex
I still think a perfect setting for a Meat Loaf gig (if he changes his mind), is Edinburgh Castle, after the Military Tattoo, as that is when they seem to hold them, before the seating comes down etc.
Just think about it, Castle in the background, Meat in a kilt *shivers at the thought and drools a bit*. The entire Scottish Capital getting treated to an outdoor live Meat Loaf gig *too much to think about*.
(After all if we can have Tom Jones, and various others playing there, WHY NOT MEAT!!!)
Think about it big man, I think it would be awesome :D
Michael (?),
I am a newbie here...relative newbie as a fan too. When your first album came out...it was long ago and I was far away. I actually got to be a fan after the second Bat came out. That's when I first heard Paradise By The Dashboard Light of all songs...and the rest is history. So...I don't even know if you're reading this or interested in this or whatever...I didn't even figure out yet how to know whether people have replied to me...duh...
In any event...Your voice changed, didn't change...doesn't matter...it is your heart and your soul and your everything that you put into your singing. It is an extreme effort that goes into every little song and detail. I am surprised you can still walk and talk after all this effort.
In any event...I saw you some years back in Radio City Hall and loved it. Then I saw you in NJ with Cindy Lauper...and I guess it was one of those off days. I wasn't disappointed...just...ummm...just a bit hurt and those were not my feelings that were hurt...it was almost actual physical pain I felt. So when the last tour came around (2005) I said...Let me remember Meat Loaf the way he was and not go to this concert...
Boy oh boy...am I eating now my words and my heart out...I honestly think that I will never forgive myself if I never will see your concert again...even if you don't have any voice left, even if you do wheelchair races on the stage, I still got to see it at least once. So please...ya know...
And to whoever says that Meat Loaf is too old to tour and to rock...I have a few words to say... You know I love you...but you have a lot to learn about rock and roll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
anyone else cack themselves when seeing this topic again?!?

Meat, I have been a fan of yours for over 5 years now and i respect every decision you make, including this. However, i'm very sadenned and seriously feel like crying and the prospect you are quiting touring because you have so many millions of fans out there who think that your previous tour was fantastic.... just like me.
Make BatIII and absolute killer and prove all the people who say your shows were crap wrong.
