This thread isn't about Meat Loaf's covers like Promised land or Califor(nyah) dreamin' but songs Meat did first that other artists covered.
Here is my personal favourite and (IMO) best cover of a Meat song.

I can't say I've ever heard a cover that I've liked; Glee's version of Paradise was O.K but I've never really enjoyed any others

I'm really funny about people doing Meat Loaf songs :?
I never realised it until Andy and I saw a Meat Loaf tribute and I absolutely hated it, I get really precious about people doing "his songs". Admittedly, this was the first Meat Loaf I'd seen or heard since that night in Newcastle, so probably wasn't in the right frame of mind for it anyway, but I don't like people touching those songs - no idea how I'd do watching BOOH The Musical!

There's a Country version of 2 outta 3 that's not bad, always thought covers should bring something new to a song and it does try to.
Personally I wish you hadn't fixed the youtube link above, could've done without that lol

I take it by that, that you didn't like the cover.
Alan Merrill's version of 2 out of 3 is probably my favourite

I agree. Meat makes the songs his own, and for me no-one can bring as much to them. The covers all lack an essential passion and truth that Meat uniquely brings, and however anyone might try to bring something new to the song, it will be lost on me because of those vital lacking ingredients. Queen were never able to replace Freddie for me; there was something missing that was irreplaceable. This is why I'd never go to a tribute show, not one to Meat or anyone else. Like a copy designer perfume, there's something missing imo.
To be honest, if BOOH The Musical ever got off the ground, I don't think I'd want to see it.

Well no one can replace Meat to be true but this thread is not about how much we love Meat (which is alot) but rather what is your favourite cover?

And I was agreeing with Lucy, and explaining why I don't have a favourite cover because I don't like them .. OK?

That is fine but if you do have a cover of a Meat song that you kind of like then there is no shame in sharing it.

I think it's hard to top someone playing the Bat piano riff on a ukulele. Plus the "bike"effects

That's awesome! lol I was wondering how he was going to handle the motorcycle solo.
Slightly different thing, but I know somebody who swears he hears the BOOH guitar riff in this song, and now that I've heard it, I can un-hear it! lol
