View Full Version : New edit of paradise
I'm listening to Paradise on Apple Music in the US and The moaning is removed from the play by play and ellen's voice is different. There are different backing vocals and some instruments are different. Whats happened???

From the brief description I believe you are somehow listening to the 5.1 super audio surround sound mix or a stereo version created from it
Nope. I figured it out. Apple Remastered the album and took artistic liberties. Every song is different. Apple digital masters released new verisons of the same tracks. They do this with a lot of albums
Make sure you listen to the apple digital master version of the album
its crazy.

When gaming was pure fun.
It's kinda interesting this is happening both from a moral point of view and a technical point of view.
Technical
That Rockband 3 version, you can still hear the moaning a tiny bit.
I bet, IF the Apple version is different, it is possibly completely removed, at least to our ears.
AI technology is getting incredibly sophisticated at removing vocals and in turn also removing background music and leaving you only with an acapella version.
Moral
The hardest of hardcore porn is now just a few finger clicks away, this used to be quite different. I remember as a teenager buying a Playboy magazine at the local newspaper outlet / bookstore and this being a big deal amongst friends etc at 14-15. :-P
Now we seems to be sort of expecting big corporations and governments to look after our children so moaning in songs should be removed?
I bet Apple music have also altered several of Janet Jackson's 90s songs if they are available. Those used to be quite... eh.... steamy.:oops:
Beyond the moral question this is a bit sad as you won't hear the artists' original interpretation. I bet Apple don't give a shit, especially since Meat and Jim have passed.

The truth in Canada as well as anywhere. We raise our own kids and we get a lot of flack for that. Everyone's always surprised they're not in day care or school. There are concerned reactions that their own parents are raising them. It's actually a horrifying realization that this is seen as a 'risk' to the child.
Anyways, if anyone has the link to the new paradise, feel free to post it here. I'd love a listen.
Personally, I find it wrong that they are changing the songs in such a way. Meat and Jim would not like that. It should be about respecting the original artist's wishes and art style. If Meat and Jim were anything, they were not shy about being over the top. Some moaning in paradise is the least of the worries for 'kids these days'. Easily available porn and the ~~~~ed up self-image that teens can get via social media all have a 100-fold-worse-potential than moaning in a 50 year old song. There are many other examples.
Can we get someone at Apple who cares about Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman to control how these songs sound. I'll check back when I'm a skeleton, because I am guessing that's how long it'll take for that to be addressed.

It's not just Jim and Meat's songs - lots of artists' songs are getting different mixes; the rumour is that they are mixed to sound best on headphones as that is how most people listen to Apple Music.

I think all you chaps are barking up the wrong tree with this and it is the mix made for the 5.1 super audio CD

If that's the case and there was no nefarious purpose, then I feel like 90 years old right now for complaining. It's all about context. If this is just an incidental change due to a technology upgrade, *yawn*, nothing to see here. Except, perhaps, some tweaks to the mix to get it to sound closer to the original (louder moaning? lmao) but in 5.1 awesomeness in the headphones or Dolby Atmos or whatever other formats it is destined for. Atmos is so amazing at times...
