What do you mean about this:
Meat did so many duets with other great singers, f.e. with Cher, Patti Russo, Bonnie Tyler, Ellen Foley, Pavarotti or Frank Farian.
But could you imagine a duet between Meat and Tom Petty?
I think it would be great! Tom Petty is also one of my most favourite singers. Can you imagine Meat is singing "Running down a dream" and "Refugee"? Or Tom is singing "Bat outta hell" and "Paradise". Or both are singing these songs together?
WHo the hell is Tom Petty?
Is he a famous singer? And in what band does he play? Or is he famous cause he can play very good on an instrument? And what kind of music does he make?
I have the same question.
Maybe Tom Petty isn't famous here in the Netherlands.

I've never heard of hime either. . . .must be an obscure singer. Perhaps he's good. Who knows? (Or cares)

Want you to tell me, that you don't know who Tom Petty is?
I'm deeply shocked!!! Tom Petty is one of the most famous Rock Stars in the world! With his band, The Heartbreakers, he had so many number one hits! "Into the great wide open", "Learning to fly", "Won't back down", "American Girl" and "Last dance with Mary Jane" are only a few of a one mile long list of superhits!
Ok, good!
He's a rock star and comes from Florida. I've never heard a man, who can play all types of guitars so very well like him. He's fantastic. He makes music since 1976 and started with his first hit "Breakdown".
I think, you still have to learn so much more about rock music! But no problem, I guess, if you ever know who Tom Petty is, and if you ever know his music, you will be with him!!!
Well, i will look for Cd's and listen to his music, you never know.
I was already glad that i knew Ted Nugent :)
There are so many artist. Specially in the USA, their like mushrooms popping out of the ground....... :)
I watched on the dutch Bol.com site, and I found a few CD's of Tom Petty.
So I will look in the library here for some CD's, and will give my oppinion.

I know a little of Tom Petty (not that very much  ) and I'm really looking for a duet with Meat and Tom.
Bat Out Of Hell could deliver some great performances...
But other artists could form a great duet with Meat.
I really could enjoy a duet wiht Meat and Bryan Adams or Bruce Springsteen. They could provide a lot of passion the same as Meat does.
But Tom Petty isn't bad eather
Maybe he could do a duet with Tina Turner. River Deep Mountain High, a song meat performed always end seventees.
Or a song with dutch female singer Anouk. Also a lady with spirit.
And maybe Bon Jovi, because I've heard that many Meat Loaf fans also like Bon Jovi. I like Bon Jovi Also.

I think that we must agree that only an artist with spirit and perhaps a very long and good history could sing with Meat. This is maybe the only way what would lead to a good song.
If not, let me know
I still reckon that some of his best duets were with Bonnie Tyler!

Agreed - Meat's duets with Bonnie Tyler were good. Still can't make my mind up about her as a solo artist tho.
How about a song composed by Lloyd Webber, written by Steinman and sung by Meat and Bon Jovi - it might blow an "excess fuse" whereby nothing could ever by excessive enough to entertain you ever again :)

I like Bon Jovi, but Meat's voice doesn't take after Bongiovi's voice. John should sing with Axel Rose, Rod Stewart or Steve Tyler.
Meat should sing with Tom Jones, Michael Ball, Andrea Bocelli or Klaus Meine from Scorpions.
The girls: Bonnie Tyler, Cher, Tina Turner, Celine Dion, Sarah Brightman.

Tom Jones - erk!
I have a problem with Tom Jones. I think the major cause is a friend of the family, who having 3 scores and 5 in years, still recounts fond memories of having thrown underwear at him. She even goes so far as to replicate this when holidaying in Cyprus 8O
It's this sort of thing that sums the chap up for me and his style of music, not that I'm in any way trying to disuade anyone from him - I'm sure he's great if it's your cup of tea :-)
Overlord.
You know Meat gives Bonjovi tips for performing on stage and how to drive the audience wild.

Her voice is only one of those!

Maybe one of those. But her voice is so strong and so pure. Not interest, but simply and pleasant.
With one word: GOOD (to me)

Hey, Tom Petty is an artist with spirit and a very long history, since 1976! I think, you need to learn more about him! Please, listen to his music and only enjoy it!

I'd love Noel Gallagher to write as ong for Meat, that'd be interesting.

Wouldn't it be good if Dave Gahan sang with Meat. . . . .lol
Don't let Noel Galagher write a song for Meat Loaf.
If someone should or must write a song, let it be someone who can write and is a great person with a character.
I just listen to some songs of Tom Petty, well it's oke. Sounds familiar. :)

I agree - Noel Gallacher shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as Meat - if he works with anyone it should be Bon Jovi, Guns N Roses, Scorpions or Magnum - now that would rock!!!

 Meat Loaf working with noel gallacher:NEVER
I'm sorry but I jusy can't stand this new style of music, with the lead singer slumped over the mic whinning and moaning lyrics that quite frankly mean nothing.
MEAT LOAF can make you want to CRY.
MEAT LOAF can make you want to DANCE.
MEAT LOAF can make you want to CHEER AND SHOUT WITH JOY UNTILL YOUR HEAD EXPLODES LIKE A GREAT CRIMSON VOLCANO.
MEAT has emotion,he sings songs that touch us.
MEAT LOAF & gallacher? Why turn wine into water.

Couldn't agree more - nobody seems to be passionate about their music anymore - the old stuff is so much better. And I say that as a 21 year old!!!!!!!!!! :!:
