This is the START OUT OF HELL & ARRIVE TO HEAVEN topic.
Let's Go to Rock 'n' Roll!!!!!!!

If It Rains (5)

This song is like an average Bon Jovi happy rock song from the last 10 years. Nothing special. The guitar solo in the middle is aimless and I really hate Meat's overmanipulated voice in the high notes after that and at the end. Grrrr... Hurt my ears!

My score: 5

I really like this song. I don't think Meats vocals were manipulated imo. But anyway I like the lyrics, I LOVE the vocals, and it gets an 8 for me.

not bad, but nothing that jumps out at me to say it's a hit song

Love it .. leads perfectly from Let's Be In Love, and to me carries a message of hope rekindled and embraced as the character acknowledges finally that living and loving will always have the potential for bringing pain .. but he has achieved enough maturity and wisdom to look life and love in the face, risk the hurt that will often come hand in hand with the joy of loving, and can hang on in there and be constant. Love the melody, love the clean unengineered vocals .. full of hope, promise and honest self-awareness.

When I first heard the chorus on Behind the Music, I expected it to be a great tune, was disappointed when I heard it on the CD. Not bad but not great either. Suffers from the same weaknesses like Running Away From Me. "Lalala" and "nanana" often appears like lazy songwriting to me.

I like this song. With Let's Be in Love, If it Rains, and Elvis in Vegas the album ends on a positive note.

A 9 from me - this is one of my favourites on the album. In fact, second only to Song of Madness.

Love it, great song. I don't believe Meat's vocals are manipulated either, and it definitely doesn't hurt my ears to listen to it when Meat reaches those high notes.

I first heard the little snippet of the chorus on Behind the Music and knew, from that little snippet, that I was going to love this song. I was right. It's one of my favourites from HCTB. I understand what Sarge is saying though, about the lalala's and nanana's. 9/10

Absolutely superb song, imho one of Meat's very best. Cracking tune, production, vocals, and I love the sentiment behind it. Like IGLHFBOU I can imagine myself in the scenario described in the song, standing in the street looking thunder in the face, saying "l won't change!"

Part of 4 or 5 final songs on the album that together make for an enormously strong close.

10.

It's ok. The chorus is amazing, but the rest of the song doesn't quite match it. So...

7 for me. A good song, but I'd go to Madness, California or Peace first.

8.5/10 I think this is such an inspirational song, it could be used in any kind of rights movement.
