Hi, dear friends. Been missing all of you terribly, but haven't been able to check in as I had hoped, until now. Have two incredible ML/Cyndi shows under my belt, so to speak. The next one won't be for a few days. I have SO much to share with you about them both, but that will have to wait until I'm back home and have some time to pull all my thoughts together. Been trying to take notes to remind me of what happened where. Have some photos and other goodies to share with you all, too. And I'm looking forward to that.

But I have some news from Meat that I wanted to share with all of you as quickly as possible.

At the L.A. concert, on a readerboard next to the stage, it stated that CHSIB would be released in September and the single, on August 15th, when he does Good Morning, America. It also went on to say that next week, more TV appearances would be announced.

But tonight, in Las Vegas, the readerboard was different. So, right away, we knew that something had changed.

Meat went on to talk about it, All this time, we have known that he's had problems with record companies in the US. We just never knew exactly what.

He told us that he had a major disagreement with the first company who was interested in the album and who was going to release it in May, and he left them. Then, he was going with another company who was supposed to release it in June, in time for this tour, and from what he said, it sounded like they couldn't (or wouldn't) make a reasonable offer on it and he told them they "were f...ing crazy," to use Meat's words.

But, here's the GOOD news: He has found a company who apparently love this album and he has signed with Sanctuary Records who will release the album on SEPTEMBER 23rd!!!! We now have a definite date!!!

He said that, of course, he had wanted the album to be ready BEFORE the tour and for the tour. That's what you do when you come out with a new album. But he was having so much fun right now that he didn't care.

Interestingly enough, in L.A., at the concession stands, they had copies of CHSIB, which really surprised us. But upon closer inspection, we saw that it was the European version and they were autographed. And sold as collector's items. That's how he was able to do this. There were NONE available in L.V. that we could see. So, perhaps, they sold out in L.A.

So much more to share with you. But forgive me, the reviews, etc. will have to wait until we are back home and settled again.

Cyndi/Meat concerts ARE strange and I agree wholeheartedly with the one review already posted here that the L.A. show was disastrous, in terms of the audience, with so many Cyndi fans picking up and leaving. The audience wasn't great to begin with and here was Meat up there just pouring his heart and soul out to everyone. It really broke my heart and made me extremelly angry, as people continued to leave even during his portion of the show!! Talk about rude!!!!!!!!!

Las Vegas was a little better, although many of the Cyndi fans left DURING Meat's appearance, but were there for a while. This show had its own share of problems--from the technical side. It seemed a bit nightmarish in the first half of the show. But, you know Meat--he took control, he changed things around and got back on track, and the show was HOT during most of the second half!!!

I'm exhausted but oh, so happy!!! Those of you who are waiting for this show to come to your area--you are in for a BIG treat!! But you already know that!! :D

Anyway, I hope all of you are well. I'm sure I've missed lots while I've been gone. And I've certainly missed being here with all of you!

Take good care. Talk with you again soon, I hope.

Love to you all,
MB

Hello Mbrevard,

Just read your complete post. THanks for the review and things. Hopefully the disks will be soon in the USA now. YOu have to wait all that time... that is really bad.

And the show sounds pretty cool, but to bad for the technical problems... but then again... meat is allways able to put a show to his hand.

Do you know about recorinds of those shows??? Let me know if so.

And when are you gonna answer my email??? :?

Fondly, The Butcher.

Thanks MB for letting us know the latest news. I had a thought about all this, with all the comparisons Meat has made with CHSIB and Bat I, maybe the record label problem is a good omen. Just one more similarity in a long list and now the label he chose is behind him all the way.

Great to hear you are having a good time, MB. Please keep us upated.

So glad to hear you were able to go to the concerts MB!!! I know you were bummed at the cancellations. The show in Denver had some technical problems too with his mic not on when he came on stage and then the levels not where they should be but they were quickly taken care of and corrected. There were a lot of Cyndi fans that left here too but I really didn't pay that much attention to them because I was on such a cloud. Sharon and her daughter that I met up with before the show had a couple of tix given to them from some Cyndi fans when they left and wound up sitting in the 5th row!!!

It's sad these people didn't stay but then I think there were also people that came late because they were there for Meat.

From what I've heard and experienced, Sanctuary Records are quite good, and a great deal of good, 'older' bands are signed to it.

Hi MB!

It's great to hear from you, I've been wondering how your concerts went. It had never occured to me that the Cyndi Lauper fans would leave after her portion of the concert! To me, it sounded like a heck of a double bill. What a waste, to walk out on an ML concert. If they had only stayed they would have no doubt been converted to hardcorn ML fans. I await your review with bated breath!!!!

Hi! Great to hear from everyone. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

VERY glad to hear that Sanctuary Records is a good company. Thanks, William, for that info.!! I'd never heard of them before.

Tim--I don't have access to my regular email while we're on the road. Sorry. Will try to respond in a week or so when we get back home.

We're just leaving Vegas (decided to stay a few extra days) and heading off to Reno and the next four concerts. Will try to check in again if it's possible and there's more news to tell. There has to be an Internet Cafe around somewhere in that city.

Really hoping the next few venues go well for Meat and Co. and the Cyndi fans are more polite! The last couple of concerts are supposed to be opened by Kasim!! That's what we're hoping, anyway. It will be good to hear him singing his songs again!!

Hope you all are keeping well!!

Take care, everyone!

Sending love to you all,
MB
