Ok i'm taking a rough guess that some of you may be into Gaming. If so what games for you like whether it be for PC, PS2, Xbox (Shudders) or gamecube.

Personally at the moment I'm into Battlefield 1942 and GTA Vice City. And I've just completed Enter The Matrix

I'm an avid Gamer (It requires a capital letter! )
I'm currently into MGS: 2, GTA: VC, Civ III, and have also just finished ETM.

(I realise that by using these acronyms in this thread, it invalidates my entry in the Netiquette thread  )

But yeah there ya go.
I use my PC and PS2.

I love GTA: Vice City! It's the most complete game ever!

I'm also into Metal Gear Solid 2, some say that there's too many scenes in between, but it wouldn't be so good without them.Really looking forward to the next one.

I love driving games like Gran Turismo 3 too and WRC rally.

And there's the Championship Manager series and Rollercoaster Tycoon and all of the Monkey Island games. But my favourite game of all time was Frontier Elite 2 on the Amiga.

My most favourite PC games ever are "Thief" and "Thief 2". So the waiting for "Thief 3" is very hard for me. I also love "Deus Ex" and "System Shock 2". And due to this, I also can't await "Deus Ex 2" and maybe "System Shock 3".

My favourite genre of PC games are ego-shooters. I've played nearly all of them. The best existing ego-shooters are "Kingpin", "Blood", "Quake", "Return To Castle Wolfenstein" and "Unreal 2". But the best is yet to come. I think, that the greatest ego-shooters are the ones in the near future like "Stalker", "Doom 3" and "Kreed".

At the moment I'm playing "GTA: Vice City" and "Freelancer".

Hey I like computer games too. Do you know what the XBOX360 is like? I've never played it.
I can't wait for the PS3 to come out. It should be great. Will you get it Paul?

Chris
22 Feb 2006, 23:08
Well the old ones are the best - SimTower, SimCity 200, Civ 3.

I will admit to being a bit of a Red Alert addict at uni - any game where you shove bomb up a hypnotised cow's behind and walk it into a camp has got to be a laugh!! They used to provide free internal calls within the halls of residence so we had a server farm going on the top floor and player multi-player versions. Good times!!!
Never got into Tiberian Sun tho.

Also rather like the Commandos games.
Lately I've been playing a beta version of Dungeons and Dragons - it comes out soon and will thrash World Of Warcraft.

Xbox360 is great. The graphics are incredible. However, the PS3 will beat it hands down.

Quite into Fifa 2005 right now. Scun - t- horpe United will be thrasing Chelsea in the few days on my tv! :))
It's incredible how cheap games our nowadays. I remember the days of when the SNES was the thing to have and if you did not have Street Fighter 2 (whopping 60 quid!) you felt rather uncool at school. I don't agree with the hefty xbox 360 prices, althought the computer is really cool. Fair enough the hardware is incredible (better bus speeds /ram speeds than most pcs in fact) but it's ridiculous asking £50+ for games these days. I just bought 4 excellent ps2 games for 20 quid. Been playing Fifa and not even opened the other three!

Yeah i agree, that is a ridiculous price, lets hope ps3 prices are cheaper. Ahhhh i remeber when i was younger in the good old days playing on street fighter 2 turbo on the snes. That was awesome. It's such ashame that nintendo have gone downhill since then...

What did you guys think of the SEGA MEGA DRIVE?

What was the first computer console to be released? Was it the Commodore?

Paul191
22 Feb 2006, 23:41
oh, i loved the sega, i was addicted to sonic 2 when i was a little younger. Still an awesome game to this day i think. And i don't have a clue about the first console to be released, lol

22 Feb 2006, 23:42
Yeah I think Nintendo hasn't really kept up with the big hardware guys myself. Though games like Metroid Prime are pretty damn awesome and very atmospheric. I remember Nintendo having a chance in 93/94 to co-develop the playstation with Sony. I would think they regret not taking advantage of that opportunity. Having said that I think Nintendo have invested a lot of research into the Revolution and apparantly the new style controllers are getting an enormous early appraisal from what I've heard. It's just a shame it always seems to take them ages to release anything. Been waiting on the new Mario handheld game for like a year now! Ridicilous.

Yeah Sega Mega drive was cool also. Altered Beast was excellent. Even that crazy Michael Jackson Moonwalker game was classic, though I thought it got a bit frustrating after a while! :))

I think nintendo can do it if they really put there mind to it. They just keep making the wrong decisions. The thing with nintendo is that they try to make games and consoles affordable for the general public which is fair enough, but unfortunately doesn't work nowadays. This is because if they want a super console they really need to get spending and this would make the console even more expensive. Even the revolution (there newest console in development) is said to have worse graphics than x-box 360, which is my opinion wont get them anywhere.
