I think it's quite funny, one of the better A1 commercials that they have come up with.
According to Wikipedia

And as Chris said, it was one ad campaign, and they have since used another star in an ad. To suggest Meat's their "new spokesperson" is typical of the stuff people shove onto Wiki. But it was a good ad, and a funny one :lol:

I most certainly do, and I'm sure A1 monitor there page on Wikipedia every now and again. If something like that was false they would have removed it.

No, I think that's probably an assumption that someone has made because of the ads. When I was in the US this summer, as I said, they are now playing a different ad with a different performer. Imo it's a stretch to suggest anyone is a "spokesperson" just because they appear in a TV ad for a product. A spokesperson would surely be speaking out regularly on behalf of a company or product, and Meat has not done that .. just made a couple of good ads for the company .. a company whose marketing strategy seems to be focused on using a variety of performers to promote their product.
Whoever posted it in Wiki seems to be as unsure of what the definition of the word is as you are .. ie a person who speaks as the representative of another or others often in a professional capacity. Acting in a TV ad is hardly speaking in a professional capacity for the company.
Joanna Lumley was the only actress used to promote Muller yoghurt for several years, and was so popularly associated with the product that when she was dropped as being "too old" by Muller, their sales dropped significantly as women voted with their feet .. as a result she was asked to come back and be their TV advertising face again .. but she has never acted as their spokesperson, nor do I suspect she would see herself as that. There are significant numbers of famous faces associated for far longer with specific products/companies from cosmetics, to communications, to food .. none of them are "spokesperson" for the product ... just its advertising face

A1 Sauces are owned by Kraft Foods, so unless Kraft Foods are editing these pages themselves there is no reason to believe Meat Loaf is a "Spokesperson" for a sauce. In the edit history there are only a bunch of usernames and mostly IP addresses. None of these appear to belong to Kraft Foods so the wikipedia page could be full of horse shit for all we know.

Indeed and it's those kind of people who easily seem to be able to confuse others. :roll:
Cheryl Cole does lots of ads for L'Oreal but that does not mean she is a spokesperson for the hair product or goes around the country washing people's hair or represents the brand beyond the adverts.
It seems a rather childish assumption to think of Meat Loaf as the steak sauce man. :shrug:

And see folks that's easy it is to edit. Wiki means nothing.
I've seen a lot of people fooling around on there. There was a Derren Brown show on TV last year and I was curious to know his age, so looked it up on Wiki and it told you that evening he had died that day. A few hours later the deceased information was taken off by someone else.

On again, off again.... At the time of the A1 he was off again. At tour time, he is on again.
He says in interviews now that he is not a vegetarian, although he was for some years, but that he tends to avoid red meat .. and salmon as he feels a kindred spirit with them, always swimming uphill and against the flow :lol:
I doubt Joanna Lumley lives on Muller yoghurt, Cheryl Cole uses L'Oreal exclusively, or that Davina McCall colours her hair at home with Garnier Nutrisse :lol:
Not sure on what you base your "on again" at tour time? He invited M&Gers to try the sloppy joes he had in his dressing room the other year :-) And I've seen tour contracts which specify lean meats.

Did you catch the tour contract for this go around? I didn't but an audio interview right before the beginning of the US tour started this summer Meat said that he was going back to a vegetarian diet for 15 weeks. Now if that happened or not, I will not know. It happened to be tour time and it happened to be a change he was making. So, to me I cannot discount the fact he was vegetarian for many years. He was on a vegetarian palate then (on again)...maybe he was off when he had sloppy joes and lean meats (off again). That's kinda how I looked at it.
Nothing better than chewing on a nice bit of lean pink meat.;):D

I think though basically he isn't a "vegetarian" now as a committed lifestyle, but like some people avoids meat at times for a healthy diet, perhaps eating fish and not necessarily avoiding any animal related food, although generally it's recommended that singers avoid dairy before performing. Actually the vegetarian movement when it started adopted the word to mean healthy eating rather than avoiding anything wth a face, which is what it tends to mean nowadays;) I sometimes go weeks without eating meat, just because I like fish and tend to feel healthier, but I'm not a vegetarian :-)

I love dairly, meat and fish. If you are on a vegatarian diet you are always starving in my opinion. I love my protein and it's all very healthy in my opinion. I always have a serving of fruit and vegetables everyday, so my diet is all nicely balanced. In order to feel good you should eat right, it's very important.
Meat Loaf was/is a vegetarian but what's the point. Look at "In Search of Paradise" and what's on his table before every show!!! a lot of junk food. Red Bull terrible stuff to be taking before a show, and he mixes it with something else yuk!!!!
Having said that the Meat Loaf he was eating in that ad looked as tasty as hell. I wanted a piece. haha
