Hi, dear friends. Been missing all of you terribly, but haven't been able to check in as I had hoped, until now. Have two incredible ML/Cyndi shows under my belt, so to speak. The next one won't be for a few days. I have SO much to share with you about them both, but that will have to wait until I'm back home and have some time to pull all my thoughts together. Been trying to take notes to remind me of what happened where. Have some photos and other goodies to share with you all, too. And I'm looking forward to that.
But I have some news from Meat that I wanted to share with all of you as quickly as possible.
At the L.A. concert, on a readerboard next to the stage, it stated that CHSIB would be released in September and the single, on August 15th, when he does Good Morning, America. It also went on to say that next week, more TV appearances would be announced.
But tonight, in Las Vegas, the readerboard was different. So, right away, we knew that something had changed.
Meat went on to talk about it, All this time, we have known that he's had problems with record companies in the US. We just never knew exactly what.
He told us that he had a major disagreement with the first company who was interested in the album and who was going to release it in May, and he left them. Then, he was going with another company who was supposed to release it in June, in time for this tour, and from what he said, it sounded like they couldn't (or wouldn't) make a reasonable offer on it and he told them they "were f...ing crazy," to use Meat's words.
But, here's the GOOD news: He has found a company who apparently love this album and he has signed with Sanctuary Records who will release the album on SEPTEMBER 23rd!!!! We now have a definite date!!!
He said that, of course, he had wanted the album to be ready BEFORE the tour and for the tour. That's what you do when you come out with a new album. But he was having so much fun right now that he didn't care.
Interestingly enough, in L.A., at the concession stands, they had copies of CHSIB, which really surprised us. But upon closer inspection, we saw that it was the European version and they were autographed. And sold as collector's items. That's how he was able to do this. There were NONE available in L.V. that we could see. So, perhaps, they sold out in L.A.
So much more to share with you. But forgive me, the reviews, etc. will have to wait until we are back home and settled again.
Cyndi/Meat concerts ARE strange and I agree wholeheartedly with the one review already posted here that the L.A. show was disastrous, in terms of the audience, with so many Cyndi fans picking up and leaving. The audience wasn't great to begin with and here was Meat up there just pouring his heart and soul out to everyone. It really broke my heart and made me extremelly angry, as people continued to leave even during his portion of the show!! Talk about rude!!!!!!!!!
Las Vegas was a little better, although many of the Cyndi fans left DURING Meat's appearance, but were there for a while. This show had its own share of problems--from the technical side. It seemed a bit nightmarish in the first half of the show. But, you know Meat--he took control, he changed things around and got back on track, and the show was HOT during most of the second half!!!
I'm exhausted but oh, so happy!!! Those of you who are waiting for this show to come to your area--you are in for a BIG treat!! But you already know that!! :D
Anyway, I hope all of you are well. I'm sure I've missed lots while I've been gone. And I've certainly missed being here with all of you!
Take good care. Talk with you again soon, I hope.
Love to you all,
