WHich do you prefer?

Meat or Bruce's Rock medley?
Now their are a TON of variations on Meat's medley (Sometimes containing "Roll Over Beethoven", "Around and Around", and others) but we are this is comparing the two official releases f both medleys.

BRUCE: THE DETROIT MEDLEY [HAMMERMSITH ODEON, 1978]

Consists of: "Devil With A Blue Dress On", "Jenny Take a Ride", and "Good Golly, Miss Molly"

http://www.amazon.com/Detroit-Medley-Hammersmith-Odeon-Audio/dp/B001BK9IMY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1293398643&sr=8-1

MEAT: THE ROCK MEDLEY [WEMBLEY ARENA, 1987]

Consists of: "Johnny b. goode" , "Jail house Rock" , "Slow Down" (Meatless) , "Blue Suede Shoes", and a Reprise of "Johnny B. Goode"

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rock-n-Roll-Medley/dp/B001GUBIAO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dmusic&qid=1293398762&sr=8-1

Neither are on Youtube, and i treid to put both on their before this poll, but they got blocked.

Me: Its easy to say meat's is superior sans the scratchy production value. I like how The Detroit medley starts, but half way through it just loses its momentum. And bruce sounds not as good as meat does in 1987.

I am not a huge fan of The Rock Medly, but I am very much not a fan of Springsteen. This is another useless poll to me.

Does the recent Houston 1978 release of Detroit Medley not count? You need to get up way earlier to get your facts straight about both artists my friend. ;-)

First off, Hammersmith is from 1975.

Secondly, there are a TON of variations on the Detroit Medley also- included these or other songs depending on the period:

BACK IN THE USA, CC RIDER, DEVIL WITH THE BLUE DRESS, GOOD GOLLY MISS MOLLY, HIGH SCHOOL CONFIDENTIAL, I GOT YOU (I FEEL GOOD), I'M READY, JENNY TAKE A RIDE, KANSAS CITY, LAND OF 1000 DANCES, MYSTERY TRAIN, SHAKE, SOCK IT TO ME BABY, SWEET SOUL MUSIC, TALLAHASSEE LASSIE, TRAVELIN' BAND, UPTIGHT (lots of other songs).

Sony blocked it because you uploaded an official version- there's other ones on there, like this one:

This is no contest for me- Bruce, of course! :-)

And bruce sounds not as good as meat does in 1987.

That's a matter of opinion, but Bruce definitely had a much nicer ass.  (Still does)

Of course I know that. This is comparing the official versions of each. not the bootlegs.

Then why did you mention it regarding Meat's version?

Doesn't matter- I still pick Bruce.

No, I mean that you mentioned that Meat's medley often included many different songs...I was pointing out that Bruce's has, as well.

Really? Maybe on some versions its omitted because of rights issues like the Rockpalast DVD

I have a UK release of the VHS and it's not on there. I have the Rock & Roll Medley and an interview with Meat from the AIDS Day Benenefit though but I can't recall where I got it from. It's definitely not on my Stand By Me video tape.

It's not what? A Meat Loaf fan club? It says at the top of the page Meat Loaf Fan Club. And Meat is winning by a mile at the moment. :D

I believe Sarge was referring to you claiming this was Meat's site. Yes it's Meat's fan club, but not his site. I will take off my hat of pedantry now.

It's a site about him but it's not his site.

OK, I worded it wrong, but that's what I meant. My point being, it's a Meat Loaf fan club, so it should be a given he would win. Same as if the same poll was done on Bruce Springsteen's fan club, I would expect him to win there.

As a medley to watch live on stage Meat wins.

As a medley to take part in during the concert then Bruce wins.

Next question?
