He's worn white on stage quite abit over the years. And his most recent attire is cool. Out of these three options; I'll say red.

What a crazy subject to be in general messages (especially considering the mercury record label talk got moved) and what an awful bunch of photos showing Meat at his worst; drinking and half naked. Yuk. :-(

:wtf: That's the kind of question I'd expect to be asked by a woman.

By the way, there are a lot of nicer photos of Meat Loaf in frilly shirts, why the hell did you choose these unfavorable pics from the Dortmund 1982 concert?

Tis true. But I was in a frilly shirt kinda mood and felt like making a poll....

I didnt really think of it that way. Its just the pics I could easily grab from my site instead of going to google.

Oops, just saw that two of the pics are obviously from Wembley '81. I'm not into frilly shirts (I like the plain black shirts of the Casa De Carne tour best), but the red one in combination with a motorcycle jacket was okay.

Indeed this is what I was thinking exactly. If you're gonna start a topic about Meat's fashion then why use the most awful photos of him in history?

Yeah, I much prefer what he's been wearing during the latest tour and the Casa De Carne.

Yep, even as a heterosexual guy I would say so too and not only that but those photos were from a horrible time in his career I think, one in which he didn't exactly care about his health. It just doesn't look good advertising Meat like that.

Well, this is kind of a weird conversation, and I don't know if I want to be part of it, but if I had to completely sell my soul and put unwaranted psychological influences on the way that a musician presents himself via clothing .......... I'd go with the Bat II image for sure ;)

Doode.

Regardless of the pictures, I still got 23+ members to vote on teh poll. i accomplished something.

You accomplished to shock me. More people have voted for a half-naked Meat Loaf than for the red shirt so far.

I see WarrieL is still up to his naughtyness... lol ... If we're going to talk frilly shirts (and lacy cuffs... omgoodness... hotcha ), I like the look 'Imself had when first he came on my radar in 1993 ~ You'd know or remember better than I, WarrieL ... Was it a show from the Beacon Theater on VH-1 ? 'Imself stalks out onto the stage eyeballing the audience and I just melt off the sofa. I also like the look in the More Than You Deserve video OH and the Dead Ringer video. White frills with lacy cuffs for me ! Nowadays, I love the look of him AND him in general, just the way he is ... ;) ...

Thanks for your playfulness, WarrieL ! I think in my heart you never mean anything hurtful by it ... Take care !

Note, I haven't read the last 6-7 messages in this thread; but I wanted to share something that my cousin and I experienced yesterday. We were on this very board, and saw the pics. We had a real good laugh. They were funny, they were a great choice of pics!

If somebody hasn't already; I might just make a poll and ask, "Are we too harsh on Wario?" ;) Even on his YouTube account he can't get a break. Reference, "The Sex Ed Song" Lmao

 I think the first two pics are pretty good, and even the third one is hardly the most offensive thing i've ever seen.

At the end of the day, this is where Meat came from. It's his history.
Why not talk about these pictures? Should we whitewash Meat's concert history to only pictures where he looks perfect? I should hope not. Save that for bands like Bon Jovi, who (no offence to them) look great and hardly break sweat on stage. They sound great, but look and image has always been more important to them than Meat.
I personally like Meat's rougher side as well as the more polished look and sound. I find something artistically pleasing when Meat looks and sounds like he's been through the worlds biggest meat grinder (no pun intended) and all the polish is stipped away and all you are left with is raw power and emotion.
There was something Jim said on one of the Bat documentry interviews about a 300 pound Meat Loaf who looked like he was reading to crash down through the heavens. I really get what he thought was so appealing about that.
There is beauty in destruction as well as in creation.

There is already an effort to sterilize, clean, polish, re-finish, touch up, and edit Meat's history, and that's being done by a Red Pony.
I think that's sad.

Strong effective points, Ian!

I think some of 'In Search Of Paradise' has a little of that destruction in creation traits you describe above. I think Red Pony has alot to do with Meat seeing that documentary and getting a little paranoid ;)

Maybe the red pony should have watched more Springsteen videos on YouTube. ;)
