Just wondering if anyone had seen the video for MOS?? Interested what it was like that all!
I was really really dissapointed to see the blatently low quality of the single. 2 live versions are not enough to make people buy it even if £1.99 is unusually cheap! where were the b-sdies/vids/pictures etc?? Then again, COSIBM single was great but that did badly

yeah even CHSIB had an advert in the daily newspapers the morning of its release but i saw nothing in the Sun or Daily Mirror this time. No advert on TV/Radio or anything

Right, if you actually read the news then you'd know there IS NO VIDEO and it might not be the best single from the album, but its still a million times better than the shit thats out there.
And the live tracks rule...
Be ~~~~ing thankfull there is a single at all... its very rare we get anything like this... two singles in 1 year... last time we had anything like this was 1995... 8 years ago...

As other people have mentioned there is no known video for the Man Of Steel single. An advert did appear in some areas in the Mail On Sunday and Meat Loaf was booked to sing it on Children In Need last Friday but due to his recent illness this had to be cancelled. Flyers were also left on seats at the UK concerts which were played.
If you do have any questions, you can always use the search facility (top right) before posting something that may have been already answered.

I remember with CHSIB the single emailing kasim informing him of the midweek position of 39 and it entered the chart at 31... lets hope for the same...

For £1.99 I'd say this was blatantly excellent quality!!! Great news re its mid-week position :) It's a great shame that Meat hasn't been able to be out and about promoting it .. but it makes a cracking Christmas card or small gift .. there's a lot we can do to help :)

great news number 19 mid week lets hope it stays there or gets higher!
no need to be so rude. this is a public forum where people have every right to excersise free speech.
what annoys me though is that some people (a very small minority) are so narrow minded that they cannot see past the end of their own nose and the slightest critisism, no matter how valid, can only be retaliated with abuse as contradicting the points is not possible.
Personally I love the song and have bought the single but I am still entitled to belive that compared to his last few offerings this single offered nothing new to me thats all!

No, I read the forum when I can be bothered because its mainly rubbish posted or people agreeing with other peoples posts with one line or two.
And granted, you've been a member longer, but i'm sure i've been reading longer. It took me a long time before i saw anything of interest to make me want to sign up and reply.
I agree that 19 is great news, but lets remember this is only mid week. CHSIB the album was number 1 at one point druning the mid weeks and ended up at a fantastic number 4. Whereas the single was number 39 and ended up a (slightly disapointing) number 31.
This really could go either way and I'm worried that we've all gone out and bought it in the first few days getting it to a 19 high and it will drop back down. But then again, it could go higher... which would be fantastic.
Hopefully I helped out a little this morning. I wasted £99.50 of my student loan on 50 copies of the single and handed them out free in the shopping centre here. Quite pleased of myself now :) Spend my £100 well mr loaf!!!

I've just watched it and its really obsessive...

You can choose between english and german.
I like the Video its something different, but its more nicer to see Meat in person in the videos !

I swear its in the English section -- i believe that's where i saw it this morning when i saw Krolock's post about it. Its not in the video section but in the Community section, at least on the English version of the site anyway!

I'm not very good with the technical side. I found the web site ok and looked in video then I read you had to go to community but appears you have to be a member. Is this true?? Or am I looking in the wrong place.

Yes you have to be a member, wich is free....
When you enter community you have to register.
Then you can watch the vid if yoou have realone player.
It is quit unexpected, have only watched it once, not sure yet what i think off it, I watch it on my laptop, going to watch it again on my pc tomorrow....

Don't misunderstand me: I like the song very much, but not the video
Iwill soon own the english single (thru Eva at the german board, Thanks Eva :P ) and will also buy the single in Germany to get Meat into the charts.
yeah, but come on, be honest, any video is better than no video... this video would have done well over here cos menga is 'in' and with it being a cartoon the kids would love it.

I could not agree with you more on this! To me, this all is very much about the whole of the song -not central to just the singer. The video is an amazing piece of work, as it forces you to not focus so much on who is singing the song, but rather what emotions and story is being told.

Here in the UK, there is no video, that is for the German release and at my time of posting there was no video at all... in my view, there still in no video because it's not on our screens on the music stations...
Man Of Steel was released without a video... fact...

b-sides = this means song on the single that have never been released by the artist before. songs that didnt make it onto an album. live versions arnt classed as a b-sides because those are not unrelased songs.
one thing i dont understand then - if the single gets into the top 40 and on the music stations they show clips from the video when doing a chart rundown, what exactly will they show if they dont show the cartoon thingy???
i dunno, i'm watching CD:UK whis does a top 20 run down of the sales positions so far and i'll let you know what happens...
Maybe a cartoon video has been rushed out because its going to make the charts and maybe his gay record company in the UK thought it wouldn't.
This should be handed out to the music video channels so more people see it.

I like the vid for Man of Steel. Nice to see something different done on a Meat Vid & I think it could get some young 'uns into the song. It's just a shame that its for the German release rather than the UK one & its probably too late for us to use it for promotion here (unless its used on top of the pops or something).
Hope they put the vid on the German single as it may be worth getting for that (Realtime doesn't play too well on my PC).

You're welcome :) It's animated ... a love story between two people, with the song playing in the background. You don't see Meat at all .. which is very different for him ... but I think it conveys the emotion of the song :)

I'll go check out the animated vid- Man of Steel (for the record- hey who keeps the record :lol: ) is my favorite song off the new album- it's sublime, I've ordered several copies of the single off of HMV as it is not yet available in Canada..
Such a great song!!

The closest I get to understanding German is being able to understand French, with France being near to Germany...

Luke - I had problems at first - but then I received 2 e mails (both in German) and the password was at the bottom of the second one. In the mean time I had sent an e mail to the site where it said if you have problems logging on etc. and I received another e mail in English with the password. The newletter received was in German though.

Yes I've been. It doesn't cost anything to join. The e mail is sent to you straight away. I have also received my first newsletter from them - which is very good. You can have it translated into English too.
The video is different but well worth a view.

I'm German and can translate it to you; but I think I don't need to because when you go to http://www.meatloaf.de you can choose between the german and the english version.
