Throughout the albums of Bat Out Of Hell, you can literally take almost any song off it and put it to clips from King Kong and it would thematically work.
Off the top of my head: It Just Wont Quit, Two Out Of Three (from Fay Wray's perspective), especially Frying Pan could potentially make good videos. I already did a Monster Is Loose video based on Kong, I may tackle another in the future.
The songs themselves seem to be deeply inspired by the movie itself. The Intro to Frying Pan for example was described in some interview I cant locate at the moment as Meat in a cage like a giant monster ready to break loose. For Crying out Loud, is what I always thought Kong would sing if he could talk. All three albums have a beauty and the beast- type atmosphere. In fact The Hunchback of Dotre Dame also seems to have some essence with some of the tracks, especially Objects.
but now the covers I have realized are themselves inspired by Kong.
The first and second Bat Out Of Hells are obvious. The Bat's position \on the church on teh Bat 1 cover is the same position Kong is positioned in one of the post famous promotional shots in cinema history.
On the Bat 2 cover .... Its so obvious.
On the Bat 3 cover, it takes a little thinking but its there. In a famous scene in the movie, Kong puts Ann down on the ground and defends her against a pterodactyl. Thats what the Bat 3 Artowrk, at least in my mind, is trying to pay homage to.
You agree with my thesis?
