As I could not resist to book tickets for Australia (although it looks unlikely that I will be able to make my way down under) I received the following notification about the change of the second Melbourne date from ticketek today by regular smail:

"... After a solid week of rehearsals with the MSO and his first Melbourne performance on February 20th, we feel it is in everyone`s best interests to move Meat Loaf`s second show to Sunday February 22nd. This allows Meat Loaf a night of rest. We feel that everyone deserves to see the best show ever. IT MAY ALSO BE OF INTEREST TO NOTE THAT THE CONCERT ON SUNDAY FEBRUARY 22ND WILL BE FILMED AND RECORDED FOR PPV, DVD AND CD.... We are looking forward to what promises to be an incredible concert tour."

YEP! Isn`t that fantastic news?!
Looks like it really is an event not to miss. Trying to be in London later this week is hard enough though.

BTW, Manchester and Sheffield rocked!!

That really is great news, something Meat Loaf fans have been waiting for a long time.
I hope that it has the full show like the ones we've been seeing in the UK these last few weeks and I hope it has some great extras such as behind the scenes footage and interviews with the band and Meat.

Should this be a DVD of a show similar to Glasgow last night...
Should this be a DVD that captures the full 2 1/2 hour show...
Should this be a DVD with maybe some videos (Anything for Love,
Rock and Roll Dreams, Objects, I'd Lie for You)...
Should this be a DVD that contains some other extras...

This might well be the best DVD ever!!!!

Although I'll settle with a DVD and CD that captures the highlights of the show also :-)

Can't wait for it though!!

What's the setlist? I thought it was the same as the London shows, but then I heard "For Crying Out Loud" was in it. Does anyone know the setlist?

I found this on undercover.co.au:

Meat Loaf's concert with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra next month will be filmed for a live DVD and CD.

The event will be directed by Michael Simon, who created Meat Loaf's VH1 Storytellers special as well as the Bee Gee's 'One Night Only.

Keith Levenson has been announced as the conductor of the Orchestra and is the man responsible for creating the arrangements for the musicians. Over the past few months, Levenson has been working on Meat Loaf classics such as 'Bat Out Of Hell', 'Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad', 'Heaven Can Wait' and 'I'd Do Anything For Love'. Meatloaf will also be performing songs from his new album 'Couldn't Have Done It Better'.

Levenson has worked in the past with Alice Cooper and Roger Daltry as well as stage productions of 'Grease', Chess' and 'Annie'.

Meat Loaf will perform with the MSO in Melbourne and Sydney only and do shows with his own nine piece band in Brisbane, Newcastle, Wollongong, Perth, Adelaide and Launceston.

TOUR DATES ARE:

February 20 and 22, MELBOURNE Rod Laver Arena * with MSO.
February 24, SYDNEY Entertainment Centre * with MSO.
February 28, BRISBANE Entertainment Centre
March 2, NEWCASTLE Entertainment Centre
March 3, WOLLONGONG Entertainment Centre
March 6 and 7, PERTH WACA

Kasim says that Meat has decided on the set list for these shows, and that there is at least one song that they have never played live before.

I read that too .... I wonder if he meant something else off CHSIB ???
Or I wonder if he meant FCOL .. because the "new lineup" of the NLE (i.e. Paul and Randy) have never played it live :)

Sounds exciting though ... and I hope they capture it all on the DVD !!
