I saw them , the original. Rosie was so taken aback by Meat's kiss that she said either the next program or shortly thereafter that she had to talk to her therapist about it. ( as she is gay). she says she felt disturbed by it, are words to that affect.

Rosie is a outspoken comedian, actress and yes she is heavy. She is also gay. I like her .she is just heavy and had a weight issue all her life, you know, like Meat.

if that kiss was not planned or he went too far, can't blame her for being upset.

I would hope it was staged but she was very upset about it for some time. She referenced it more than once-- if that was for publicity, it was negative publicity b/c even I felt sorry for her. This happened to me once and it was not funny.
She has always been very outspoken. Her disdain for " Welcome to the Neighborhood" can be seen in her face.
I used to be a big fan of hers and watched her show daily and all her movies. I did not feel it was staged and have always wondered about this.

I'm sure if she did talk to her therapist about it as a serious matter she wouldn't have then told the. If she said it soon after it happened I can't help but think this.

Rosie o donnell is a comedien. Do you realize what comediens are like ?

The fact that se referenced it many times is even more indication that it was for entertainment.

Her disdain for 'welcome to the neighborhood'? I bet she didn't even listen to it.

On a side note ML looks fantastic.

Indeed. Such as the running Jimmy Kimmel/Matt Damon feud.

the disdain is for the artwork on the album which some would interpret as not respectful to women . that is what the disdain is about.
yes Rosie is a comedian and she is a talk show host and actress and a gay activist. she has always been an outspoken person about everything. As far as talking about her therapy openly, well that is something she would do. She is very outspoken. she has weight issues and is very open about her life .
I have to admit the show bothered me. I am a Meat fan and always will be but it just struck a sour note with me.

you are reading too much into it. Theres this thing called humor. And I feel you didnt watch the second interview. You can obviously tell they were just messing.

If she was really offended by the issue I doubt she would have had him back on a second time? I'm sure she had some say on guests on her own show...

can someone post the copy to the front cover of WTTN?
really look at it, what do you think?

yes there is humor. I have a great sense of humor. That does not change how the episode appeared to me and I imagine others. it is just my personal feelings, that is all.

Of course I know the response to this, I have used it many times to those who objected to Paradise,
Screw them if they can't take a joke. so I will take that advise myself.

The cover of the CD looks like pulp art from the 1950s.... theres really nothing more to it.

I have to say Rosie WHO ? So whether she was or was not upset, frankly who cares ? Truth is she wanted to do the second part of Paradise so she should have known what to expect - groping, tongues in the mouth etc - if not then she's led a very sheltered life !!!

Rosie is gay, but she also did that whole thing where she was obsessed with Tom Cruise. So she's not against doing heterosexual things for the sake of entertainment. (Hope that didn't sound too messed up)

Sadly that sounds a bit like, she wore that low cut dress etc, so what does she expect?
As far as her sexual orientation, well she has never been linked with a guy that I am aware of. She has been openly gay for many years . I saw the episode when she finally had Tom Cruise on and it was rather cute, not suggestive at all. Her shows have always been family oriented. she patterned herself after Merv Griffin show. There were children in the audience always so she kept the show more or less G rated, which I thought was wonderful. You could let your kids watch and not be afraid of what they would see. She was known as the Queen of Nice at that time, and she really was, you know , nice.

I thought Paul's point was that if she wanted to perform the whole of Paradise she should know what that entails .. it's been performed enough times, the make-out scene is a well-known and documented part of the song's performance, she's a professional comedian and actor.

Quite different imo to arguments like "if she wore a low cut dress she should expect to be groped".

I agree with those who say it's simply humour, to be anticipated with that song .. and didn't she partner up with Listerine who donated bottles of mouthwash to the studio audience and donated $1,000 to charity every time a hosted guest would kiss her? If she genuinely was horrified by Meat's stage kissing I'd have to observe it seems to be a question of payment ;)

Despite her speaking forcefully on major issues like gun control and terrorism, I find her a bit prudishly judgemental on matters I consider rather low priority at times .. for eg her "disdain" for an album cover, and her dislike of Fight Club, which prompted her, on the Friday that the movie was released in the United States, to give away the twist at the end of the film, telling her viewers to avoid the film at all costs. By all means do the latter if you think some of your viewers will hang on your view .. but to broadcast a spoiler? Tacky and wholly unnecessary imo.

What has sexual orientation got to do with having Meat on a show for an interview and "performing" Paradise with him? Do you even know what "performing" means? If you are saying no gay woman could ever "perform" the part of a hetero sexual woman or kiss a man then I have to conclude you are mad and more sexist than the WTTN cover.

I'm sure the therapist thing was just an exaggerated joke intended to milk that part of the show.

And if you still wanted to maintain Rosie had to spend time with a therapist about this then you could have just googled this before making such a ridiculous outlandish claim:

This is all I will say about this subject. It appeared Rosie was very upset from the kiss and she did mention she had talked to her therapist about it.
I know we all know Paradise has sexual grouping in it, but not everyone is as familiar with Meat Loaf as we are. Rosie showed disdain for the cover art on the WTTN album and I don't blame her. I don't like it either.
Fight Club was a great movie and whatever she did was uncalled for b/c it was amazing and so was Meat.
I have been a Meat fan for many years and enjoy his music to the max . I reserve the right to not like something just b/c I don't like it- and still think Meat is amazing. Period.

Well, if that woman had done her homework well, she knew what to expect from Meat, especially with 'Paradise". She obviously didn't because she doesn't even know the right lines for the few sentences she had to sing.

I don't know her, she might be a nice person, but I hate it when people don't do their homework when it comes to Meat. I have seen it often in several interviews and tv shows.

Rosie is NOT what I would consider to be a "professional" when it comes to her interview skills. I will gladly reference to her verbally attacking Tom Selleck when he was on her show. Her behavior was totally unacceptable during that interview.

Interesting. I looked that up and I have to agree with you. As much as I don't think gun ownership is correct ripping a "guest" apart like she did who only came on the show to plug a movie is ~~~~ing mental. And how she doesn't listen to anyone's opinion is insane too. Thought Tom conducted himself very decently there even though I disagree with some of the ideologies which he his basing is arguments on.

You piqued my interest and I too checked out the Selleck interview.

I am 100% behind the gun control laws we have in the UK. I say this to emphasise that I am someone who does not consider there is a need for guns to be in the home or the hands of private citizens, and that I would actually agree it seems incomprehensible that automatic assault rifles should be considered a need or a right of private citizens to have in their homes.

However, her constant badgering, interrupting and aggressive physical invasion of Selleck's space, in contrast to his calm, patient attempts to articulate the broad range of issues the USA face in this difficult area (far more complex imo than here, where we have never enshrined the right to bear arms in any constitution, and have for many, many years had some form of control of private ownership of firearms) had me on Selleck's side, even though I suspect that like Andrew I would no be in full agreement with him.

I don't get her shows here, and have never gone out of my way to watch them when in the USA. Now I would go out of my way to avoid them. Rosie may well be bright, quick thinking and caring .. but I have to agree with Dave. Imo to be a good interviewer requires a broader skill set than standing on a soapbox to hammer your point! I saw none of this broader range.
