Awesome.
Great find - just after LBAGG tour, Martin Gershwitz on keyboards I believe a position he held until Mark Alexander came on board later that year
Thank you, I really enjoyed those!!
Thanks!! What a wonderful man, what a wonderful voice!!!
It seems my DVD reached you, Wario ... good idea to share with the community.
Bye from Kai

All Revved Up is just amazing - the best version I've ever heard. A ten minute intro to a four minute song.
"If I hadn't had twelve years of psychotherapy I'd be f***ing pissed off now !!!"
"I'm looking f***ing greeeaaat maaan !!!"
There just has to be a better quality video from this era for a DVD release ?

I dare say there are multiple camera recordings of both this show and the Toad's Place show stored away in a vault somewhere. Hopefully they will see the light of day eventually.

I do hope so - I'd actually prefer one of these on DVD rather than a re release of something we've already seen on VHS (ie Meat Loaf Live or Bad Attitude Live). What leads you to believe that this stuff is out there somewhere ?

A) Why else would it be filmed in the first place?
B) Footage from this show appears on the classic albums DVD and is of far better quality.

I am pretty sure it is Dave Gellis. I heard Meat once say that a guitarist prior to Thrall got so drunk he passed out face first into the keyboards. Always wondered if this guy was the one.
Ok here's the rock medley (sorry its so late) with band intros before the tape fades.
Its Pat Thrall:

Its Pat Thrall:
im that good :D and from nothing more than remembering the same guitar at the wttn gig
Thanks for posting the songs from this show. I much prefer Meat's singing voice now to 1989, but I love the opportunity to see shows from the past :) He's always had the power, and it's interesting to see how his younger self expressed it. And that 14-minute All Revved Up is definitely the best I've ever seen! How did that go, "the best f~~~in' lookin' f~~~in' suit you can f~~~in' get your f~~~in' hands on" LOL!!!!! Did he do it like that the whole 1989 tour? There are probably some lucky people on here who got to see shows in 1989; sadly, I didn't. Thanks again :)

Really ? I think Meat's voice from the mid 80s to pre Bat 2 is just incredible and its almost tragic that there's no proper DVD release from this era. If there were I think it could be even better than MSO.

:-) I think Meat's voice was probably incredible when he first began singing in the shower as a kid, lol! But for me, his powerful heldentenor became even more thrilling around the time of Bat II, and since that time has developed a deep richness that just wasn't there in the early days, as good as he sounded back then. And believe me, I'm not knocking Meat's beautiful early voice.
I agree, I would love to see/hear more from the 80's.

Per Kathy's response.
Well said and I agree.

He said in his autobiograpy that his mother told him not to be a singer because he 'couldn't carry a tune in a bucket' but I imagine he was quite young when she told him that and how many young kids can actually sing in tune?
I'd say my favourite era for Meat's voice was the late 80's/early 90's so I'd love to see more from that time. As much as I like his voice in the BOOH era, I just prefer the slightly later stuff. I just wish I could have seen him live at that time.
Thanks for sharing the videos Wario.

I agree with this post. Late 80's until someplace in '93 was the peak to me. The early Bat 2 shows were also amazing. He's still doing fine, but his voice has "changed" during several stages. The 89-93 time was my favorite.

I think '85 to '88 was Meat's peak vocal wise. '91-'94 was pretty hit and miss. This is purely based on vocals though.

Im gonna correct you and say
83 (MATLAF Tour vocals were excellent) - 90 and 91-96

No they weren't. Listen to the Wembley '83 bootleg that you've no doubt got tucked away. Meat slurs his words all the way through.

I was going on Glasgow '83. ah well, its a pointless argument as we bothagree '85 - '90 are in the ballpark
