this is one of those moments where I'm posting for no particular reason, I guess, just looking for people that would understand, I just listened to Man of Steel for the first time (the albumn isn't available in Canada yet)I just listened to Man of steel and wept. This song makes me miss people I haven't thought about in years. part of what makes Meat Loaf so truly gifted is how his voice, his music transports you to places in your memory that haven't been tapped, sometimes wonderfull, sometimes scary, sometimes very sad....you can't listen to it like background music..
i'm just babbling now...have a good day everybody..

You've summed up pretty well the reason why we all love him! :D

I just love the way that he can sing a song and show a story in your mind, the non-believers just cant see that.

Well said little dancer,
we just got back a few hours ago from Meat's second US concert. He really was outstanding.

I'm dazed and amazed...still hours later. Came here to start a thread and share the experience, ran across your post, you hit it.

I'd better get back to my original intention and try to share this awesome experience.

Keep ROCKIN,
T

Hi Leah,

I clearly remember the first time I first listened to the new songs. Today, they still bring 'a smile to my face'/'tears in my eyes' and I feel you are right. This is not background music. And there is no doubt in my mind, I will still 'treasure' this album in 20 years time!
Thank you for 'babbling' about Man of Steel. It always makes me feel very good when I realise just how many people are enjoying these songs!

Great day to you!

T.!!!

You are back! Made me so happy to know you and Jules had 'the front seat'. Can't wait to hear all about you experiences and ofcourse the new songs!

Love,

Mariella

Man of Steel is my favourite track on the album. I remember hearing the looped chorus I downloaded from Kazaa Lite. I thought "Yeah, this is good", but when I heard the whole thing, I thought "THIS IS F***ING BRILLIANT!"

I really appreciate the support that is freely, and abundantly, offered from this board..I didn't expect to read so many heartfelt replies to my post (which admitedly was written at a time of very raw emotion). Y'know, Meat said something way back in the 70's with regards to his work being an alternative to 'boring' music. (He said it in a far more eloquent, and diplomatic way, mind you) I think this board proves that people who refuse to listen to 'boring' music, are rarely 'boring' people.
cheers to the whole lot of ya!
