Great news for Meat's fans in the USA and Canada. 10th Street Entertainment have confirmed that "CHSIB" (the album) will be released on the 23rd September on Sanctuary Records.

There is no confirmation for a single at this time.

The single is coming out on 15th August if I remember correctly, although I'm not certain what it is (I'm guessing its CHSIB). I saw an announcement on the KasimInfo blog a few days ago.

I have spoken to 6 corporate Head Offices of major outlets in the USA this week and none have any release for Meat identified for the next month, which makes me wonder if a decision has been made to defer/cancel the single release.

Even in the UK last April stores were expecting the single even though the distribution had gone horribly awry. None of the Head Offices I spoke to in the US held out any hope of CHSIB being in stores during August.

Tha album was first released in Germany, then in the UK. The reason given for a delay in the release to the USA was that Meat could not get signed with a company in the USA.

He signed with Polydor for Germany and Mercury for the UK, both these being subsidiaries of Universal Music, who I believe are releasing it in New Zealand.

As to why Meat could not get signed with a company in the US until his recent agreement with Sanctuary .. I guess those business issues are something which he knows.

Releasing the album in Europe first is not so strange as it may at first seem. Meat's popularity in Europe has never waned, and his albums have always sold well here. His shows sell out almost as soon as they go on sale.

All I can say is that it's about time they got this thing going. I'm getting really antsy for this one. I've heard so much about it and it's all been good. And there were a lot of people I could see singing along with the new music in Denver.

Now how many days in the countdown?

I think this album is going to do well in the US- I've had occasion to talk about it quite a bit in the last few days and each time whoever I talk to is very excited to hear that a new ML album is coming- not one of them knew about it already. My local newspaper's music critic did a big article on "autumn's new albums", with nary a mention of ML. I sent an email to the reviewer (with one of the ML Multimedia ecards attached) to make sure she is aware of it, but I haven't heard from her yet. I've also found a group of ML fans in the mothers (and grandmothers) who gather to drop kids off at my son's school- ML fans are everywhere, sometimes you just have to ask!

That's great :))

I agree Sherrie .. I think it's going to do real well in the US too.
I talked to several people after the show at the Mohegan Sun ... it was the first time they heard the new songs and they were really impressed, especially with CHSIB ! They all said they can't wait to hear the entire CD :))

And yet still no listing of Meat :(

I even contacted someone at sanctuarygroup.com for information about Meat's US promotional appearances. He suggested that I check out the site, even though he didn't know whether it was up to date or not ...
