View Full Version : Man of Steel review...
MEAT LOAF – MAN OF STEEL
The accompanying blurb says “this formula has had continued success for over two decades” which I will not dispute. But the real question is “WHY?????” – It’s another slice of dirgy rock-opera ballad bobbins. Ole’ Meat bashes on about how “he used to be a Man of Steel – making lurve all night long!” Listen to that record ever again? I would do anything to write this column, but I won’t do that.

yes the guy who did the review put his words wrong, but i have to agree with him in a way, the song is not a good single to put out, to weak, the usual power ballad from Meat Loaf. Once again Testify song of the year.
I wanted Testify too, but I don't think the song is weak, it's just that it may not do well with the younger generation, because they have been brainwashed with High Waist Trousers's Cowell's Pop Idol trash. My fingers crossed, it will do well. :D

Sir, your user name (particularly the last three letters) are very apt. Nuff said.

I must be getting cynical in my old age.
I was being sarcastic and didnae mean to offend anyone, I wish Meat a speedy recovery.

"Git" being the operative word .. there are times when cynicism is just rude, offensive and outrageous .. this was one of them

If this was not sacrasm as later claimed......
May the Dear Lord strike you down and set you up for two hours of surgery or more.

:??: :??: CynicalCorporateGit its people like you who call wolf , you people are all ass h???s get a life , you should be ashamed to be a member
I hope that all you people that call yourself Meat Loaf fans that have been putting him down these last few days are now sorry for what you have said. Now the news is out that Meat had a heart condition and had surgery, I hope you feel really stupid now. We should have nothing but love and adoration for Meat. If not then we aren't a fan and should get out. I wonder how the people who left his concert and cried the most that he was bad, how do you feel now. Especially those of you who saw him faint at the concert. I truely hope that you see some of these posts, and realize what you have done and will now write an appology to Meat himself. May God keep on blessing Meat and get his stronger than he was before and have many years to do the movies that he is so wanting to do. May God keep him in his hands and keep him safe and sound.
Love always Meat, always and forever from me. Unconditional love.

Mary are you implying that some people on this board are to blame for Meat's illness???
No hun, I'm not saying someone here has caused Meat to be ill. I'm saying that some people there in the UK and in the US has been putting Meat down for a bad performance as such. With his condition we all know now that it's amazing that he has gone this far without having any trouble. Some have been really putting Meat down for his performances and now we all know what was wrong with Meat. Thankfully he is going to be alright. There was one person on here that was mad that Meat passed out on stage and she wanted her money back. No compassion for Meat and him passing out at all. That is what I am saying. These people know who they are, and no need to put names here. I just hope that they now will understand and forgive Meat for passing out.

THIS THREAD HAS NOW BEEN HI-JACKED AND RETURNED TO ITS ORIGINAL COURSE: THIS HAS BEEN A BADGER PUBLIC SERVICE ANOUNCEMENT
The song will limp into the top 40. Not because 'good' music has been lost on the young generation (I listen to The Who dammnit!) but because the song IS weak. Critically speaking. I agree with the reviewer on this one, those lyrics are a bit trite, but what can you expect from Nikki Stixx?
My $0.02.
The single will chart and if they have pressed enough i guess 10-20 :??: I Like it,brought it but it's not in my first 3of the album.Haven't got much to add really its another Meatloaf song but its got something
catchy about it if it got air time who knows. One thing its out at a funny time as its going to be doing battle soon with christmas crap songs.
the younger generation, because they have been brainwashed with High Waist Trousers's Cowell's Pop Idol trash.
I don't know if you have kids but the ones i know seem to be into Busted Etc,leaving some parents watching trash idol.My 12 year old sings a blinding duet with meat on the karaoke an knows all the words without the prompts.
