"Listen Here Group!" - quote from MTYD.

I was just wondering, what do you guys think of Meat's would have been cover "Testify" 2002. I personally didn't like the orange background. It just didn't suit the feeling as the red OR blue does. The girl is cool, its pretty humerous, with that little camera taking a picture up her dress. . and the text for Testify, was kinda plain. So if you asked me, if this was going to be the cover, I personally would give it a 2. I just think orange, is not good. If this was the album cover, I would say it, would be Meat's worst cover art ever! I like it is the way now, RED or BLUE. I might just get both. :) Anyways where I started from, what do you guys think?

Testify (2002) - 2
Couldn't Have Said It Better (2003) - 8.5 <--Notice how colour can make a difference.

It's not a camera, it's an air vent blowing the dress, ala Marilyn Monroe.
I don't think it's an orange album. Orange is urban, night lights music. It's definately a yellow/red album.

 oops am i bad, sorry about that. i thought it was camera. but both are humerous. are you saying that happened to marilyn monroe?
I still prefer a blue over orange. but still cool. i can't believe it thought it was cam. looks like one.

There is a very famous scene in a Marilyn Monroe movie ("The Seven Year Itch" I think, but I am not sure) where this happens. It was a scene in a movie, not an event that happened to her in "real life".

Popular culture. Amazingly famous scene.

I don't like the cover at all I'm afraid. :(

I much prefer the Bat I, Bat II and Dead Ringer fantasy artwork covers. I would guess that there must be some restriction in place that only Steinman albums can have covers like that as all the non-Stenman covers are pretty bland looking.

Looking at the blue and red covers from a design point of view, I find that the red version works much better then the blue one.
The girl is wearing a green dress, and green works really well with red (being complimentary colours and all that). It stands out more from the background than it does on the blue version, thus making it more prominent.

And the original picture (http://www.nylon.net/nec/pinups/elvgren-funhouse-thar-she-blows.jpg) has a red background too. And I have no doubt that Mr. Elvgren used red for a pretty good reason.

I prefer the red over the blue. It just stands out more being red.

I agree ... it stands out more on the red, but I like them both :)
