Awful. So young...
We shared a very similar path of how we became fans and when we saw Meat Loaf live for the first time in The Netherlands.
His contributions to the lyrics resources were unmatched and really helped me to understand for example some of the growling / mumbling / unclear vocals from Todd Rundgren in "Loving you is a dirty job"!
My thoughts are with his family and friends.
Make the best of your lives and the moments you have, whether alone or together. Connect with things and people. Don't dwell on the negative or those who bring you down but always stay passionate.

Evil's wife/widow here...
No idea where this news came from but...
He did not, and has never had cancer.
I wish I could refute the other news as well, but alas, the passing of this wonderful person is a fact.
I would like to stress that he died from a hereditary condition that had absolutely nothing to do with cancer.

Very sorry to read of this.
William always seemed like a very nice guy, a massive fan and someone who wasn't afraid to speak his mind when needed, but in a way that was balanced and fair. I'm sorry I never got to meet him.
My sympathies to the Groenendijk family and friends
