View Full Version : It just won't quit
I wondered why meat never sung this classic song of bat2. On tour very. Much is it because meat couldn't find the right character. For the song. Can someone give some light on this??

I think many of us would have loved to experience this one live. It's always been one of my favourites.

Is this a wind up?
Just won't quit. Not seen meat singing this live is there some material out there
That would be amazing. I think i read somewhere meat couldn't find the character in IJWQ.
Carly do you know why . Meat dont sing just wont quit .live I know he must have done , just wondered why meat dont carly . I love the song of bat 2
My name is not Carly but I believe Meat has stated he doesn't sing It Just Won't Quit live as he can't find the right character/emotional state to adequately convey the song, which is a shame.
Thanks for the info . I think meat should sing , it as himself would be great
easy it just wont quit anyone have any footage of meat singing this great song
No footage is known to exist. I doubt he even mimed it for TV. if any of us did have footage or a recording they should be fed to the Rancor for not sharing it.
why does meat never sing live just won't quit
Originally it was because he felt that he couldn't put enough emotion into the song to make it work live night after night.
does any one have a live recording of meat doin just wont quit , on dvd:(
Such a thing does not exist unfortunately. Meat only sang it live once, on the Storytellers tour.
does anyone have a clip of just won't quit , when was the last time meat sung this live :??::??:
not sure he ever has :??:

It's still worth noting from time to time how this great song & record has been under-exposed ,,,

I thought the windup was the random punctuation. I needed three attempts to work out it was pretty much one sentence.
As for the point though...i suppose you can never have the same answer to a question too many times. :??:

Does anyone know why Meat has never sung "It just won't quit live?".
Does anyone know why Meat has never sung "It just won't quit live?".
Obviously because it's a neverending song and his concerts are only 2 to 2,5 hours long...
Is this a wind up?
I know I brought this topic up in the past evil one. But as time moves on I wondered it was worth, bringing up again to see if anyone else. Had any information

I believe it's because Meat couldn't find the character.

Just right, no harm in asking
If you don't know the answer, ask questions, do research, test theories, experiment... it's how we grow our knowledge.
In science, there should never be consensus...
and although this isn't science, the question still isn't answered definitively, so keep asking, keep questioning!
Thankyou
Well It was brought to my attention a former(?) admin here (I wont name names) has a recording of it from the Storytellers show where it WAS performed (partially).
They didn't wanna share it and is no longer active here. take that as you will.
why keep that from fans? If you see this please reconsider :)

Remains one of Jim's best compositions and one of Meat's best studio performances. It really captures a rare mood.

And (minor trivia) it's one of the few songs on which Meat also sings backing vocals in addition to the lead. There have only been a handful of those in his career.

To my ears this is that handful of times its happened:
Took the Words
Two Out Of Three Ain't bad
Keeper keep Us
Nowhere Fast
Piece of the Action
Don't Leave Your Mark on Me
Razor's Edge
the Promised Land
Life is a Lemon (most notable on the "its defective" part)
It Just Wont Quit
Out Of The Frying Pan
Objects
Do It
Blind as a Bat
In the land of the Pig
Break It
Los Angeloser
Party of One

You might try checking the liner notes, Wario. ;) Per credits, he sings backup on "Paradise" (and does hand claps on "Took the Words" but that's not singing), "Fallen Angel," "Execution Day," "Rock and Roll Mercenaries," "Burning Down," "Masculine," and "It Just Won't Quit."

What are these "liner notes" you speak of? Are these some sort of ancient technology of the past?
