Does anyone else miss Stump the Band? I really enjoyed that segment in the show.

Not especially, it was all a fix anyway! Besides, it would be a bit pointless these days, with such a relatively new line up.

I imagine there were some ideas that were ad libbed. but no doubt about the 'fix' I think that everything is all a part of his story and we read some pages, again and again and again.

'and my final words on my final page, will be YOUR name' probably a ill time to put in a meat loaf lyric in a thread.

There was a new lineup in 1999 when they did Stump the Band, but I know what you mean about the songs being previously chosen, not spontaneous. I still enjoyed it though.

The bit where members of the audience called out songs and Meat always managed to hear Honky Tonk Women or Mony Mony.

Yes it didn't seem to be "stump the band" so much as "someone from the audience introduces the next song"...great versions though.

The E Street Band doing Stump The Band is something else...and more than likely my only hope of seeing Roy Bittan and Max Weinberg together on a BOOH track ever!!

*stump the audience* or the audience is the band. and the band on stage were the ones being entertained by the people on the floor. the band did a show, and at the end, the band got some fun. what was the name of this tour, i don't even know the year.

They did Stump the Band in 1999 on the VBO tour and in 2002 on the Just Havin' Fun tour. I thought it was a lot of fun. I especially liked their version of Prince's song 1999 sung by Patti, Tom Brislin, and Ray Anderson.

I loved Stump the Band. I wish the HIAH tour would be another Meat Loaf and Friends tour like in '02 with members of the band opening for Meat. The current lineup is so talented and I would enjoy hearing their solo work, especially Patricia and Randy.
