This has been done for pretty much every song now possible, thought I'd fill in the blank :D I ran a quick search to see if the thread already existed, but nothing came up. Either way, if it's already been done, I'm sorry in advance.

Which is your favorite version of Steinman's "The Future Ain't What It Used To Be?" Personally, I prefer the original arrangement from Pandora's Box. It's still not perfect - I don't like the vocalist (Gina Taylor?), and there are parts of it that just sound a little awkward in my opinion. But I still prefer it to the alternatives ;)

I think I covered all the versions in the poll...so what's your favorite? :D

definitely Patti Russo, with Mark Alexander on piano. Contrary to some statements, their version was recorded a decade or more ago, not after "Bat 3".

Meat Loaf. Shorter and sweeter in this case, and Jennifer Hudson's voice (along with Meat's of course!) is superb for this type of song.

I chose Patti's version. She nailed it. Meat's version would be awesome without Jennifer shouting the lyrics.

Meat's version would be awesome without Jennifer shouting the lyrics. And Meat's vocals overlaid on the Pandora's Box backing track. Desmond's production did this song no favours, which is a shame as it's one I'd always wanted Meat to cover.

You know, I love patti's version but Im completley surprised its raping this poll. Pandora's box version is my personal favorite. If we had that arrangement mixed with meat's 1987 vocal this world would be perfect
