Great to see the dates rolling in. I assume there will be some changes in the band lineup, as Stacey is scheduled to perform with Kid Rock on these dates.

I'm confused........

Didn't Meat say he would never tour again? I know he has said this a few times but this looks like a US tour to me?

One more tour in the UK in the winter perhaps?

As for Stacey not being in the band - is it time for a sensational Patti Russo return?!!!! :-P

Dont bet on it. She's making a name for herself as a solo artist now.

I doubt it- I didn't see that option listed for the shows that have been announced so far.

No, he said he was finishing touring, that he would do one last UK tour (which included Europe) and after that said he would do one final tour for his US fans. I think that answers both your questions ..

The August run of 12 shows in the USA is less than he had originally hoped to do, so it's possible he might do more perhaps next year to give them a final chance. He has repeatedly answered questions about touring the UK again in the negative; had planned to bring R&C to London for a residency late October, but that seems unlikely now with the changed release date for the new album .. though it's possible we might hope for a London residency next year

No imo

The Meat Loaf show at Seneca Casino got canceled:( I don't know why

The listing has been removed from TM and Meat's Events page on FB .. but this could mean there was an inaccuracy in the listing rather than the show being cancelled

Exactly .... it's still listed on the casino's official website.

I hate to be the bringer of bad news but I saw this on RiverEdge Park (Aurora, Illinois, USA) Facebook Page...

MEAT LOAF AT RIVEREDGE PARK: CANCELED

We were just notified that MEAT LOAF has canceled his 2015 summer tour. As a result, we are forced to cancel his August 23 date at RiverEdge Park. If you purchased tickets to MEAT LOAF’s show, the box office will contact you within the next 48 hours to complete your full ticket refund. Thanks for your patience, music fans.

Read the announcement HERE (https://www.facebook.com/RiverEdgeAurora)

Things may just have been cancelled because of scheduling issues but for them to have said that the tour was cancelled doesn't seem to be very encouraging.

I'm really sorry to everyone that was looking forward to going. :(

Still meat has not confirmed any shows yet anyway

CarylB
02 May 2015, 14:20
Two weeks ago Meat told me he planned to do 12 shows in August in the USA. Last year he was planning to do 20-25 summer shows, but as we know the album release was delayed, and his 2015 plans have changed.

When I asked him about the first one that came up (Riveredge) he laughed and said the first he'd heard of it was when he saw it on the internet, but said he was doing 12 shows in August and assumed it would be one of these .. he said he didn't know what dates and venues had been agreed for this August outing.

It may be that he has recently had to take a decision not to do the August run .. on the other hand it is also possible that the venues who have been advertising shows were going on last year's plan, and the 12 in August are still going ahead but to a different schedule.

Riveredge saying that the 2015 tour has been cancelled may simply be that last year's schedule which included them has been cancelled, and that the promoters have had to book 12 shows which may not be able to include all the August dates/venues on that previous plan.

As Tony implies .. best to wait until Meat himself confirms there will be shows in August

Unless it's part of a bigger plan is it really worth investing the time, money and effort for just 12 shows?

CarylB
02 May 2015, 15:41
Clearly Meat thought so, and who's to say what part of his bigger planning these shows are? He got the band together for just 2 in the USA in 2001 over a year after ST had finished, in 2006 did just 5 in the USA after the 3 promotional shows for Bat3, Australian tours are not lengthy there were just 13 for GP .. and Last at Bat was only 17 shows, and that involved bringing them all together to the UK and Europe, far more costly than doing a short run in the USA.

All I'm doing is passing on what he said 2 weeks ago, and pointing out that when a short programme to replace a longer tour is set up it would not necessarily be simply 12 of the shows originally planned which happened to fall in August.

I honestly doubt it was either one. I still have a feeling either they're still trying to plan out the shows or Meat knows he's going to be busy and their plans have changed. Hopefully we'll get confirmation from Meat soon :-)

I agree. I really don't think any show gets cancelled due to lack of sales before sales start! ;)

There will be a logical reason, and as to

Maybe he just can't be arsed. Give him a break.

I doubt Meat has EVER pulled out of anything because he "can't be arsed". I appreciate this may be a reaction to all the speculation, but I don't think Meat was born with the "can't be arsed" gene in his body ;) However I DO agree with and endorse Andrew's second comment!

We don't KNOW why these shows were briefly on offer and then cancelled, but given Meat's commitment to everything he does and to those who support him, he does deserve our patience, and understanding for something that may be entirely out of his hands.

AndrewG
04 May 2015, 15:33
Well I'd rather he cancelled because he can't be bothered rather than that it's because of the above comments: ticket sales or his health. Maybe I am just too selfless.

You're not too selfless .... but I'd rather he cancelled because of a conflict in his schedule, not because he couldn't be bothered ;) Like you posted earlier, we need to give him a break, and hopefully we'll get confirmation soon.

I don't think they had been on sale long enough this far in advance to gauge based on ticket sales. More likely it has to do with Meat's schedule or release date for the album, additional album tweaks, or any number of reasons. We can only speculate.

I suppose until a date is "officially" confirmed by Meat's side as opposed to the venue it isn't 100% definite.

Does it state because of illness? They presumed I reckon,

it deefinitely does. Of couse the media is feeding off of the "report" that it's due to an unspecified illness....Sounds like baloney, Caryl was just saying how she spoke with Meat and made no mention of him being unwell, so IMO he's doing just fine and the media is stirring the pot. Until I hear from Meat, I'm not going to sit here in fear that he's not feeling well!

I was going with what was in the article. It states that the Venues were told the cancelations was Due to illness and Yes I would rather hear why from Meat but it has been close to a week and no word from him and one would think Meat would come out with some statement regarding the cancelations knowing fan would be wondering.

That's the other side of the coin...If the reports are true that cancellations were due to illness, then that makes me worry. Because as Caryl said there wasn't any cause for concern not long ago, so if something changed recently, hopefully it's not too serious....Seems to be a rough time of year for many of my favorite older artists :(

Last I heard he was back in LA recording. I think the many "reports" of illness are due to the media picking up on a statement by one venue, which may simply be nothing more than a general cover-the-ass comment

Could be his other knee, maybe it has to be replaced this summer. In May 2013 he told us during the meet&greet in Zwolle (while showing the scar on his operated left knee), that the other one had to be done in the future.

But it's pure speculation, maybe it's just because of his album release schedule.

Exactly .. IF the cancellations really are due to any "health issues" (and we don't know that they are) they are far more likely to be mechanical rather than medical .. Meat doesn't cancel shows 4 months in advance because he's feeling poorly

nikox1
09 May 2015, 00:29
Most likely the U.S. dates will be done at another time, Meat is working and putting the finishing touches to I would say perhaps he's final album. I reckon he wants to go out with a bang and give the fans an album to be proud of. Plus there will be a lot of promo to be done leading up to it months before it's released. Keep your eyes peeled around the months of June and July :D

Ps- of course let's hope no health reasons have come about in the past few days or weeks.

GenoJLaw

June or July? I can only look at the same teaser poster for so long;) Oh well I guess I can wait. Hope Meat is well and it's only knee problems not that that's fun too deal with.
