Sincerely hoping the op isn't too bad and you recover quickly, and stronger than ever.
Don't know exactly when you go under the knife Meat, but let me be the first to wish you a speedy and complete recovery.
Let us know exactly when and we will be thinking of you on the day, and wishing you the best throughout your recovery.

Dear God No!!
Seriously though, it's only knee surgery. I imagine that ML can afford good surgeons, so Dr.Nick won't be doing the work.

Get well soon Big Man, may I recommend lots of TLC and G&T!
Maybe wait till the Doctors give you the all clear before you get down on them and Testify huh?
Hope all goes well, and having been through a couple of minor knee operations in the past myself, from bitter experience - make sure you do ALL your physio afterwards!

I hope everything goes great for you Meat. love ya
Meat,
I know you will tackle this challenge like an athlete....yeah, it's gonna hurt, but in the end you'll be in a much more comfortable state than you have been leading up to and dealing with the foreplay of "procedures" on them. Focus on the rehab/physio with your tenacious drive and it'll be a okay. Cheers to a successful surgery and recovery!
Much love,
Suzanne
These aren't minor.
I'm quite sure that Andy meant that his own knee ops were minor, not that his ops were also minor
These aren't minor.
I know that replacements are major surgery, the parallel I was attempting to draw was that after two minor operations I know the benefits of enduring with the physio (both in session and the exercises one is given to do on a regular basis when the physio isn't around), so it's even more important for a double knee replacement.

I go in for Surgery on Nov19th... hoping for it to be straight forward, the Dr told us my knee looked completely different than what he has seen before. It was pushed out and to the left. Normally 99% turn in and right. He said it might be nothing but won't know till he get's inside. I am hoping all my tendons can be saved . That is my one fear. If they replace tendons the recovery is much longer !! I am afraid I tore a tendon on that movie Stage Fright, doing a stunt. If I drank Beer I would toast all of you right now !

Interesting about anatomy orientation of the knee. I never knew.
I will toast to you, but the stiffest I have at the moment is a bottle of H2O (it's a work night).

Do you think you can throw out a courtesy status somewhere, when you are up to it, and after surgery is complete to let all us mother hens off the hook of worry on Nov. 19th? Pretty Please and thank you in advance.

As one of the "mother hens" I want to wish you the best of luck with your surgery Meat.
Been a registered nurse for 16 years, I just recently went back to Med/Surg floor nursing a month ago. We get a lot of bilateral knees. I am astonished to see how incredibly advanced ortho has become over the years. I know in my heart you will do just fine. Undeniably a painful, major surgery but I also know, just from being a huge fan, you have what it takes...endurance!!
From my experience, when it's over and you are fully recovered and pain free...you will feel like the six million dollar man with "bionic" knees!!
I watched you run across the stage 8 shows this year in AWE, I can't even imagine what you'll be like in 2013!!
PCA, CPM, and PT are a must! Nurse's orders! ;)
You will be in my thoughts and prayers on Monday and as always.
Love ya!!

Now that Meat is skipping up and down the ward, I hope his renewed athleticism will mean a revival of his show-concluding roly polies. As a safety precaution Mr. Crook and Mr. Flowers can act as human buffers either end of the stage to halt any excessive momentum.

Hi Meat,
Sorry, I haven't been on here for a while and spent the last couple of days catching up. I hope the operation and the recovery is going well. I hope the tendons were saved too and I hope you haven't been in too much pain and managed to keep yourself and your mind as busy as you can as I know recovery can be pretty boring if you're limited to what you can do.
Take care and hope to hear from you soon!

Thanks for taking the time to swing by to let us know how you're getting on
Sorry to hear you're in such pain (especially over the festive season) but keep up with the physio and it'll get better in time.
We're all sending you best wishes for a speedy recovery and a very merry Christmas.
See you on tour next year, and if you get bored resting up in the meantime i'll give you an ass whooping at Mini Golf on the forum arcade  :lawl:
