An extract from today's Daily Mail:

"Charles arrived via a helecopter at 5pm in time to see Big Brovaz and Liberty X. He sat in the Royal Box between Destiny's Child singer Beyonce Knowles - in red hot pants - and the outsize rocker Meat Loaf.

The compere, Duncan from the boy band Blue, called on the prince to stand so the audience could see him. But Charles was engrossed in conversation with Meat Loaf and failed to hear him.

The prince turned to Beyonce and said 'What was that?' before realising, standing and waving to the crowd.

A friend of Charles said: 'He was particularly looking forward to seeing Meat Loaf perform and was disappointed when he found he'd missed him.'

During their conversation, Meat Loaf doubtless took the opportunity to complain to Charles that the organisers broke their promise to allow him a 30-minute set.

They told him just before he went on stage that he was being allowed only half that time. After 20 minutes, when he carried on singing, they turned off his microphone.

It's absolutely shameful Meat should have been treated this way, particularly as he had the guts, honesty and professionalism to be, I believe, the only artist to play a totally live set.

At least Prince Charles has just gone up in my estimation. Meat has earned the Royal seal of approval. Cool!!! :D

Meat should put the PITP experience behind him and maybe play another solo concert for The Prince's Trust at the Royal Albert Hall, like he did in 1994, where his amazing and unique talents would be properly appreciated and respected.

Rock on Fire Ball!!!

They did NOT turn off his microphone! We definitely heard the end of BOOH in the crowd.

Also, there's a fair write-up (but no photo) in the Daily Express.

Here's another extract, this time from the review in The Daily Telegraph:

Critical appraisal of the performers is difficult when the use of backing tapes is so widespread. This was perhaps to be expected from vocal groups such as Girls Aloud and Atomic Kitten, but even with those acts such as Mel C who had backing bands with them on stage, the musicians were clearly miming. One honourable exception was Meat Loaf, who was one of the few people on stage who actually looked as though he meant what he was singing.

Accompanied by a real live, plugged-in band, he played an epic version of Bat Out Of Hell, to a mixture of wild enthusiasm (over 40s) and utter bewilderment (under 20s). Fantastic stuff, but what was he doing here alongside the likes of Blue and Gareth Gates?

Refreshing to see a class newspaper appreciating a class act. :D

There was a mention of Meat Loaf on FoxNews here in America last night. They showed video of Prince Charles greeting Meat Loaf while the commentator made a couple of cute Meat Loaf references. They showed it a couple of times with the same comments:

"Ain't no doubt about it...Meat Loaf meet Prince Charles, Prince Charles meet Meat Loaf...royalty meets royalty....Couldn't Have Said It Better Myself"

So, yes, at least FoxNews is aware of the upcoming Meat Loaf album!!!

Yay for FoxNews!!!

ROCK ON FIRE BALL!!!

i have read something about meat in every uk paper this korning.... ranging from the daily mail to the Sun. Meat has got his own paragraph in each, some with photos and no negative comments. The Sun had a head line "Prat out of Hell" but the story didnt relate to the headline, these people must have been looking for something real quick and thats as far as they can think...the sun isnt the smartest british paper.

It was nice to see great praise from the likes of the daily mail and prince charles himself. Rockers Wheatus were full of praise and the audience looked into it as well. Is it a coincidence that the tabloids said little but the broadsheets with proper writers gave great praise on meat. Also his actual vocal performance wasn't mentioned at all, so obvoiusly the vocals/sound gaps only came across on TV and not live.

All in all, this is a good week for meat....... hes in the uk papers, he made TV, and as posted in another topic...plymouth got a great review which will reinforce some of you worriers that meats vocals are infact 100%.

However the only negative thing i heard was from RI:SE, yes thats the show which is being scrapped because it has no viewers, poor presenters and is full of big brother rejects. The presenter commented "Meat loaf sounded awfully out of tune" then big brother 4 reject justine commented "Whats new?" This girl may think at the moment she is a household name.........but so's 'rubbish'! Obvoiusly she has never saw meat live so why did she comment on him.

Thanks for posting. Charles has definitely gone up a bit in my book, from the pictures I've seen he definitely seemed to be enjoying talking to Meat.

There have been more snippets about Meat at the PITP in today's Mail and Express. :D The PITP has proved a wonderful tool to get Meat in the news, especially with the new edit of CHSIB being released next Monday.

Meat has worked his a** off so let's hope Mercury now capitalize on this and have their own promotional campaign in place for the single. Some promo ads in newspapers and music magazines wouldn't be a bad place to start. Of course TV ads would be good too. I also hope Mercury are doing all they can to ensure retail outlets are aware of the single this time round and are circulating copies for the media to review.

I haven't seen any ads for the new edit yet and I only ever saw one newspaper ad for the single the first time round. The album on the other hand was advertised in a few music magazines and papers.

I've only just caught up with the recording of PITP (working nights you tend to be two or three days behind normal folk) I was appalled at the way he was treated by the so called presenters, but what can you expect when their average age is 12 and their IQ even less.
